At some point, Azalea is going to allow Tatara to return her to the reincarnation cycle (assuming she doesn't achieve true death before then). However, just because I know this, doesn't mean I'm going to stop spending money on her to test and try out the new ghost abilities and what not in the mean time. This is where this train of thought comes from. I'm being upfront about this as a gesture of good faith and confidence.
Right now, outside of IC RP reasons, there's very little incentive for a ghost to return to Tatara. While I realize making one risks having newer people making ghosts simply with the purpose of reincarnating them to achieve benefits for a character, it would be nice if all the time, effort, and gold invested in to a ghost didn't completely vanish when a ghost finally finds peace in their afterlife and is ready to return to the cycle of reincarnation.
Currently, to avoid abuse, I'd recommend to either handle reincarnation bonuses on a case-by-case basis (if you choose to implement them at all), or tie it to something like gold spent or post count. I am not suggesting a 1:1 ratio of return. It would just be cool to introduce some sort of legacy for reincarnated peoples.
It could be explained as souls are handled by the Gods, rather than within the mortal confines of space and time allowing things to happen in ways that seem impossible to mortals. Alternately, it could be the soul is placed in an android that has become truly sentient, or a person is brought from death by medical personnel (revitalizing after a person would be considered dead), but instead of the old soul returning, a person is reincarnated in that manner to explain a huge personality shift that follows.
I don't know exactly how I'd want it to work mechanically. I'd like it to be something other than an additional starting ability or gold, or anything that can be replicated with posts. Nothing that gives a mechanical edge over others, but something that gives a nod to the fact that this person is not merely a "new character".
I realize I'm not giving a specific idea of how to implement this. I'm too biased on this subject to be objective, so I'm merely sharing my thoughts and ideas for you, the staff, to think over.
