KUPIEC GOD OF | |||||
| |||||
APPEARANCE Pronounciation: - Traditional .... Coo - pee - eh - tz - Modern ........ Coo - pee - eh - ck How the Culture Perceives Him: Kupiec has never had any temples. The only statue known of that is "full size" (approximately nine feet tall) can be found in the center of the Stock Market. Any other statues are smaller ones found at most stores' registers. Even large corporations tend to follow this tradition. These statues tend to be of a tall slender man standing with a proud arrogance in traditional Sherwani attire. The face is generally not detailed, leaving it blank and smooth. How He Actually appears: For the most part, mortals got it right. He does generally appear as a tall slender man. The attire has been updated from traditional clothing to a suit and tie. The face is eerily the same as well. There isn't one. When he wishes to speak to mortals a haunting ripping can be witnessed as a mouth will appear through the disturbing tearing of his skin. The mouth is wider than is considered normal. The teeth tends to be of the sharper variety as well as a tongue that is longer and almost serpent like if ever allowed to extend outwards. Although he overall (besides the mouth and lack of face) appears to be a taller humanoid, he has been known by those who have witnessed him to instantaneously grow additional arms from his back. If he grows enough of them he can come across as an arachnid in form.
PERSONALITY
POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES - Is the most involved with the lives of mortals out of all the Deities. When mortals ask for his help and summon him he will actually appear. - He is not overly prideful. Kupiec knows he's not the strongest deity and is at peace with it. Even if a mortal were to point it out he'd shrug it off. Kupiec is comfortable with who he is and what he can do. NEGATIVE ATTRIBUTES - He sees mortals as his entertainment. If he takes a deal it's for enjoyment, it's not out of sincere concern for the wish maker. Yes, he may find a few favorite mortals whom he'll take personal joy in making continuous deals with, even become rather fond of them. But at the core of it, it's so his favorite metaphoric television show doesn't get cancelled. - Is very precise with his wording. This is a positive trait for him but in relation to everyone else it definitely is not. When making a deal a mortal would be wise to choose their words very carefully, leaving very little room for loophole interpretation. WEAKNESSES - Cannot kill a mortal, feed from a mortal or take of their soul without the mortal's permission. This is due to a mortal tricking Kupiec in an ancient dealing. Only loophole of this is in getting a parent to sign over their unborn children to Kupiec. Since the baby does not exist yet, the permission is coming from the source of its DNA. - Cannot enter a place that has a threshold (the strip of wood, metal, or stone forming the bottom of a doorway that when crossed is then entering a house) without permission by someone who is already inside. It doesn't have to be the owner, or anyone that spends alot of time there. Just someone that is currently inside the place. This is also due to a mortal tricking Kupiec in an ancient dealing. - Cannot turn down the chance to make a deal. He adores making deals. Kupiec may try to change the conditions to where he gets more or the wish maker gets less. But he does absolutely love making deals.
VERY BRIEF HISTORY Kupiec has always been a god that enjoys being entertained by the happenings of mortals as far back as he can remember. The god discovered early on that he enjoyed interacting with mankind and did so as often as he could. When these deals seemed to conclude with the wish maker becoming more financially wealthy Kupiec's accepted image soon shifted to being the god of merchants and gaining wealth. Is this necessarily true? No, it's not. Kupiec makes all softs of dealings. The god rarely if ever gives a mortal something for nothing. But, as most gods find their images through the eyes of mortals, it has been shifted to such regardless. One can find small Kupiec statues in nearly every sort of store there is in hopes the god will bless their store with a good day in sales. If a mortal finds themselves wishing for something but have no natural means of obtaining it. You might be tempted to summon the god for what I can describe as a fascinatingly spine chilling conversation. Just be warned, be careful what you wish for ....
RELIGIOUS SECT Preferred Offerings: Being known as the god of Business and Commerce the offering that is most often seen is currency. This is usually done after a purchase at a store and the change is often placed at the small statue's collection foundation. The origins of this are based on folklore that stated that if the change was still at the statue's feet come the next day it was the god's blessing for the company to pocket the money themselves in order to keep money circulating in assisting the economy. In reality however, for those that are fortunate (or unfortunate) to know, Kupiec enjoys feasting on living animal sacrifices. If you want to have a positive impression on the god offer him something to eat and he'll gladly enjoy the offering. Though it is worth noting that the god would much prefer human flesh, especially children, and even moreso a human's soul. If a mortal brings him such a sacrifice before asking for a deal, Kupiec may be less rigorous when making the conditions. Most Common Followers: - Anyone in business (buyer, seller, legal merchandise or not) - Anyone who has or is planning to make a deal with him Possible Blessings and Gifts - A plot furthering deal - Actual money that a character can spend on the site ranging from $50 to $100
