Sometimes the forest liked to talk to her. Not in the literal sense of course. It wasn't like Lelianna suddenly heard a voice saying Hey boo, I think you should get up and check this out. No, sometimes it liked to communicate to her in little ways. Like repeatedly slapping her on the face with a leaf to wake her up from what would have been restful slumber.
"Ack, ok! I'm up, I'm up." She grumbled, moving the branch out of her way (no way was she repeating that tangled incident again so soon). "Why don't you ever move so easily when I ask you to?" The response, of course, was nothing but silence. Grumbling, Lelianna shifted out of bed and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. So much for peace. "Alright well....what do you want?" A few more seconds passed with the silence lingering in the air. That is until a loud fwomp! made Lelianna yelp. Her heavier winter gear had fallen to the floor. No doubt with some help from certain plantlife. She got the message though. It didn't necessarily make her happy.
"You want me to go outside?" Sliding out of bed was already making her shiver. The thought of going out into the elements was enough to make her groan. "But whyyyy? This isn't some mean prank, is it? I was just getting to sleep!" She protested. But her house had gone silent, and the living elements that made up her abode almost seemed to wait expectantly. Was it odd that she could perceive emotions on a faceless entity? Even if she couldn't, the slap to her head from he branch that had awoken her when she tried to return to bed essentially said No sleep, get outside.
"Hey! Ok, ok! I'm going..." It didn't seem like she had much other choice. Unless she wanted to be assaulted all night by her own home (which she would not recommend to anyone). So Lelianna got dressed, grabbed her thick clothes and boots, picked up her staff and circlet (she felt nearly naked without them), and hefted up her lantern. Whatever the vegetation wanted her for, it was being awfully persistent about it. Enough to force her back out into the cold weather. It sure wasn't going to be easy getting back to sleep at this point; the chill of the later evening woke Lelianna right up.
"Alright you big log, you've got me out here. What now?" She voiced out to the open. Again there was a few moments where Lelianna actually did consider whether or not the woods were just messing with her. Eventually she did notice some of the trees she's planted around her house started moving. It was subtly, almost like wind was passing through that area even though Lelianna couldn't feel any (or much of anything at this point). Taking that as a sign, or at least the best she'd get, Lelianna headed off into the night. She followed similar signs along the way when she wasn't sure where she was going, until finally the signs stopped.
Not that she would need them anymore; she found what the forest wanted her to find.
There was someone wandering the woods at night. At night! What were they thinking?! "Um...hello?" Lelianna chanced to call out, hoping that whoever this was, they were friendly. She clutched her staff a little tighter just in case. "It's awfully late to be out here! Are you...Are you lost?"

"My Guiding Moonlight" There was something romantic and sometimes wildly intimate about Arecia. The ways it demanded you to go deeper into it's groves to find your way and the twists and turns it expected you to take. If you believed the forest was alive, than in fact it truly was. And that was something he liked about it. Mikaiah Lupei wandered out of a thick bushel of leaves and they parted like he barely touched the thorns at times. They still tugged at his outfit on occasion as if begging him to stay behind, though came undone once he pushed and gingerly took them away. Since it was a good time to be out and about, Miki was dressed in a flowing robe of a cobalt blue shade with white stripes running across the torso and below the waist where his sash wrapped tightly. Sandals trod across unevenly dropped twigs where the trees began to twist and slog with the wind. Once in a while, he would hear a sound that was shrill and haunting or taste an odd scent in the air that he knew well. Once past the thick trunks, the terrain leveled off and no longer was as steep as trudging up a hill. A short smile found its way to the edges of his lips as he more distinctly recognized the pattern of growth, knowing he was near where he wanted to be as his steps hurried up in their pace. With the night still young, he found himself to a very odd-shaped stone in a secluded clearing where he figured he was least likely to be disturbed before taking out his violin. He strung up the instrument, testing it out before even beginning to place it to his chin and roughly push enough so that it didn't buckle or sway in his grasp. The stone was cold and the breeze was slight, just perfect enough of a place to practice. His bowing arm started to slowly push and pull the string across, producing a slightly heavy sound; a bit more than he had wanted. He lifted it a tiny bit and wanted to start again before he became wary of steps coming up through the woods and not too far away. Lifting up his head, his eyes chanced upon the thinly woman of about a similar height and stature to himself, though also quite a bit more full. Ghostly orange hair fell over her frame and it seemed she was calling out to him. "I'm not lost I'm afraid. Just came out here for a little bit.. What are you doing out here?" he replied aloud, holding the violin again away from his neck.

Honestly at one point Lelianna didn't have to follow along with the forest's gentle (not) persuading to go forward. Out of the darkness before her, all of the sudden there came this heavy sound. it made lelianna freeze for a moment, unsure whether she should be worried or not. That didn't sound like something that typically came from a forest dweller.
And she should know; she basically was one.
Soon after she heard that, she found Mikaiah sitting there. The violin perched on his shoulder gave her a hint as to what had cause that earlier noise. At least she wouldn't have to worry about a creature. Just another human. Which...honestly had the potentially to be even more dangerous. it depended on the person, really.
"Oh! Oh I um...I live here." Lelianna explained. She took a second before frowning and shaking her head. "Well I mean not obviously here here but..." Wait, did she really have to explain this? one look at this boy's face and Lelianna shook her head again. "Nevermind that should be obvious." She grumbled to herself before taking a deep breath. When in doubt start over 9and hope you don't already look like a fool). "I live out here in the forest. Which kindly," There's a brief glare at the nearest tree, "woke me up and led me to, well, you." She explained. Then she yawned, trying her best to cover it. The longing desire for a bed strongly resonated through her body. But at this point she was genuinely curious, if not sleepily so.
"May I ask...What you're doing out here? It's not every night someone wanders in here and isn't lost. Maybe that's why the forest woke me up." Lelianna mumbled the last bit to herself. But that only begged another question: why? So she could attend social hour at night?

"My Guiding Moonlight" Someone living in the forest? A nomad or perhaps a druid? He rarely met someone out here; it was a space he often had to himself and wasn't exactly distinct. He had never seen her in Haven nor had he ever encountered her before, though she seemed pleasant enough. His eyes remained clear, reaching out with his telepathy before speaking directly into her mind with a fickle, musing tone. "My name is Miki. I live in Haven and this is my practice spot." He sighed vocally after ending the message, taking the violin again to hold it aloft with his chin and cheek firmly pressed against the sleekly polished wood and testing the bow against the strings with a light 'twang' that sang as resolutely as he had hoped it would. The tuning was right on point and once he was settled in, he would be ready to practice and he'd be happy to let the woman watch. Actually, it made him excited to have a small audience and he was thankful for the opportunity to play with company, although an impish smile made its way in to twist the edges of his mouth a tiny bit. His eyes returned to the druid and he teasingly reached out with his telepathy magic to speak to her that way. "Are you from Haven or are you a wanderer perhaps? Your home is lovely and everything, but I think you would be better off living in Haven or perhaps finding someplace a little bigger. If you want to watch me practice though, you're welcome to stay."As he spoke, Miki began to play with the moon playing as his back-light. He put a bit more into moving the bow, at times being a bit rough with it and moving and adjusting it as the song went by. Much like all of his tunes, the song was dark and Miki himself enjoyed making it feel heavy and fitting. It was almost a theme song of his own making for the Arecia Woods, composed when he had his spare time. Sad and lingering, like the stretches of tall trees that shed all who bore its venture. Crazed at times with no clear ways through it, only to listen and bewilder. Wandering to and fro like the long roots stretching underneath his feet while leaves of impending sound fell over the ditches and falls. At times, he forgot he was being watched as his eyes closed and he focused purely on the quality of the sound. The world became a catalyst he channeled. The Salamander Magi's brow ached from having to bend and twine, though that didn't excuse him from his art. It just kept on playing, hands roughing over the bow at times haphazardly and times lovingly interlaced. When at last he was finished with that piece, Miki let it off with a spin and then released with a flustering bow of his head.
Note: Dark Violin Music - Out of the Dark Not my work, but certainly fits the tone and Miki's persona. "Speech Here"

Already Lelianna hadn't known what to expect then she was suddenly ripped from her sleep and sent out by the woods to investigate something. So the suddenly voice in her head was even less expected when it came. Although she was used to the forest communicating to her, it was never in an actual voice with words. Only feelings and hums or creaks that she could identify now. The voice, while being pretty calm, managed to startle her.
She was definitely awake now.
"Did....Did you just...." Lelianna stared at him with a quizzical expression. She for sure did not imagine that! Now she had to wonder exactly what kind of magi Miki was. After all, Lelianna was pretty darn sure she couldn't do something like that (except with nature, in a way, sort of). "Um...it's nice to meet you Miki. I'm Lelianna." Although now answering out loud sort of felt...wrong? Was she supposed to answer with her thoughts? Could she answer with her thoughts? Was he hearing her right now? Oh god if that was true...Lelianna very much wished she could think about nothing on command now.
Again the voice popped into her head, frightening the hermit redhead for a second. Jeez she wouldn't get used to this. Although Miki didn't seem unkind. A little odd for being out this late, but it was pretty beautiful when the stars came out. "Oh I'm from over there-ish..." She sort of motioned off the way she came, but she was starting to get distracted. Miki was starting to play, and it was so very very rare for Lelianna to hear any kind of music. And oh, what music it was. Clearly Miki was talented; she'd never heard music that felt so heavy. it felt like it had a mind of it's own. She could feel it echo through the boughs of the trees and thrum through the roots of the wooden sentinels. A familiar hum this time made itself known in the back of her head. Though still sleepy, the forest was giving Miki's performance it's attention.
At some point during his playing, Lelianna subconsciously set the lantern down and found a spot to sit. She really could only listen at awe at this point, even going so far as to close her own eyes and simply enjoy. It was...wonderful, frankly. Though the tune sounded sad, it seemed to fit the forest. Arecia Woods seemed to agree, if the hum on the edges of her senses was anything to go by. An idle smile was planted on her face until Miki finally finished. Only then did Lelianna open her eyes, realizing she was now on the ground. "Oh! Um.....wow." Was all she really could say.

"My Guiding Moonlight" The intrusion into her minds seemed to lead to a bit of puzzling and Miki subtly took the violin away from his chin, "Enjoy it?" He moved off the rock, stepping closer to Lelianna and scrutinizing a bit more. She seemed nice and appreciated his playing which was another plus. However, he was also perplexed at the same time. Was that all? She was just a junkie living out here in the Arecia Forest? She had no family or anyone she saw regularly? Miki approached and sat in front of her before leaning the violin up against the rock. "Over-there-ish? I've lived in Haven and I've been coming to this forest a lot, though I must admit I've never seen you before Lelianna. How long have you been staying out here then? What do you do?" he questioned, deciding not to use his magic for the time being since it had an alarming effect. It was obvious she had never met a Magi like him before which meant that she had been quite sheltered if she did indeed was just a wilderness hermit. An impish idea occurred to him and curled the edges of his lips as he also decided he needed his fix. Miki opened his pocked and dug around before finding his Uppers dispenser. Taking a few out of the bottle, he easily gulped down a couple before offering one to Lelianna in an outstretched palm, "Try one of these. Don't worry, they'll make you feel really good after a little bit. Once they're digested in your tummy, your magic gets really powerful."Already, he could feel the Uppers beginning to take effect, supercharging him and giving him the high he normally experienced. If Lelianna has never had one, than he could only assume that it would have double the effect it was having on him.

Enjoy it? "Yes!" Lelianna exclaimed, slapping a hand over her mouth when she realized she'd been a little too enthusiastic saying that. Sporting a bit of a blush now, she removed her hand and tried again. "Um...Y-yes. It was absolutely wonderful!" There, much better! At least her shining eyes were still clearly displaying her appreciation of the piece Mikaiah just played. Seriously, the guy was amazing!
Lelianna stayed seated as she was since Miki also sat down again after approaching her. She had to think for a few seconds to calculate the exact amount of time she'd been living in the woods. It really got away from her. Especially when she wasn't really trying to count. "Um...." She ticked off a few of her fingers with a pensive look on her face. "8 years? I think?" Lelianna really was guessing here, but that sounded about right. But then came the question everyone lately seemed to be asking (and surprisingly there had been a lot of people to ask lately!)
What did she do?
"Well I, ah, tend to the forest." Lelianna explained. Glancing around, she smiled a little as she continued. "It tells me where I'm needed, and so I go there to help as much as I can." There, now that was a far better explanation than the one she'd given Taran a while ago. Or at least it explained what she meant when she said she "tended to" the forest. "Prevent a disease from spreading, help with growth, things like that." Shrugging, Lelianna looked back just in time to see Miki digging around in his pockets.
Curious, she observed him down some pills (She thought it was a liquid at first, but the noise from the bottle gave it away) before offering her some. The way he described it set off a red flag in Lelianna's thread. Now mind you, Lelianna had indeed been quite the hermit for the past 8 years. However before then she'd grown up within Suraja alongside her parents. Drugs were not a mystery to her by any means, and she'd seen a few people who'd had to deal with the consequences afterwards. Naive? Yes Lelianna was. Foolish? She liked to think she had a little smarts. "Oh! Oh thank you b-but I couldn't." She declined politely with a smile and shake of her head. "I mean, you've already given me such a great performance I couldn't possibly take something else from you!"

"My Guiding Moonlight" Lelianna's refusal wasn't taken as lightheartedly by Miki as he usual. With his magic abuzz, he reached out and touched her mind again via telepathy, "Come on! It will make you feel better!" He pushed closer until the pills in his hand touched her lips and he was nearly shoveling them into the woman's mouth. Not that Miki was offended, but he was excited and filled with energy right now. His mind was a bit clouded by the drift of energy, the circuitry in his brain jumping into overdrive with the pills radiating his system. It wasn't the great big boost that he got when he took a lot of them, but it was still a delicious high, "Don't worry about it at all! I have plenty, just give them a try! Open wide!" The drug-addict Magi continued to push them until Lelianna would open up her jaw. If she didn't, Miki spotted her foot and then would quickly stomp on it in his attempt to force Lelianna to swallow the single Upper. Once inside, the effect would be quite... intriguing. Miki stood casually in front, trying to shove a pill down her throat if only just to see the effects. He knew some Magi had a lessened tolerance for the drug and it was interesting just to see their reaction from having one. It wouldn't ruin their lives, but it was good for about an hour's worth of laughs. Once, Miki remembered a friend of his deciding to jump into the Swamp naked after having just 3-4 Uppers. How low of a tolerance would Lelianna have?

► Oooooooookaaaaaaaay...So apparently this guy wasn't exactly that happy about her refusal. Lelianna was super surprised when suddenly she felt the pill bottle being effectively shoved against her mouth. Eyes widening, Lelianna managed to keep her mouth shut as she shuffled backwards away from Mika's reach. She shook her head all the while and only spoke when the bottle wasn't in range of her mouth. "Please, I'm really not interested!" She insisted, starting to actually scramble to her feet in her haste backwards.
But then the guy actually- Wait did he seriously just try to step on her foot to get her to open her mouth?!
Now let it be known: Lelianna was a pacifist. She despised the thought of needed to harm another living being unless it was in self-defense. If she could avoid all confrontations she gladly would. However that was a normal, well rested Lelianna. This Lelianna? This was a Lelianna who'd been abruptly awoken almost in the middle of the night. And all of a sudden someone was trying to force-feed her drugs? And step on her foot to do it? Maybe Lelianna would've had a different approach to dealing with this situation if she'd had enough sleep.
But right now a small part of her snapped.
Fortunately in her scramble Lelianna's foot hadn't been stepped on. With that she backed up and placed her hand on a nearby tree. She could feel the living being respond to her as, with some creaking, the branches reached down and attempted to grab at her "aggressor" to hold him off. If successful they would basically grab Mika by the shoulders and heft the boy up off the ground a little, holding him in place. She wasn't trying to hurt him. Just make him stop trying to shove a pill bottle down her throat!
"Ok look, I'm thankful for your offer but I really don't want any." Lelianna said firmly. "It's late and I don't know if I'd be able to sleep if I took one of those. I'd rather not test that theory." She'd never gotten into drugs before and she certainly didn't want to start now.

"My Guiding Moonlight" "Awww..." Miki sighed from rejection before Lelianna suddenly touched the trees and they suddenly writhed into life all of a sudden. Like shifting shadows, their branches came to life and Miki was forced to step and leap backwards out of reach before he was hamstrung. He made way back to the rock, clambering around it and still watching for anymore tree limbs that would grab at him, "But you'd like it if you only tried them!"He was now starting to feel the slight energizing effects of the drugs and they helped him move quickly enough to evade the trap of being captured. Admittedly, Miki also got a little sinister when he was hopped up on Uppers. They did do something to him, but there was nothing wrong with having a little bit of fun. Miffed, he put away the pills and grabbed his violin to shelter it from being touched. "It isn't that late! What else do you have to do out here? If you're not interested in Drugs and you don't live in Haven, don't you ever feel bored?" With the Uppers in effect and his magic in effect, Miki spoke as if through a microphone into Lelianna's mind. Amplified from the pills, he could've made his tone seem a lot louder, but that would've been almost unbearable. "Do you dance out here or just talk to animals all day?"

► The tree branches didn't quite catch him but at least they gave Lelianna some room to breath. Seriously, who tried shoving drugs down someone's throat!? Especially when you just met someone! He didn't seem like he was trying to hurt Lelianna per say, but this was definitely not something two people- even friend- should play around with. "I'm sorry, but I really am not interested. Thank you for the offer, but no." Lelianna repeated firmly in a huff, the plant-life around her still shifting in response to her now slightly guarded aura.
You did this Arecia! You woke her up and dragged her out here! Though the music had been nice...
Did she ever feel bored? "No!" Surprisingly it was true. She was surrounded by nature all the time. It was really hard for the hermit to get bored. Especially when she had her garden to maintain. It totally wasn't an addiction. She could stop if she wanted. She just...didn't want to. Probably ever. "I do a lot more than just talk to animals!" Funnily enough she did dance but she wasn't going to tell Mika about that. Those were...embarrassing moments she wasn't sharing with anyone. "There's a lot more to do out here. Which is why, yes, it's late for me!" She worked in the forest! It was tiring work sometimes!
And the forest had gone and woke her up from a restful sleep after a day of tiring work!
The redhead sighed and shook her head. This was a weird encounter, which was saying something. A sigh left her. "Look I...I really liked your music and all, but I'm honestly not too interested in your offer. T-though it was...kind of you." Not so kind for him to so forcefully insist, but whatever. "I'm just...very tired. And if you think you're going to be actually okay out here there I think I might head back." Her weariness was starting to show anyways.

"My Guiding Moonlight" Perhaps he had gone a bit too far. His thoughts backed off for a bit as did his feet where he stayed put and didn't move an inch. Frozen like a stalagmite sticking up out of the earth, it was like a blow had been struck to his system. A system that right now wasn't completely coherent enough to take the unsettling rejection. He just wanted to have fun and enjoy passing the time. Retreating away, his eyes tearing up right before the moment he started to run. Grabbing his violin and dashing right in the opposite direction as fast as his legs would carry him. With all the added stamina of being energized from the high of the drugs, he was able to fly pretty fast and get pretty far before he would vanish into the scantily moonlit forest. Bits of his tears fell off his cheeks, leaving the women's words in the background. He ran without looking almost at where he was going, only fleeing as far away as he could go. His eyes were blurry and his lithe form jumped and forcefully avoided obstacles in his way. He bashed against low-hanging branches, wiping them to the side with a clenched fist. He kicked and swung from the divots on the path before losing that entirely. His pants were dirtied and stained a little more than before and his legs were feeling a little tired, but the Uppers were doing their job. How long did it go on for? He wasn't sure by the time he came to a stop in a dark spot to lay down. The drugs would wear off soon... maybe within a little while and after that he would have a hell of a headache. That would be fine, he thought. That could help him get to sleep. With one more shake, Miki brought out his dispenser of Uppers and stared for a moment at the pill that Lelianna had not swallowed. He took it, dumping that one into his mouth and feeling the slight burst it gave. He needed to keep running. Run until his head felt light again and he could maybe find a place to play his violin. That's right... a quiet place he could just forget. Wiping away his tired tears on the cut-up cuff of his sleeve, Miki got up and continued to keep running. Pounding the ground hard as he went. He would stumble and fall as the world around him now seemed to decide to trip him up, but he hardly cared and just kept going. To a place where he could play his violin again, emanating a sorrowful sound before falling headlong into a slumber with his head aching and body crashing into his own little downward spiral.
