Ah, when was the last time she had taken a stroll outside of Haven? With the festival finished, people were busy cleaning up and taking down stalls and decorations. They didn’t need her guidance for that, and it was all a bit too energetic for the old magi. No, today the weather was kind; clouds dotted the sky, breaking up the warm sun every now and again to give a bit of relief to those who were sensitive to it. A breeze whispered gently in the leaves, accompanied by birdsong and the quiet steps of the old woman on tamped earth.
She took a deep breath of spring air and exhaled with a contented sigh. Yes, the peace and quiet was always welcome after a hectic festival. She loved the Spring Renewal most of all, but after the hustle and bustle and dancing and food, it was important to take a day to re-center and focus.
Worn, rough boots carried her on an equally worn, rough path, towards a small stream nearby. Once she heard the rushing water, her fins fluttered under her clothes. Never in a thousand lifetimes would she tire of that sound. Nor would she tire of watching the water as the trees parted into a clearing, the sunlight sparkling like gemstones on the babbling brook. With a wrinkled smile, Cherche walked to a log near the bank of the water and with a bit of effort and a grunt, sat down.
One hand massaged the other, trying to ease perpetual aches in her old joints. It was a temporarily and ultimately fruitless effort; not even the modern medicines available in Haven, nor the powers of zero magi, could cure her; they could simply ease the discomfort for a short time.
A fish jumped out of the water, and a few moments later, another did the same. Cherche was content to sit and watch the stream, breathe, and just take time to enjoy nature’s beauty… though thought it a bit odd that there weren’t many animals enjoying a drink in the stream. Perhaps it was nothing, but nearly two centuries of life told her to always watch for signs that one might not be alone.

"The festival is over huh?" Kai pondered aloud. "Yea it is." He spoke somewhat drowsily. The Kitsune wasn't used to such populous events, and frankly found them exhausting. But when you look back on everything it's worth the pain and sleepless nights. Especially this one. Arithelia was really the only one in the pantheon that he really admired and worshiped. Kai wasn't too sure himself why he was so entirely dedicated as he was to the goddess. Perhaps because of her dedication to the spirits or what she represented. Unity, perhaps was the best way of putting it. It was such a beautiful thing. Though it's kinda scary when you think about it. His second voice whispered. He sighed and told it to shut up. Right now he was relaxing by a nearby stream, curled right up tight against a soft wooded tree and watching the stream. After hearing so much about the environment and it's preservation, one could appreciate the efforts put into it when you experience it first hand. 'It's strange' he thinks bemusedly. How one can feel alone in a crowd but not in such a spacious place as the forest. Kai breathed in the relaxed atmosphere. The calming presence here was clear enough. Though the best thing he liked about this was that it allowed him to think. Anywhere else his thoughts would be distracted but here isolated, he was allowed to himself. Liberating it was. Or so he feels at least. Kai jumped to his knee, stretching momentarily before following the stream down. Thinking about what to write about when he got home. As he slowly trailed the waters he was surprised to encounter another person here. An elderly looking woman, although she aged gracefully the signs of age were apparent and judging by the brilliant scales decorating her body, the horns, and a serpentine tail, she was a magi. So maybe about one hundred fifty? Wordlessly he settled down a few feet away to her left. Watching the fish that leaped out the bubbling waters. He wouldn't press his presence, he wasn't like that too often, mischievous sometimes, but not right now. If she wanted conversation he would not deny her but she'd have to make the first move. His tail curled around his stomach warming him up as he enjoyed the cool air. Note: Kai enters the scene. "When you're ready come and get it, na-na-na-na-na-" - Selena Gomez. She basked as the sun warmed her face and the water caressed her ears. Goodness, how could one ask for a day better than this? Everyone was so wrapped up in war or technology that they seemed to have lost sight of the beauty right before them. Her face fins twitched under her hijab as she detected another sound entering the scene. She opened her draconic eyes and turned her head to find the source. As expected, she was not alone.
Fortunately, it was not a hunter, but a magi. A young one that she did not recognize by name, taking a stroll by the stream. Ah, it was good to see that some still had the good sense to enjoy a beautiful day. She gave him a wrinkled, friendly smile. To her surprise, he settled down in a seat not too far from her.
“My, most people are so wary of others,” she said with a dry chuckle. “It’s refreshing to see the opposite. Are you seeking company, child? Or is this old woman in your way?”
Perhaps he was here to meet a friend or a lover, or simply enjoyed this spot as much as Cherche and was too shy to ask her to move. She wouldn’t have minded, but if he was to stay by her, then there was no way he could avoid a conversation with the talkative old leviathan.
“It is a lovely day today, is it not?” She carried on with a happy sigh (Assuming she wasn’t asked to move). “The perfect weather to just sit down and enjoy everything nature has to offer. Oh, but how rude of me not to introduce myself before borrowing your ear! Please call me Cherche. And what may I call you, child?”

Kai smiled at the cheery woman's voice. It was, how did she say it(?), refreshing. Without turning to face her he replied. "I'm not sure, though I don't feel too bad on the subject of a companion to talk to. At least for the moment." He thoughtfully added. Kai was fine with talking to strangers, most of the time, and this one didn't seem too bad. When he turned to get a proper look at who he was talking to quirked a small smile. "I wouldn't say you're old, maybe... well aged?" Time worked differently for magi, mostly human, but definitely not. Physically the kitsune was mature, but the eyes of what he could live he hadn't even started his teenage years. Ah youth. "But honestly I wouldn't mind someone to talk to for a bit." Kai offered tentatively. He assumed the lady had more she wanted to say and he was right. After a moment of thought she began talking again. Kai waited for her to finished before responding. “Glad to meet you, I’m Kai Stiel.” He reached out, offering a hand shake. Kai, being his obvious self, would completely miss how important that name was where Haven was considered. “I wouldn’t really know, I rarely get out to places like this, but it seems nice here.” He loosed a breathy sigh. Feeling his tail relax on the cool ground. “I’m guessing you were here for the Spring Renewal Festival, did you enjoy it?” Waiting for her to finish he would nod before adding another question. “So why are you here?” Note: Heyo Cherche Du Âme

She chuckled at his assessment of her age. “My, what a polite young man you are! Goodness, you will make me blush at this rate. Ah, but make no mistake, child. I’m only twenty-seven years from seeing two centuries. Though I am glad to hear I do not look as old as I am, ha!”
She smiled and took the hand with a gentle shake. “Kai, what a nice name. It is so good to meet you; perhaps I should introduce you to my brother-in-law- he could use a refresher on proper manners!” With a satisfied hum she took her hand back and massaged some more aching joints. Her eyes went back to nature, to the gentle flowing of waters and playful leaping of fish.
“Well, I do hope this day convinces you to get out more often, mm?” She took a deep breath of that fresh air, filled with the comforting scent one could only enjoy near water. She smiled wryly at his comments; it seemed he had no idea of her station, which was perfect; she disliked when people stiffened up at the mention of it, or treated her differently. Sure she understood why, but oh was it tiring. She wasn’t some goddess or queen; she was just an old woman with enough sense to guide a hurting population back to stability.
“I did not spend as much time out enjoying the festivities as I liked, I’m afraid,” she said. “Though I was there, I spent most of my time tucked away in the temple. I do regret missing it, but it simply gives me another reason to look forward to the next year. Did you get a chance to enjoy it, Kai? There are so many exciting things for young people to do.”
She chuckled again; ah, the young kitsune was giving her a joyous day. She admired curiosity and questions, which was why she never said no to babysitting duty for anyone in town. “Ah, just to enjoy some peace and quiet as they take down all the decorations and stands. It’s too much hustle and bustle for me, and it is such a lovely day; how could I say no to a stroll? The water is always so relaxing; there have been days where I have spent time here from dusk to dawn.” She laughed. “I’m afraid I might fall asleep before sunset if I tried that now, though.”

“Maybe it will.” Kai smiled warmly. Cherche was pretty nice, and if he could meet more people like her everytime he strolled into the woods that would definitely be more than enough of a reason to explore. Like Cherche it seemed, Kai spent most of his “outdoor” time at Arithelia’s temple back in Dagos. It was like his smaller home away from his small home. He loved it there and he seldom went anywhere else because of it. That temple was his safe haven in a city where he should have been safe. Kai couldn’t bring himself to personally invovle himself with the deeper workings of the city. Kai was saddened somewhat to hear that the other magi, didn’t get the full experience of the festival. Kai didn’t because he had no one to enjoy it with. The kitsune drifted to a certain resteraunt owning cat magi. Golden eyes looking back into his. Ah. If only… “I’m sure where was, but I never got the chance. Though I guess I did enjoy it, it wasn’t as much as I would have if my brother decided to come here.” Kai gave grin. “It’s a bit of a one sided relationship me and him.” He ended with a huff of laughter. Jonathan hadn’t even answered any of his calls since he got here, luckily he was heading back to Dagos soon, mostly just to check if he hadn’t gotten himself killed. The fox magi couldn’t help but smile a bit wider when Cherche laughed. When she talked about wanting to get away and enjoy the peaceful day he couldn’t agree more. “The two most memorable times of a celebration are the beginning and end in my opinion. My favorite part is what happens after everyone has gone home, a bit of privacy is good for company you know.” He said a matter of factly, his grin relaxing somewhat. “But don’t worry, I’d be out before I even ate dinner.” The leviathan seemed like a very down to earth person. They were content with their lives and choices it seemed, and Kai couldn't help but feel joy, and slight envy, at their happiness. Looking at the other magi, there was so much he wanted to ask her about. Personal opinions, life advice, relationship advice. but that could wait till later. Though there was one question he wanted to ask. “You have a brother right? What is he like?” If he was anything like Jonathan they would probably make a decent acquaintance. 431 words Notes: Klassik Kai. Cherche Du Âme

She nodded and laughed when the kitsune did; sometimes it could be hard to tell how people felt when talking about family. It seemed he cared, though, so it was probably a safe subject. “Family does always make things more enjoyable, doesn’t it? Perhaps not always,” she added. “But as I always tell young people: cherish your family, and don’t forget to call home. Maybe next year for your brother, then.”
Her wrinkled hands massaged each other as the aches flared up. Ah, the joy of getting old. Cherche focused on the scenery while listening to the young magi, nodding along. Yes, there was a certain joy in the calm after a festival; the cool-down after a party, getting to kick your feet up and relax, and most of all, the silent connection that lingered after such a grand coming-together, where people could reflect upon their families and friendships in a renewed light. It strengthened her people, their bonds, their connection to Haven and to themselves.
However what appeared to be a sly innuendo came from the kitsune, drawing a wry grin and a raised brow from the old leviathan. “It is certainly nice to have some private time with company after such festivities, I agree,” she said. She said nothing more, never hinting at whether or not she understood the meaning under his words.
She chuckled and shook her head. “A brother-in-law,” she corrected. “Though he is some of the only family I have left. I was the oldest of two sisters; it was Serena he married.”
She smiled with a twinkle in her eye as memories came back. It was short-lived, though, as the subject was Elijah, not Serena. She folded her hands together and pressed them to her chin. “Elijah… hm. Sometimes I’m not sure how to feel about him; I love him as family, make no mistake, but he is a bit… difficult, at times.” She guffawed at the understatement. The two of them butt heads frequently over Haven’s future. “I know he is a good man under it all, but even old fossils like us can change. He is as stubborn as the earth he works with, and a worse listener.”
Despite the joke, her mood didn’t lighten; rather than laugh, she sighed, and her face grew more somber as she watched the fish play in the water.
“Worst of all, he hurts deeply; like many of us, he has lost much. He is on a path of vengeance.” She shook her head and readjusted herself. She realized it was getting a bit grim for a lighthearted conversation with a stranger, and she turned to him with a smile. “Oh, I just worry for him- but don’t tell him I said that. I’ll deny it.” She laughed as she wagged her finger at the young magi.
“Ah, I tend to go on if you let me,” she said. “Tell me about your brother. Does he not live in Haven?”

The kitsune listened somberly as Cherche spoke about her brother. She sounded conflicted, which the leviathan soon elaborated on. Life didn't get any easier no matter how long you lived it seemed. The older magi still had her own share of problems and concerns and those weren't in short supply. Elijah, had his own woes and worries. When she mentioned vengeance Kai wondered if there was more to this story, though let it go when she asked for his own brother. Kai shook his head. "My older brother and I don't live in Haven, we both live in Dagos actually." He explained. "Jonathan's been hard from the start. He's not a magi, I think. He's pretty, very..." He tapped his chin for the right word. "Human." The fox shrugged. "He's smart, really, really smart. He even went to study at the university." Kai groaned, his intelligence was Jonathan's only Though he's really kinda lonely. When he was a kid he'd get into arguments frequently with our parents when they tried to convince him to come out of his room or introduce him to someone new. Either sending them off with a rude goodbye or just closing the door in their faces." Kai sighed, his shoulders hunched as he leaned on his knees. "Even if he is a giant, stoic, passive-aggressive, piece of work. I like to think I've helped curve him on the right path. I mean, he doesn't yell as much any more, is that a good thing?" He wondered. His brother was an interesting specimen. He never seemed angry as a child, more like, annoyed and bored at the same time. Dissatisfied with everything. Kai would need to find him a date really soon. In that moment he remembered that he still had an audience. "Oh sorry! I kinda got carried away. I don't usually vent on others. It's just that, people get the wrong idea about him and it isn't really fair, because he's never opened up to others..." Not that it really helps your case Jonathan, your still the same introvert you've always been. "Family huh?" He shrugged. Cherche Du Âme

She kept up her practiced smile as the little kitsune spoke. It very nearly faltered when he called his brother “human;” to Cherche, to be compared to a human was a distinctly negative thing. It meant you were violent, shortsighted, ignorant, and fearful. Inwardly, she sighed; another poor magi lured by humanity, living in their cities and being oppressed under their rules. How could any magi be happy there?
She looked away from the magi, back to the water. “Hmm. I’ve heard things about the University. It is supposedly a place of prestige.” She barked a short laugh. “Though I hear mostly it is a place where humans go to learn false magic from other humans.” Wait, that was strange, then. She turned an inquisitive eye to the younger magi.
“I did not think magi were allowed inside. How is it that your brother came to study there? Is he truly a human?”
Eugh, that thought made her sick. Plus he apparently was a large man with a temper? Was this poor kitsune unlucky enough to have a human parent and brother? Horrible! This was why she wished she could ban such practices in Haven… but that’s such a human thing to do, to ban something because it disturbs you. She listens to her people; her role is less of a leader and more of a guide, in her eyes. And so such things were authorized, if frowned upon.
She exhaled a short laugh and smiled. “Family, indeed. Still, be grateful to have someone. Not many of us do, anymore. If you both wish to live peaceful lives in Haven, you are more than welcome.”

Kai was smiling the next minute then tilted his head at the waters. Eyes not quite taking in the beauty of a swift stream in sunlight. 'False magic? You could be taught magic?' He thought curiously but had little time to dwell on it on Cherche's slew of questions. He shrugged knowingly. See Jonathan, she already doesn't like you. "Um. I'm pretty sure they don't let magi in, I'm pretty sure he's human, nothing's telling me otherwise. And to be honest I don't know how he got in with a family like ours. I always thought that they let accepted him because he was a really big intellectual."
The kitsune thought on Cherche's offer to live in Haven. It was kind, almost embarrassing so. Kai blushed a little as he tried to talk her down. "Oh thank you miss, but I couldn't possibly- I mea- It's wonderful, here, inHaven. I would love to live here, and I'm sure my brother, deep down would like it too. How could we not?" Kai shrugged comically and cheerily. "But I know he won't find what he's looking for here. And while he might try and put a brave front he'll never be fully complete here." He smiled embarrassed and a little guilty. He probably had already said too much.
For a while he simply lay there enjoying the day light and cool river air, open to any questions or topics Cherche wanted to talk about. After some time passed, after Cherche's discussion he she choose to enter into one, a question would pop into Kai's head.
"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy... but can we talk about something personal? Sorry if it's a bit sudden." If the older magi obliged he would continue but if not he would understand.
Talking a deep breathe he blew out slowly, his tension evaporating. "It's about love and forgiveness." Another deep breathe as he lay down on the grass. "Do you think that love and forgiveness exist for everyone?"

She took a deep breath. Ah. It was meant literally, not as a metaphor, as if his brother was human-like in personality. She had misunderstood. She forced a small smile even in light of this revelation; Kai could not choose his parents or siblings, so even if his family had humans in it, he was still a magi, and deserved respect.
“Mm, I suppose so,” she said. Eager to let the thread end, she didn’t bother following up with more talk. The University was a shady organization that worked close to hunters, and therefore could not be trusted. Even the name left a sour taste in her mouth.
She nodded, secretly glad there wouldn’t be another human in Haven. “Well, the offer always stands,” she said. “I can promise that; being a governor does come with a few perks, one being that what you say goes!”
She laughed a bit at this. “Ah, but do consider my words seriously, Kai. It’s dangerous out there in the cities. You are always welcome to live a more peaceful life in our little piece of Ethea.”
She rose an eyebrow and turned her attention from the water to the curious young man. Personal, is it? A slow nod indicated that he was okay to proceed. The question, however, was more philosophical than she had expected; the kitsune was full of surprises, it would seem. With a small hum, Cherche turned her gaze back to nature’s beauty.
“You know, not all of us old people are wise, Kai,” she said with a smirk. “Some of us have lost quite a few marbles over the years! Ah, but this is a question with as many different answers as there are people in the world, and it’s impossible to say if any of them are correct. In these times, I turn to the Great Mother, Arithelia, and listen to Her wisdom.
In short, I would say the answer is ‘yes,’ but things are so rarely black and white. Those that seek forgiveness with their actions shall receive it, if their desire is earnest. And so too it is with love. No person is entitled to either, but all people are capable of receiving both; it is up to them, and how they live their lives, that determines if they will.”
She cleared her throat and smiled briefly. “Ah, but that’s just the ramblings of an old woman. You’ll never find the answer that is right for you if you only listen to the words of others.”

Kai took in the wizened magi with impressionable eyes, his mind skipping over the comment of being a governor, assuming she was a sort of advisor to the masses. Nodding along with the leviathan's voice. Despite her belief that not all elders were wise her insight on Kai's question had him believing the opposite. In his mind's eye he could imagine a whole world. So many people. So many unhappy hearts, but so many joyful ones as well. He might have been getting too carried away, but, he just wanted to envelope everyone in his arms and hug them forever. To make them understand just how much hope and love he held for them. Faceless figures in his mind melted into familiar ones. Rune, Althea, Cadence, Jonathan, Mr. Akashi, even Miss Cherche. He gingerly placed an open hand over his heart, his tail swaying ever so slowly. Were these tears? "Oh, sorry miss. Your words were quite touching. I suppose I just got overwhelmed for a moment." He was always the more emotional type, his highs and lows were more extreme than others. For how could he not put his whole heart open? To hold back would be to misuse the gift of emotions. They existed for a reason after all. As he reflected on Cherche's words he had to wonder... "You know, when I think about it. I don't think I've ever earned the love of another. A bit of a bitter thought." He smiled. But I suppose I'll figure that out some time later." The kitsune had always felt the greatest delight if he could bring someone else's happiness to them. A feeling so close to love it had lead to some awkward situations in the past. He chuckled a little to him. Looking back on it now he couldn't tell if he truly loved them or was loved by them either. Strange that, how emotions were not true feelings. "Thank you Cherche, I really enjoyed this conversation. I'm glad I meet you today." Hearing himself say it, it sounded a lot like a goodbye. "Don't worry I'm not going yet, if you don't want me to. It's just... wonderful. Being here, seeing everything. It reminds me of a childhood fairy tales." Honestly. It was probably just his emotive side speaking, but he really loved Haven. Just the few days he's spent here, it was wonderful. "Do you have any questions for me? It would be rude if I didn't offer you a chance, especially after all those questions I asked you." Cherche was so nice, and she didn't mind indulging Kai in his strange games. He really hoped that he didn't end up annoying the kind lady. Cherche Du ÂmeNotes: I think I teared up a little.

The leviathan gave Kai a warm chuckle at his words. My, were those tears? Ah, such an emotional young magi… “You’re a very kind young person, Kai. It would be rude of me not to accept such a lovely compliment. I am always glad to offer what little insight I can.”
She gently shook her head. “Ah, do not misunderstand me, child. ‘Earn’ has a certain connotation in our modern dialect, an implication that you must work for it. But there are many ways one can ‘earn’ love, and I do believe you’ve done so without realizing it, Kai.” Her tail swished lazily as she returned to massaging her pained joints. “The most common way, of course, is to give love. Friendship, relationships, marriage, companionship… all of these are exchanges of love, wouldn’t you agree? And then, of course, there’s familial love; a baby earns the love of their parent simply by existing. As long as they share the feelings as they grow, both have earned love.”
She paused with a pleasant smile as she remembered good times with her children. “But neither is entitled, do you understand? A child does not owe a neglectful, selfish, or abusive parent love simply because they are related. A person who is selfish and cruel has not earned love, but once they change their ways, they open themselves to the possibility again, do you see?”
She turned to Kai and gave him an unmistakable wink (despite her singular eye). “I have no doubt that a kind person such as yourself has earned the love of many in your short time on this earth. And if you have not, then you will; continue on with the kindness I can see in your heart, and you will, one day, earn the love you wish.”
And to prove her point, he thanked her for her time and company. Goodness, if only all young people could show such respect! “You’re welcome to stay here as long as you wish, of course; nature is all of our home. The feeling, however, is mutual. I prefer such delightful company to alone time.”
Mm, questions for him? She had a few in the forefront of her mind, namely why would any magi choose to live in a scum-city like Dagos instead of Haven. Instead, she focused on more enjoyable topics of discussion. “Hmm, well, Kai… why don’t you tell me a little more about yourself? What do you like to do? What parts of Haven are you enjoying?” She continued to ask such grandmotherly questions, like career aspirations and such, to learn a little more about the delightful young lad.

Although Kai didn't really feel like he believed Miss Cherche's opinion of him he was grateful nonetheless. Cherche was a very pleasant person herself, but I wonder, why hasn't she found anyone? Did she have someone? As much as he wanted to ask that seemed a bit too personal for two had just met like, what, thirty minutes, ten minutes ago? Perhaps on their second meeting then? Kai was taken aback by Cherche's question, not because it was strange, rather, because it was so ordinary. He would've expected something, different, in return for his own question, but either she didn't mind too terribly, or she was genuinely interested in knowing the answer. After a moment of thought he would answer.
"I'm, just your average person really. I go to the temples in Dagos regularly, I go shopping, walk around the city in the mornings. Take afternoon naps. I also write occasionally." He pulled out a small hard cover journal for a moment to show to Cherche, displaying just enough to show her what it was, before slipping it back into his jacket's folds. "Though I find a lot of time to myself I often don't know what to do with a lot of it, especially in such a busy place like Dagos. Bit weird isn't it?" He had been looking for some small jobs, but unfortunately hasn't had too much luck in that department. "But that's what I love about Haven though, it's so open, the people here are nice. Too. And the temples." The magi sign happily. "It's beautiful here. Really. I even got some family over here too." He beamed.
When he first came here to Haven he was visiting a family friend, Mr. Akashi, kinda mysterious, mostly drunk. Cool guy, he showed him around some of the wilder areas in Haven and he enjoyed the trip greatly. Not nearly as cramped as Dagos. Then when he came here for the festival, Haven blew away his expectations again. So many magi, gathered in one place. They almost looked like any other human crowd. He was so happy.
A question popped to the top of his head. This was he second time traveling outside of his home. "Hey, Cherche? Have you traveled often? I mean, to the other parts of Ethea at least? You seem to know a lot about the world."
Notes: sorry for the late reply, I had to cycle through the feels.

She smiled as he talked about himself. “Ah, writing? Now there’s something special about that,” she said. “I wish I had written more in my youth; it’s good for you. It helps you look back on all the moments in your life.” She let out a wistful sigh. “I still have all of the letters sent to me by my late sister. I’m glad I kept them; I can look back on them whenever I miss her and remember the good moments we shared.”
She shook her head; oh, the youth! What she wouldn’t give to have the energy to be as active as he seemed to be. “Having some peace is a luxury to some; don’t be so eager to fill every second, Kai. You’ll pray for those moments when you find yourself busy.” She rolled her neck, coaxing out a small series of relaxing pops (and one not-so-relaxing one; curse these joints!). “Yes, Haven is truly a wonderful city, is it not? It’s easy to forget how nice things are once enough time has passed; it pays to be reminded just how fortunate we are. Ha, and if you run into Althea at the temple, be sure to pay her those compliments; she works harder than most to maintain it.”
She tilted her head and sat upright at the mention of family. “Ah, is that so? May I ask who? I am quite familiar with our residents.”
Hm hm, but the youth never could fill their curiosity. She couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, Kai, you give me far too much credit! I am just a troublesome old woman. Ah, but no, I have not travelled as much as I would have liked; I used to live on the other side of Ethea, and once Moira and I took a vacation to tour around Ikigai.” She rested her cheek in her clawed hand, a happy grin on her face. Oh, those were such good times. “But I do not mind; there is much beauty in our little slice of the world, and still so many more experiences to be had.”
