Recently news has come through Ikigai that a strangely thick fog has fallen over one of the islands in Kakishima. It is already quite dangerous to navigate through the islands, but the fog has made it even worse. It completely surrounds one of the islands in a thick, almost swirling cloud that utterly consumes and obstructs the view of the landmass within. There is very little knowledge that can be gained about this island, but what's been gathered so far is:
1) The fog is unnatural in nature. it is abnormally thick and has not dissipated or thinned at all through days and nights. It also swirls slowly around the island even if the wind does not blow in such a way.
2) No one is aware of what caused the fog's appearance. One day it simply showed up and people could see it faintly from the shorelines of Homura, which is how it got reported.
3) No one knows what lurks within the fog other than the island.
4) It is very dangerous to navigate to the fog covered island due to the already dangerous course through Kakishima and now the added difficulty the fog poses.

The Homura authorities do not know what to make of it. Though they have cautioned normal citizens away from exploring, they have asked for aid from anyone who would venture forth to discover the fog's nature and its cause.

In truth the fog is being caused by a Spirit that resides on the island, along with another. The two are mates, only one of them has gotten injured by yet another Spirit they encountered. Worried, the two had landed on the island and the still healthy one had created to fog to obscure them both from view should the aggressive Spirit return. Their only concern is attempting to heal to wounded Spirit the other now tries to tend to.

The only risk that would appear here is if a character were to provoke the Spirits rather than try to assist them in helping the injured one. The still healthy Spirit is still very powerful and could slay anyone who is not fairly strong or prepared to fight. otherwise, this particular mission has a high chance of being solved peacefully rather than aggressively.
