WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: LYNX The silence of Stella and Luca's travels had come to a unexpected halt. A female voice, calling out over a distance, addressing Luca from afar. The girl had become quite used to people wanting to speak to Luca. Initially, Stella had considered most of them weird or strange. For Maevia Stella may well have categorised her as a bit of both. Yet, the more they traveled and the more individuals they met, the more Stella came to realise, that her kind, the Magi, were all a strange bunch in their own rights. Taking a few steps away, Stella wasn't too interested in dealing with Maevia. Food and shower took precedent. The moth wings protruding from her ragged clothing were fluttering from side to side, warm and brimming, basking in the light of the sun, reflecting a gentle blue tone, that was also reflected in the girls eyes. The girl wasn't paying much attention to the meeting, at least not initially, instead scouting the area for anything that could be a delicious snack. The scouting was interrupted when Maevia addressed the girl directly, and uttered a word, which resonated strangely with the tiny creature. Stella... Stella slowly raised a hand to her head. If Stella's mind had been a library, with several rows of neatly placed bookshelves, that single delicate word had started a chain reaction, toppling the entirety like dominoes. It made her feel uncomfortable, and she became aware that she had forgotten. Forgotten something important.
Turning around slowly, she soon found herself face to face with a kneeling man, his face so strangely close to her own, his expression so despererately attempting to get closer to her. Normally any encounter like this had scared her off on the spot, but now, she wasn't frightened, for she wasn't feeling threathened. Still, her body was reacting immediately. Within her chest, her heart was pounding, as if racing towards the end of the world, as if attempting to remind the girl of who she was. The color of her wings and eyes were bleeding away, leaving a bland white color in its wake, a white sheet of paper, that had yet to be written upon, unsullied, pure. The man uttered the same word. Stella... The word kept echoing through her mind. The girl was reminded of someone.. A woman, who had used to say this word. A woman, with hands soft as silk, and an embrace where Stella had used to feel so safe, so loved. Mommy..? There was another figure with the woman. A figure who she couldn't remember... Water was welling up in the girl's eyes, as she stood there frozen, in a moment that for her stretched half an eternity.
Sniffing her nose, a strange, alluring scent was caressing her senses. A scent that she could've sworn was identical to something she knew from long past. When Stella had been young, from an age she could barely recall anymore, there was this wool blanket on the couch in the girl's home. Whenever Stella had been on the couch, or felt cold, or been sick, he had always wrapped her in it, kissed her forehead and called her...
Princess?
The girl shattered.
Drip... Drip... Drip...
The girl's jaw had slightly dropped, the expression on her face gone completely blank, as she stared at Elijah's face. From her cheeks, onto the soft dirt below, rhythmic as if music, clear pearly tears drummed the soil. The world was feeling to her as if it was quaking below her, trembling. Wobbling forward weakly, the girl wrapped her arms around his head, her face pressed against his neck, her warm tears caressing his skin. Soft sounds of anguish, loneliness and suffering.. Noises akin to sobbing, yet distorted by the torture inflicted upon her voice. Feelings that had been bottled up and hidden inside her for so many years, expressed to the only one that could truly understand her feelings. The pain of having lost ones dearest family. The feeling of being reunited after so long. Only Elijah knew... That is when, for the first time, Stella's wings and eyes portrayed this specific new color. The white was sparkling and shifting, tones of silver dancing playfully across the surface of the winged tissue. The edges of her wings were so bright and pure, as the girl's magi blood awakened. Looking upon her, was akin to gazing upon a gentle moon. With every passing moment she was interlocked in father's arms, it was clear that she beamed brighter. Elijah would feel her desperately clinging to him, her nails digging into him like claws, as if she thought him a distant dream that, if she let go for even a moment, would slip through her tiny fingers. An outcome she would never again experience...
D.. Daddy!!!

[attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"] SILENT SUPPORT Maevia stepped aside and allowed the reunion to take place. She gently touched Luca’s shoulder to indicate that he could take a few steps back with her. She leaned over and whispered to him, careful to keep her voice low so the reunited family could have their moment in peace. “That little girl you’ve been watching is named Stella Kingsley,” she said. “Elijah is … a family friend of mine, let’s say. These two were separated at the turn of the outbreaks from the camps, and ever since, he has been looking for her. I’ve been helping. That’s why he brought me here.” Even the icy Maevia had to smile at the sight of the two embracing. Gods. It was finally over. They found one another. It seemed almost unreal; she was watching the results of eight years of endless searching, both by her and by Elijah. All the work, the dead ends, the leads… the culmination of which was before her, and to see the two together… made it entirely worth the trouble. Her job was done. She sighed. “It’s not all happy, unfortunately,” she continued to Luca. “Her mother, his wife… she died after Stella was taken. It’s likely she doesn’t know. As well… neither knows what happened to the other. The hunters took Elijah’s sight for resisting. Stella… well, you know she cannot speak.” She closed her eye and tilted her head downward. “There’s no word for how horrible both have been treated. But they do have each other again now; I suppose that’s more than many could say.” She opened her eye and watched the loving scene unfold before her. Father and daughter… She felt a little chill in her core. Perhaps she’d stop in Camlorn for a few hours, instead of going back to Dagos right away. She turned to Luca and gave him a nod. “I’m glad you found her. She could not have found more caring hands.” ===== Tags: Elijah Kingsley Luca Burke Stella Kingsley Notes: Fades back into the shadows [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:285px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#000000;border:solid 1px #000000;color:#e4e0e0;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:10px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#000000;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#9589a0;border:2px solid #e4e0e0;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face The world had evolved around him.
It was a solitary small atmosphere where everything else had ceased to exist. It was just him. Him and the small child that he had searched for so exhaustively for.
Elijah listened for anything. Anything. His ears burned from the silence. His mind's pinpointed focus strained for every vibration, no matter how minute. He yearned for any movement, any response to the name of his long lost loved one.
... Drip.
The man flinched at the delicate imposition of the earth. It was so soft, barely existing. But to him it echoed so powerfully. Holding his breath the man waited. Would the young person reject him? Were they even sure this was who he had been searching f--?
A heavy shudder traveled through his body as the small arms wrapped around him. A gasp could be heard as the face nestled into his neck, tears being felt against his goose bumped skin. As the first cries reached his ears the father grit his teeth openly. "Prin..." His propped leg would give way under the weight of the moment.
Now a man upon his knees shaking hands would rise up.Each trembling under the fear that the person that held so dearly to him would shatter if he treated her anything other than a porcelain preciousness. The left hand would brush against the girl's soft strands of hair first. There would be a brief sense of wonder as a coarse finger stroked the silken locks before he dared to follow its guidance.
A tiny ear. Taking the time to trace the earlobe Elijah would then allow his fingers to bury themselves into girl's hair. Regardless of the calloused nature his fingers had taken on, testament to his work ethic, his touch was delicate. With love he cradled the child's head into himself. "Princess, I'm so sorry." He was finally able to whisper through emotionally clenched teeth. Bowing his head into her he allowed himself to take in her scent. How he'd missed her so terribly. Words could not describe how much the aroma both healed and shattered him.
"I am so sorry." The right hand, conscientious of his daughter's wings, would find the small of the child's back. A strong arm would embrace her as closely as he could without causing harm. It wouldn't matter if the little girl lost the ability to hold her own weight given the scene's intensity, she would go no where. Stella was in her father's arms now.
He would be only vaguely aware of the nails digging into his skin. There would be no reaction or response honestly. If anything there would be joy. He was holding his little girl again. "I love you." Elijah would speak into the girl's hair following a kiss to the top of her head. "I love you so much." For the first time in years tears streamed down his cheeks freely. Uninhibited. "I've waited so long to tell you that. I love you more than you'll ever know. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to tell you that for so long."
His daughter's form would shake with each heart breaking sob. How many times had she cried in his absence? How many times had she needed someone to hold her and he hadn't been there? "I'm so sorry." Eight years. Eight long hellish years. But she was here now. And gods help the soul that tried to take her from his arms now.
The earth magi would be unaware of any visual beauty his daughter would be displaying unfortunately. In turn he would be oblivious to his own visible signs of joy at being reunited with his most precious of daughters. As his hair was known for doing on occasion his dreads would blossom to life with tiny flowers. He'd never felt ashamed or emasculated by the magi trait except for a brief amount of time in his awkward teenage years. Now would be no exception even when he became aware of them or their sweet scent. Later informings by those watching on he would be told that it would have paled in comparison to his daughter's display of beauty anyways. A fact that would cause him to smile with pride. when it's only in my memory Minnie of GS

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Luca resisted the cyborg’s pull at first, wanting to stay close to the child he had spent so long watching over. He wanted to stay, and hold onto her, and assure her she was alright and she didn’t need to cry… but that was not his place here. So, reluctantly, he let Maevia pull him aside, listening to her words mutely while he fought the urge to go back. This was not a moment for him. Throughout her explanation of the situation, he stood half dazed, slowly processing what he heard while he watched the scene between father and daughter unfold. Eight years, according to Maevia. It had been eight years since Elijah and Stella had seen one another. And you helped make it that long, whispered a dark little voice in his head, twisting his gut and making his heart feel cold with a mix of dread and guilt. Desperately, Luca tried to ignore it in favor of the joy that wanted to surge within him for the sake of these two people. It had been so long, and both had lost so much… To have a reunion like this himself, to see either of his own parents again… In that moment, he thought he could very well give just about anything. Eventually, he turned to Maevia with a meek smile. “I… well, maybe,” he replied, not quite willing to take on the title of “most caring” just yet. “… You know, I was beginning to think the little one— Stella… I didn’t think she would have anyone left… I’m glad I was wrong.” The smile gave way to a faint, worried frown as he looked back to the embracing pair. “Does he know? About… about what happened to his daughter?” [newclass=.joker]width: 360px; height: 140px; padding: 20px; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .joker]background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.game]text-align:center; line-height: 9px; margin-top:10px;opacity:0;font:bold 10px Roboto; color: #ffffff; text-transform: uppercase; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-delay: .3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.game a]font:bold 17px Roboto; font-weight: 900; color: #ffffff;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .game]margin-top:0px;opacity:1;transition-delay: .3s; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.ninety]width:400px;height:180px;background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/VcCe39g.jpg?1);[/newclass] [newclass=.kikan]width: 65px; height: 65px; border: 1px solid #0; transform: rotate(45deg); z-index: 2; margin-top: -27px; margin-bottom: -39px; filter: grayscale(100%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%);-moz-filter: grayscale(100%);[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .kikan]filter: grayscale(0%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(0%);-moz-filter: grayscale(0%); transition: 0.6s; transition-timing-function: linear;[/newclass][googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Open+Sans]

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: LYNX The near desperate tackle performed by a girl longing desperately for this embrace could've almost knocked Elijah onto the ground, if not for the physical weight, then for the emotional. Stella must've felt strangely heavy, despite being so incredibly lightweight. The pulsating moonlight shimmered through her wings from the core of her being, as they fluttered gently in the sunlight. The moment lasted an eternity, perhaps even longer. Eventually though, the embrace had to come to an end. There were so many questions, so many things she wanted to ask him. It wasn't that Stella was aware that Elijah was blind, nor was there any thought to it. Whenever she had had to communicate with someone, she had been forced to do so through Luca. It was so few, especially among magi, that actually spoke sign language. So, the girl gently tugged her father's hand, before attempting to lead him over to Luca.
Beaming brightly at Luca, the lunar-moth signed a little hazily. Luca, this is father. Father, this is my brother. Luca and Stella had been through quite a few adventures together. When noone else had been there, Luca was always going out of his way to assist the tiny girl. As such, she had begun calling him something else. Big brother. Naturally, they weren't related by blood, but by something just as strong. Luca was part of her family now, and she was clearly excited about introducing him to Elijah. The girl didn't sense the awkwardness of her not replying to Elijah. The girl didn't consider that he was unaware of her speech being cut away. This was the girls life, and she had given it no second thought. So the confusion that she started sensing from Elijah was met with an exactly equally puzzled expression. Was something wrong?

[attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"] THE BAD NEWS “I can see why,” she said. “Most wander alone and homeless because they don’t have anyone left for them. Neither knew if the other was alive. It was nearly impossible to find her; we had nothing to go on for the longest time. I didn’t even know what she looked like until recently. Thank the gods you were the one who found her, Luca, rather than some slaver or hunter.” The thought made her uneasy. She dealt with both parties frequently, but something about it being so personal made her uncomfortable. When Luca asked his question, Maevia closed her eyes as if the words were painful to hear. “…No. He doesn’t. It happened after she was taken from him.” She watched Stella pull away and start signing to him, and her heart sank lower. “Same with his… blindness. She couldn’t know that, either.” Gods, how would they communicate? This just occurred to Maevia. He was blind, she was mute, and neither were a candidate for cybernetic replacements. Maybe she could get Stella a portable text-to-speech computer and she could learn how to type. Maybe they could communicate via magic. She sighed. If only the happy reunion wasn’t marred by their individual tragedies, it could have been the biggest celebration in the world. Hell, it probably still was but… someone had to break the news. Ruin the moment. She was the outsider here, the facilitator of this meeting, so it had to be her. No doubt Elijah was wondering what Stella was doing. “Elijah,” she said softly. Hesitantly. Painfully. “She’s… signing. She wants you to meet Luca, the one who has been watching her this whole time. Her… big brother.” She took a shaky breath. “Elijah, she can’t… she can’t speak.” She turned to look at Stella with an expression of pained sympathy. She was going to tell her Elijah couldn’t see, but she turned away and shook her head. He should be the one to say it. She had no idea how to break news to a child, and it wasn’t her place. ===== Tags: Elijah Kingsley Luca Burke Stella Kingsley Notes: Ow [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:285px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#000000;border:solid 1px #000000;color:#e4e0e0;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:10px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#000000;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#9589a0;border:2px solid #e4e0e0;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face The moment could have lasted hours, it could have lasted days. The embrace would remain unfaltering regardless as time would tick away. If he were told that the leaves had begun to change color by the time he stood, he wouldn't have been surprised. Ages were needed. Eras were essential for this experience. The processing of it. That this was really happening. That within the realms of reality there was him holding closely his daughter after so very long. There would be no telling how much time had passed for the blind man. But when he felt the child in his arms begin to wiggle within his grasp he recognized the sensation as a wishing to be released.
.... It was not immediate. The request needed its own time to register. Every fiber of his being didn't want to let go of the little girl but he supposed it wasn't realistic to go through the remainder of their lives in a hug filled to the brim with longevity. There would be one last kiss upon the head before Elijah's arms obeyed. Through the earth Elijah could sense the girl rocking from her tip toes to back to her heels. Although his arms no longer embraced her a calloused hand refused to let go. Thankfully his daughter didn't seem to object, gripping the hand back with a comparingly tinier hand.
Sniffing once as he attempted to collect himself Elijah allowed Stella to guide him. Oh, that was right. There was a world about them that consisted of more than just Elijah and his daughter. It would be in a fascinatingly unveiling manner that the world would solidify once again. A perimeter growing outwards where the center was Elijah. With tear streams still drying upon his cheeks he cleared his throat once. Seemed his little girl wanted to converse with the other two adults who had helped make this reunion possible. And so he would stand and wait with a patient soft smile ....
For Maevia to speak.
Her words themselves brought about a warm feeling in his chest. There had been someone in Stella's life whom had been there for her. Without thinking a second longer the man reached out to grab this Luca's shoulder and attempt to pull him into a one armed hug. A powerful one. "Thank you for being there for my little girl. I am indebted to you." The arm would release Luca before another crack of the back could be heard and he'd offer another sniffed smile. "You are family."
But in the back of his mind Elijah couldn't help but feel a chilled winter's sleet threatening. Maevia had been the one to verbalize Stella's thoughts, not her herself. As he further considered he realized that not once had he received a "love you too" or "daddy". At the time it hadn't mattered much. They were together again. But the more his mind ripped apart the memories of just the last life experience he'd lived the more it felt like he was drowning.
Signing. The freezing waters of dread continued to rise and rise. There was something he didn't know. There was something he hadn't been told. As he released Luca and unconsciously gripped his daughter's hand tighter, his breathing would halt. His heartbeat was climbing to heights where even his ears throbbed beneath its tempo. What was it? What was wrong?
“Elijah, she can’t… she can’t speak.”
.... The flowers that had just bloomed under the embrace of his little girl now drained of color. As quickly as they had grown they now withered. Flush green vines now crumbled away as if dry dead chaff from a fire. Vibrant blossoms now collapsed upon themselves and fell limp, dropping to the ground as heavily as his facial expression. "... w--...?"
Looking down to the small being who held his hand Elijah's brows furrowed harshly. "Did ... did someone hurt you?" The question came out in a hurtful air with what little breath his lungs had been able to hold. Regardless if the answer came in the form of a nod or a verbal confirmation from one of the two adults watching the ground itself would begin to tremor. The very earth they stood upon would crack with a violent suddeness. The minor earth quake would be noticed by a few magi outside of this conversation but would thus far not find it worrisome. Perhaps a teenaged earth magi had just stubbed their toe. It was not a matter to get concerned of. At least not yet. when it's only in my memory Minnie of GS

[attr="class","ig"] [attr="class","kikan"] Almost unconscious of the action, Luca stiffened as Stella led her father their way, growing nervous now that the elder magi’s attention was being directed towards them. What would he have to say to the man who had helped keep his daughter from him? What would he do…? Of course, first there was the matter of the young one’s inability to communicate with Elijah. Perhaps fortunately, Maevia was the first to speak, as his own hesitation kept him mute for a while longer. Initially, things started off relatively well, although Luca did let out an involuntary squeak as the earth magi dragged him into a hug. “I-I um— it’s— you really don’t—“ he stammered, and likely would have continued to had he not been stopped by one word. “Family.” Blinking in surprise, Luca instantly fell silent, staring up at the other magi even though he couldn’t see him. Slowly, a tentative smile worked its way onto his features. “… You’re welcome. That… that means a lot…” But then Maevia went on, elaborating somewhat on why little Stella wasn’t talking aloud. It was easy to detect the change in the other man, even without the wilting flowers and crumbling vines in his hair. The news of his daughter’s condition had hit hard, as one might expect. But… this was something Elijah needed to know so, tentatively, Luca raised his own voice to clarify further. “From… from what I could tell, it’s an old wound. Someone—“ The earth began to tremble, and he stopped. Even without especially strong Empathy, it was easy to tell there was a great rage building beneath Elijah’s stony visage. Almost without thinking, he reached out toward the other magi, and would try to establish a grip on his free arm. If this was successful, he would begin to carefully push with his Sympathy, working to focus on a sense of calm, rather than the jittery nerves rising within him. “Elijah…?” [newclass=.joker]width: 360px; height: 140px; padding: 20px; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .joker]background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4); -moz-transition: 3s all; -webkit-transition: 3s all; -o-transition: 3s all; transition: 1s all;[/newclass][newclass=.game]text-align:center; line-height: 9px; margin-top:10px;opacity:0;font:bold 10px Roboto; color: #ffffff; text-transform: uppercase; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-delay: .3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.game a]font:bold 17px Roboto; font-weight: 900; color: #ffffff;[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .game]margin-top:0px;opacity:1;transition-delay: .3s; -webkit-transition-duration:.3s;transition-duration:.3s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass][newclass=.ninety]width:400px;height:180px;background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/VcCe39g.jpg?1);[/newclass] [newclass=.kikan]width: 65px; height: 65px; border: 1px solid #0; transform: rotate(45deg); z-index: 2; margin-top: -27px; margin-bottom: -39px; filter: grayscale(100%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%);-moz-filter: grayscale(100%);[/newclass][newclass=.ig:hover .kikan]filter: grayscale(0%);-webkit-filter: grayscale(0%);-moz-filter: grayscale(0%); transition: 0.6s; transition-timing-function: linear;[/newclass][googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Open+Sans]
