Although Wren generally didn’t like being alone, there were times when he was far too exhausted to possess his android host body long enough to actually have a somewhat normal interaction... And, as long as he wasn’t hungry and couldn’t talk to anyone, there was little difference between being in the middle of a crowd or being completely on his own in the middle of the woods... which is where the ghost found himself today. At the base of an overgrown willow tree sat a lanky man who had his eyes closed and his hands limply resting, palm-up, on either side of his body. His back and head were supported by the trunk of the willow, and every so often when the wind blew, his warm brown hair would flutter out of his face in a way that almost seemed similar to the long grass around him. The scene was a peaceful one... but upon further inspection, not quite normal. The longer one looked at the lanky man that sat at the base of the tree, the more frozen he appeared; in fact, if one looked long enough, the stillness would make him look more and more like a lifeless corpse and less and less like an actual human. This man was actually merely a doll; an empty android host body reserved for Wrentham to possess and leave as he pleased. If one could actually see ghosts, the only thing they’d need to do to spy the body’s usual puppeteer would be to look up into the branches of the willow tree. It was there that the actual Wren sat, outstretched on a branch with one leg crossed over the other. Like the hollow body below, his eyes, too, were closed... But it was rather obvious that he wasn’t able to sleep — ghosts didn’t need sleep, after all. He was also a great deal shorter (six whole inches shorter, in fact) than his physical body... and he looked almost a decade younger. This appearance, though, didn’t reflect his true age, of course. Why was he sitting there, adjusting himself every so often in such an impatient manner? Wren was merely trying to waste time as his strength slowly returned to him so he could possess his usual host body below for another extended amount of time. open

Another day, another....day? Money didn't really matter all that much to Lelianna. Well other than fueling her wild, totally-not-an-obsession garden she had planted near her house. She needed money to get those seeds, and seeds to make more additions. By that was neither here nor there and I'm getting off topic.
What Lelianna was up to was another one of her daily treks through the woods. Mostly it was to monitor how the very forest itself was doing. Assist in some growth, make sure none of the trees were dying or inflicted with disease, and moreover just listening to what the plants had to tell her. Oh, it wasn't anything like a "true" language. No words or verbal communication. What it was centered on was feeling. Lelianna merely felt what the trees, flowers, and brambles had to tell her. Almost as though she could feel Arecia's emotions. Right now it was still groggy coming off of winter. Yet even so there was the sign it was waking up once more, like a bear coming out of hibernation. Now here Lelianna was in her element. She trod through the undergrowth with a faint smile on her lips. This all came quite naturally to her (pun intended).
Until she saw the random motionless body of course.
"Oh! Um..." Lelianna started, pausing in her steps. It really seemed like a number of people were coming into the woods lately! Was there some sort of event she hadn't heard about (which was possible with her being a hermit) going on? "Ah, excuse me?" She called out tentatively at first. Coming a little closer, Lelianna stayed a bit on her guard. From what she could see, it wasn't a Magi. At least, she couldn't see anything that would clue her in on that. However oddly enough she didn't seem to be getting any response. "Um, hello?" Lelianna followed up, her tone a little more curious this time.

"Oh! Um... Ah... Excuse me..." Because Wrentham was unable to actually sleep, hearing the voice coming from down below wasn't an issue. Even before that, the ghost had heard the approaching stranger's footsteps; however, with how asocial most were around those that they didn't know, he hadn't actually expected the person to try an initiate a conversation. Still being too weary to actually possess his android body for any extended amount of time, the ghost waited for a moment, wondering if the mortal would leave on her own if he didn't do anything. He opened one of his bright green eyes to examine her. Unfortunately, it seemed as if she had no intention of leaving, even after being completely ignored... The closer the girl actually got to his empty body, the more uncomfortable Wren became. Although there wasn't really anything technically wrong with anyone finding out about his "circumstances," it wasn't as if he actually wanted to broadcast them. If he lost this body, he doubted that there was another available one out there that resembled him as closely as this one did. "Um, hello?" Realizing that this girl was too curious for her own good, Wren let out a soft sigh. Even if he couldn't manage to possess his own large body, the ghost came to the conclusion that he wouldn't be able to just sit and watch the scene unfold as casually as he may've liked. Using the least amount of energy possible, Wren used his aura skill to try and instill fear into the stranger. Meanwhile, he jumped down off of the tree branch he was on and quickly floated over. Once his searching gaze fell upon a broken piece of tree branch on the ground near the woman's feet, he didn't hesitate to possess the small object -- considering how little energy it took to do so in comparison to his own body -- and loosely slither it to wrap around the stranger's ankle. Maybe with this, she'd leave.

Yeah that boy wasn't moving. Even when Lelianna called out. Surely he hadn't....Frozen, had he? And standing straight up like that? Lelianna frowned and focused on the cold for a few silent heartbeats...yeah no, it didn't see so cold that anyone might abruptly freeze into a statue. "I don't think anyone can turn into ice in this particular cold..." It didn't come out as loud this time since the boy (or body, at this point) didn't appear to be responding at all. Lelianna kept moving forward, her curiosity growing more and more with each step. At that moment though, Wren caused the branch to slither around her ankle.
Lelianna tripped a bit over it, stumbling forward even more with a panicked "Whoaaahooaah!" and slightly flailing arms. Thank the gods for her staff! It helped her not fall flat on her face (which has happened before). Once that frightening incident was over, she glanced down at her foot. Upon immediately seeing the branch, she glared towards one of the trees with a scrunched up face. Incidentally, the very tree Wren had been in. "Hey! that's not very nice you know!" She protested. Of course, she wasn't talking to Wren. She had no idea the ghost was there. I mean really, how could she?
What she did know is that a certain forest liked to play similar pranks on her.
After giving the stink eye to the nearby trees (and for once it wasn't even their fault! How ironic), Lelianna tried to get rid of the branch before moving closer to Wren's physical body. It was...No one Lelianna has seen before. At first she was hesitant to get much closer than an arm's length of the figure. But after another tentative "Hello...?" gained her nothing, she stepped just a bit closer to really observe this person. At least she assumed it was a person. Judging from the body's nearly vacant expression, she wasn't really sure now. "Ah...Anybody home?" She even waved her hand n the person's face experimentally. Rude maybe, but this was really weird.

"Hey! that's not very nice you know!" Currently inhabiting the root that was attempting to twist its way around the magi’s ankle, the ghost couldn’t help but feel someone confused by the fact that the girl had openly spoke up against the nearby tree... Could trees understand such words? Wren couldn’t help but think otherwise, considering his own experience with possessing plants... But of course, maybe that experience wasn’t necessarily the most reliable evidence to refer to. "Hello...? ... Ah...Anybody home?" Inwardly clicking his tongue, Wren removed himself from the root that he had originally taken over and walked back to his android host body, staring at it for a few moments as he pursed his lips together in a complicated expression; he wasn’t sure how long he’d be able to possess his body, considering his current energy levels... Five minutes, perhaps? Considering the circumstances, though, it seemed like the ghost didn’t have much of a choice at this point. With a soft sigh, he stepped back into the body that he’d left sitting at the base of the tree. It took a second or two for the ghost to fully gain control over it, at which point, his bright green eyes slowly flickered open to greet the stranger that had so rudely decided to approach... And although Wren wanted nothing more to tell her to buzz off, his usual friendly (but dense) facade wouldn’t allow him to tell her to go fuck herself. ”Huh...? Who are you...?” Wren asked in a voice that made it seem as if he’d just woken up, ”... Am I not supposed to be here?” He asked another question, making it seem as if he were nervous that the person in front of him was about to kick him out of his current location. Of course, even if she tried to, Wren would probably only make it maybe a hundred yards away before collapsing due to exhaustion... And being completely collapsed on the ground was probably asking for more trouble than the current sitting position that he was currently in. At least he looked a little more natural in the position he was currently in.

Something was realllllllly off about all this. The fact the boy wasn't responding at all was kind of alarming. Worse and worse scenarios were starting to play through her head. had he been posioned by something and his body locked up? If that was the case, how in the world had he gotten poisoned? Or stuck as he was in the first place? Lelianna leaned in a little closer, concern coloring her expression. She was trying to see if this guy was even responding. Heck, was he even breathing? Maybe it was just a really well done statue. "Are yo-"
His bright green eyes slowly flickered open to greet the stranger.
Oh holy shit, yup he was alive alright!
"WAAAHHAHAH" Comically Lelianna scrambled backwards, tripping over her feet to land on her butt. By the gods she wasn't expecting that! "Owww....." She moaned, rubbing her injured behind before glancing back up it the....quite nervous looking guy before her. "S-Sorry! Ouch..." With a little sharp intake of breath, Lelianna stood back up. Considerably further away from Wren this time. Her cheeks were bright red for a number of reasons, and she smiled sheepishly at the stranger. "Oh, um, no you can be here." She assured him, dusting off the back of her pants. "I-I was just....Y-you weren't, ah...." Wow, words were hard. Pausing for a moment, Lelianna tried to harness the power of speaking efficiently again. "Um....You weren't moving or anything s-so I ah, got worried....is all." The last bit of it came out in a mumble. Somehow she felt bad about all this. "I didn't mean to be rude, but when you didn't say anything...." She trailed off. "Anyways....yeah.....sorry.....Oh um, I'm Lelianna."

To be honest, Wren wasn’t expecting the stranger to act so embarrassed in response to him just merely “waking up.” Hell... her overreaction to him just opening his eyes was entertaining in its own right (and enough to him to even feed on, had he been hungry enough to in the first place). Offering a weak but comforting smile, the ghost made sure to keep any of his body’s movements to a minimum in order to conserve what little energy he had to control it. ”You were worried about me?” He offered as a way to finish the statements that she wasn’t quite finishing herself, ”That’s nice of you... Sorry to have worried you.” Despite the warmth his smile gave off, his eyebrows bent in a way that showed off what seemed to be an expression full of guilt. ”I didn’t think anyone would find me passed out here...” The ghost continued his words at a relaxed pace, despite how hurried he actually felt, ”At least you’re a nice person... and not someone who’d rob me while I was out...” He offered a weak laugh that somehow retained most of its warmth, ”Not that I have anything valuable to take, though.” ”Are you okay?” Wren changed the subject and asked with the same worried expression, still unmoving, ”You didn’t hurt yourself falling down just then, did you, Lelianna?” He made a point of using her name, since for some reason, people generally liked it when he did that. It was a natural habit he’d picked up after years of watching others’ reactions (and how awkward and flustered some simple people would get after hearing their own name... how comical).

Ok so he was smiling. That was a good thing. At least he didn't seem to mind, or at least had forgiven her for getting all up in his face. Lelianna offered him a kind smile back, still a little awkward. Since, y'know, she'd been startled and (to be fair) had been a little rude going right up to him like that. "I just...I didn't know if you'd gotten frozen or something. I mean, I-I figured it wasn't that cold anymore." Lelianna responded. Yeah maybe she'd overthought things. She hadn't seen anybody get frozen solid like a statue before. Then again she hadn't come across an unmoving body in the woods before. She wasn't exactly prepared for these sorts of situations.
Apparently though he'd been passed out. And....wait had he been robbed before? Was this a common thing? Again the concern started flooding into Lelianna's features. She couldn't help it; he was talking so nonchalantly about passing out like that it might've meant he did it a lot. "I would never rob you, I promise! I had no intention of doing that." She assured him sincerely. The very thought of it..... "Um....Do you....do you pass out like this... a lot?" She chanced to asked. "I-I mean if it's personal you don't- actually that probably is pretty personal I'm sorry. I just don't hear about people passing out like that and y'know maybe this was the only time you've done that and-"
Fortunately Wren cut her off mid ramble as her cheeks maintained a pink hue. She blinked, a little embarrassed, but glad she was stopped before making even more of a fool of herself. "Oh! Y-yeah. Yeah I'm fine." She offered him a reassuring smile (if still a little sheepish from the reminder of her little stumble). "It happens. Are, um, you ok though?" He was staying unnaturally still. Talking and replying now, perhaps, but he'd barely moved a finger otherwise. Was he still lightheaded or something?

"I would never rob you, I promise! ... Um....Do you....do you pass out like this... a lot?" Wren kept his head leaned back up against the trunk of the tree behind him; he didn’t feel as if he was about to get himself kicked out of his own host body, yet, but he certainly wasn’t feeling his best at this point. ”Even if you would, there’s not much to take besides my clothes... And you don’t seem like the type of person to be into that kind of stuff.” His smile remained, showing that his words were ones that lacked the seriousness that they otherwise would’ve implied. With her next question, though, the warmth in his expression faded only slightly, ”I guess so. More than most people. It’s not really a big deal, though... Since like I said, there’s nothing to steal.” For someone who’d need to leave his body often, he was used to this whole “passing out” sort of thing. However, the lies that he’d sometimes have to use sometimes rolled off his lips too easily. ”You’re not going to pity me, are you? I don’t like being pitied,” The warm smile he wore quickly morphed into a somewhat playful smirk... And if one was keen enough, it’d be rather obvious at this point that Wren was the one trying to ease the other’s worries instead of vice versa. "Oh! Y-yeah. Yeah I'm fine. ... Are, um, you ok though?" The ghost blinked his bright green eyes a couple of times before his expression changed back into its usual one, which was far more innocent and warm, ”I’ll be back to normal in a couple of hours. Until then, I’ll be off and on...” He didn’t offer more of an explanation than that, since the ghost thought that lying in too much detail would just prove to be a hassle later on. ”I’m Wren, by the way.”

Wren was definitely right about one thing; Lelianna was not that kind of person. Especially when she was a person who had so little clothing to go with in the first places. There were pros and cons to being a hermit. Fortunately she'd never had much of an issue and fashion as a term was dead to her. What she was really focused on was whether or not Wren passed out like this a lot.
Which, according to him, he did.
Again, Lelianna's concern was really shining through on her features. This poor man! But then he had to go and accuse her of pitying him. Of course, the playful smile he added to it took away any fears Lelianna had of actually offending him, but still. "No no, I swear I'm not." She promised. "I just....Well I don't really get to see that many people, but the few I do don't...Well, y'know, pass out all that much around me. or at least I don't think..." Lelianna muttered the last bit with a suddenly suspicious and pensive look on her face. Her nose scrunched up a little as she thought, but soon she was back to the present and focused on the man before her.
Wait, did he say "off and on?"
Was he about to pass out again?
"Oh ah...Do you need something? Do you feel like you're about to....y'know...again?" Man she wished he come know as much about other people as she did about the animals or the very forest. Should she run off and get him something to drink? Would that actually help? Did anything help with this? Maybe she should dash over to Haven...."It's nice to meet you Wren. But ah, is there...anything I can do to help?"

Wren let out another weak laugh in response to the woman’s statement, ”You don’t think?” He repeated her words back to her, ”I’m pretty sure you’re right. I’d hope it’d be obvious if they did.” His eyelids relaxed slightly, making it so that he was mostly just looking at her through his own eyelashes. ”Don’t worry. Everything’s fine. This just happens when I exert myself too much... ... I’ll just be a few minutes...” His voice faded off as he closed his eyes fully, as if he’d just fallen asleep right then and there. It gave Wren a chance to evacuate from the body in order to rejuvenate at least some of his energy. Hell, maybe if he managed to time himself well enough, he could manage to juggle this weird interaction well enough to continue to make it seem as if he was the least bit real. Reaching up to the body that was now next to him, Wren pushed the head of his android host body forward, making it seem a little more like he’d just merely fallen asleep... rather than the strange ejection from the body that had actually happened. Now that he was unable to be seen, Wren pursed his lips together and furrowed his brow in slight frustration, unsure of how to proceed so that he’d get some sort of an ideal outcome. Hell, it’d be nice if the girl in front of him just turned around and walked away, despite the decent meal that she seemed to be offering up, but he doubted that would happen, considering her personality and all.

Lelianna's cheeks turned rosy when she realized he'd actually heard her. She really needed to stop mumbling her inner thoughts; some people actually had good ears. "Well I....I don't really get to see them much so..." Shrugging helplessly, she fully acknowledged the fact that, yes, she was a hermit. Her best friend was either a sloth or a forest. What a healthy social life, right?
Despite Wren's words, Lelianna still worried. Even more so when he shut his eyes and feel even more still. Did he just pass out again? Eyes growing wide, Lelianna dared to scoot a little closer. She didn't want a repeat of her earlier scare. Still, she needed to get closer if she wanted to observe him. She crouched there for a while, and when Wren's head flopped forward she figured he was well and truly out. Well...great. She had no idea what she should be doing. She couldn't just leave him here, right?
So what should she do?
"Oh boy...." She sighed, frowning a little in thought. Well one thing was for sure: he was probably going to hurt his neck positioned like that. After a bit of deliberation, Lelianna sighed. She couldn't leave this guy lying there. Who knows what could happen, especially if he kept passing out like this before he got.....Actually Lelianna had no idea where he came from so that was even more worrisome. After a moment of debate, Lelianna finally shrugged out of the coat she was wearing. Again, it wasn't that cold out. She could handle the cold, and if she really had an issue she could take it back. For now though she carefully and gently positioned it behind Wren's head and leaned him back into it (while desperately praying he didn't wake up anytime soon). Once he was good and comfortable (or at least better off since he "passed out") Lelianna stepped back and sat down at another tree nearby. She should at least wait until he woke up to gauge how he was feeling. Maybe she could get him to Haven before he conked out next time.

After having extracted himself from his physical body, Wren sat himself down on the grass beside his own empty body and the strange girl that had taken it upon herself to act as a “good samaritan.” The current situation somehow left his current mood stuck somewhere between annoyed and humored by the odd stranger. If one was actually able to see him in his current five-foot-six form, they’d see a young adult — no older than twenty or so in age — sitting with his legs crossed pretzel-style, his right elbow propped on his right knee so he could casually rest his chin in his palm. It was only after the girl moved to take off her jacket and position it behind the empty body’s head that Wrentham’s originally stiffened expression moderately softened, allowing a teasing smirk to adorn his lips. He couldn’t help but feel stuck between wanting the girl to get a nice case of frostbite and wanting her to take the coat back so that she wouldn’t. With a soft sigh, Wrentham pushed himself backwards so that he could allow himself to sprawl out on the cool grass. As long as the girl didn’t actually move the hollowed-out android so that someone else could potentially notice that something was wrong with it, then there wasn’t really an issue with the current situation. After the girl retreated to the base of another tree, Wrentham let out another sigh of relief and closed his eyes so that he could try and recover his energy faster... It wasn’t until fifteen minutes later that the ghost felt confident enough to repossess the body he’d ditched. ”Mmm...???” His green eyes weakly fluttered open for the second time, ”... Did I... again?” Wren’s expression contorted into a slightly worried one as he made his first movements, lifting his hand to pull the jacket out from behind his head in order to examine it. ”You didn’t have to do this, you know?” His frown deepened with a seeming sense of guilt before he tossed the jacket back to its original owner.

Aright so it was actually pretty cold. Not terribly so, but enough that Lelianna would probably get uncomfortable waiting for Wren to wake up. And gods only knew how long that would take. So she used her powers to gently start raising up the dirt around her, trying her best not to disrupt the roots of the tree she leaned against. it took a while, but she eventually was able to make something almost like a blanket out of the earth itself. Was she going to get dirty from it? Yeah probably. But it definitely helped keep her warm as she relaxed into her tree and waited for Wren to wake up again.
Truth be told Lelianna was starting to doze off herself by the time Wren began coming too. When he made a noise, Lelianna's head jerked forward off the tree and her eyes snapped open. "Wha!? Huh? Oh..." Slithering a hand through the blanket of earth she made to rub her eyes but then managed to catch herself at the last second. Last thing she needed was a bunch of dirt all over her face. Shaking her head, Lelianna looked over to Wren.
Only to have her jacket hit her in the face.
"AH!" Came the muffled protest from beneath the furry coat. Much as she wanted to deal with that, she had to focus on returning the earth to where it lay first. So for a few seconds Lelianna just sat there with a coat over her head and propped up by her antlers as she lower her hands and her makeshift dirt blanket back into the ground. Only then did she pull the thing off with a bit of a blush on her face and dirt specks on her clothes. "Hey! I'm not a coat rack!" She huffed, putting the coat back on. But she had caught the last part of what Wren had said. After a few moments of silently buttoning up her coat, Lelianna looked up. A faint trace of her previous concern was still there.
"I couldn't just leave you here!" What kind of person would that make her? Besides, some of the other denizens of the woods were not nearly as kind as she was to visitors. Lelianna stood up and dusted herself off as best as she could. "Now, we really should get you to see someone. Or at least a better place the rest than out here..."

Wren looked down at the pile of dirt acting as a blanket for the strange girl, showing off a slight frown as he did so. Despite the fact that he seemed as if he was just as worried as the one who had approached him in the first place, the ghost was merely showing off an expression he found to be suitable to the situation he was in. Other than the fact that this stranger seemed like a good target to feed off of, he was somewhat apathetic. "Hey! I'm not a coat rack!" Although the ghost had the growing urge to make some dry joke or snide comment about how she was pretty good at acting like one, considering how long she’d stayed with the coat on her head, Wren repressed the desire. ”Who said you were one?” Wren tilted his head to the side, seasoning his already concerned expression that lingered on his features with a slight pinch of confusion. "I couldn't just leave you here!" ”Why not?” He didn’t even need a beat of time before he threw the question back at her, not even bothering to alter his expression or body language in the slightest until he continued, ”It’s not like anything bad’ll happen. I’m actually a lot luckier than I seem.” Wren offered a warm, reassuring grin to the girl, making it seem as if the whole fainting issue wasn’t even regarded as an issue by him at all. ”I’m okay now, though... See?” He climbed to his feet and stretched his arms upwards to rid himself of any accumulated stiffness, showing off his slender, six-foot-tall body in all its lanky glory. Wren then didn’t hesitate to take the few steps needed to approach the woman that stood four inches shorter than he currently did. For some reason, looking down at her made him feel a little better... especially considering how his spiritual body was actually two inches shorter than she was. ”So, Lelianna, don’t worry, yeah? You’re going to make me feel even more guilty,” Despite what he said, Wren let off a light-hearted chuckle to accompany his words. He gently placed his right hand on the girl’s left shoulder as a consoling gesture. ”If you want to go somewhere warmer to make yourself feel better, I won’t argue, but doctors are just depressing...” The ghost’s warm expression faded toward the end of his sentence; his last five words were said fairly differently — and with a slightly heavier atmosphere — than everything else he’d said up to this point... As if to gently hint to the girl that going to the doctor wouldn’t help him in the slightest. For some reason, Wren had developed the habit of lying about his health whenever anyone caught him in a vulnerable moment, just like Lelianna had. The lies he used to shoo away any suspicion in such moments felt oddly ingrained into him, as if he’d said them far more times before than he’d actually had. The ghost didn’t think about the oddity of how inherent these lies seemed in comparison to some of the others that he’d used before... and even if he did, it was currently impossible for him to stumble upon the reason why just by racking his brain.
