"Oooooooooh, oh come on!" Came the whine. Because, once again, Lelianna managed to get something snagged in her horns. It really was a pretty funny sight to be honest (not from her perspective but whatever). Here was this decently tall girl with fiery red hair who lived most of her life in the woods. Completely stopped by a bunch of branches.
Again.
Lelianna carefully leaned her staff against the tree's stump before reaching her hands up to try detangling herself from the tree's branches. Which seemed to be pretty well caught up in her antlers. Maybe too well caught. "Um, hey? Could you please help me a little here?" Lelianna asked with a smile towards the greenery. She could feel some sort of a prescence, as if the tree was acknowledging her plea. That didn't mean it necessarily answered it though.
Huffing, Lelianna's face fell into an indignant pout for a moment before she focused on getting out of her current mess. A chittering noise made her glance over and see a few of the squirrels had gathered to watch the show. "Don't you start laughing at me! I don't see you having antlers...Or even offering to help me anyways!" The squirrels just continued to stare at her and Lelianna sighed before moving on. What a bunch of jerks.
However she did take notice again when suddenly the furry little fiends all scurried away. Eyes snapping up, Lelianna looked around until she spotted a humanoid figure looming nearby. A rather large and intimidating figure at that. "Uh..." Brain temporarily short-circuiting, Lelianna couldn't find the right words at first. After a moment though a sheepish and highly embarrassed smile came to her face. She'd shrink if the branches hadn't had such a firm hold on her. "Hiiiiii there. I uh.....sorry I'll just be...one...moment..." She mutttered as she tried even more desperately to get her antlers untangled. How embarrassing could she get?

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] A light snow was beginning to fall, mingling with the blanket of pure white that already covered the forest floor. The slightest sounds of activity were granted a deafening volume in the snow-muffled environment. The occasional deer would paw at the ground in search of the small bits of green that remained or a bird would flutter overhead. Sometimes a branch would creak as it shifted under the weight of the sparkling, white blanket and dump a payload of the stuff on to ever-growing mounds. It was like a scene out of a fantasy novel or the works of a great artist depicting the world held by winter’s grasp.[break][break]Jason found himself admiring the view was he trailed his way deftly through the stark white wonderland. The ends of his pant legs were soaked with meltwater, but a thick pair of socks ensured that his feet remained warm. His tail—which would normally be wrapped in his jacket to shelter it from the cold—twitched ever so slightly as he adjusted its grip on the small bundle clutched to his back. He cast a glance over his shoulder to check the condition of his charge. Arithelia had shifted a touch to the side as she nuzzled into his back. The goddess in a girl’s form was still red in the nose and strand of her hair fell in haphazard ways around her small face. An elfin groan sounded and the noise elicited a ghostly grin from Jason.[break][break]He turned his attention away from his sleeping goddess. Someone was rustling around in the woodlands and making quite a fuss about being trapped. Eyes narrowed, Jason made his way towards the ruckus, drawing upon the magic residing within him to prepare for a confrontation. His guard immediately lowered when he caught sight of an auburn-haired magi with her antlers caught by branches having a conversation with a group of squires. Jason blinked once at the sight before the same ghostly smile returned to him.[break][break]“Take your time,” he told the woman. “I have nowhere particular to be and my hands are a bit occupied at the moment. Otherwise, I would offer my help.” He chuckled deeply. “Though I’m not sure how much help I would be with these meaty fingers of mine.”[break][break](OOC notes: I have been given permission by Rinny to use Ari as an NPC for this thread. voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

Out of the corner of her eye Lelianna could see that ghost of a smile. Oh yeah, she was making the very best of first impressions today wasn't she? At least it didn't look like anyone she recognized (not that that was saying much). That and the man was actually being pretty nice to her, all things considered. He was even offering to help, if his hands hadn't been occupied already. With what looked like a little girl? Truthfully Lelianna was only paying half attention to the details since she was still struggling with the whole "antlers-in-branches" issue.
Eventually though she managed to get herself out of the branches. She even managed to do so without breaking any. "Whew. Ok. I swear..." She grumbled for a moment. However it didn't take her long to remember that, hello, she had guests. Lelianna's head whipped back over to the man and young...child? Maybe? She looked like she was asleep though, or about to be perhaps. Lelianna could at least keep her voice down a tad.
Especially since she wasn't trapped anymore.
"Uh, right. Thank you for the offer." Once again she grabbed her staff, and the familiar weight in her hand gave her some comfort. She definitely needed something to combat the blush on her face. It definitely wasn't all from the cold. "I wouldn't want you to have to drop her though." She nodded to Arithelia for a moment and then aimed a small smile at Jason. "Besides, I should probably be more careful. And someone should be less grabby..." Muttering the last bit with a hot glare towards the tree in question, Lelianna then realized something. Maybe it had to do with all the snow and the fact they were out in the woods. From her own mental map she didn't think they were all that close to Haven. So that begged the question;
"Ah...Are you lost by chance? I mean I can understand since it's, ya know, the woods and all." She said it with a little shrug. Although she actually looked a little concerned. "But you're a bit far out from Haven. I wouldn't want either of you catching a chill out here."

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] Jason allowed his smile to grow ever so slightly. “I thank you for your consideration. My companion here is… tired and requires rest. I would prefer that she stay right where she is if not for the warmth that she provides.” Indeed, the sleeping blanket burrito was an excellent source of warmth. More than that, the fact that she was sleeping meant that she was conserving what little strength fighting her newest sickness left her. That in and of itself was more than a small victory.[break][break]Another chuckle rumbled in his chest. “I suppose that your friend there is just as cold as any other creature. Isn’t that right, my oaken friend?” He looked up at the “oak”—it was in all actuality a fir of some description if one were feeling technical—for a brief moment. If one were to listen carefully, they would’ve been able to hear a gentle groan that could almost be equated with laughter. The tree was obviously amused by the jest in some fashion if one followed the thinking that all things that walked, swam, flew, or stood upon the face of the earth were as one and thus had souls of their own.[break][break]He turned his attention back to the young woman when she asked her question. "Once again, I thank you for your consideration, sister, but we are fine. We are travelling to visit relative and insure that they are well and safe. And we are both quite warm; of that, I can assure you.” Arithelia was wrapped in at least three fluff blankets to keep out the cold and his own leather jacket and hoodie were more than enough to shelter him. His tail could do with a bit more warmth, but he could manage for the time being. Perhaps he would have it take refuge between the blanket with his goddess.[break][break]As if on cue, another cutesy little utterance issued forth from the girl and he felt her nuzzle further into his shoulder. Jason smiled again as his bulb tip of his stiff tail moved to pet his charge gently on the head. He liked to think that the girl was being shown only the most pleasant things within the Dreamweaver’s realm.[break][break](OOC notes: voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

The guy was smiling, so that was putting Lelianna a little more at ease. At least her embarrassment from being found in such a way was fading. Still this guy looked pretty big. Yet he seemed friendly enough. Again Lelianna glanced back at the little girl on Jason's back. She looked so wrapped up she might as well be a caterpillar. It was kind of adorable and Lelianna bit back a coo. Instead she said: "Warmth is definitely something to have in this weather. She must be pretty cozy to be asleep right now." It only showed that this guy clearly cared about the little one's well-being at the moment. Lelianna certainly approved (not that it really mattered whether or not she did).
Lelianna glanced up when Jason joked with the tree. She too could hear it's response, and a wry smile replaced the hot glare she's given it. "You're probably right. However, my friend here usually gets a little...playful during these winter months." Was it strange to call a tree, let alone a whole forest, playful? Yet that was the best way Lelianna could currently describe it. "I swear the cold makes them a little more loopy than normal."
Almost immediately after that, there was a soft creaking noise. As if the wind had gone through and gently rustled some branches. Lelianna started to look up when a heap of snow abruptly landed on her. "PFFFT, hey!" She protested, blowing the snow out of her face. She shook her head and wiped the rest of it off her features before giving the tree next to her a light, harmless slap. "You meanie! You're gonna get it down my coat!" Again that gentle grown sounded from the tree. Lelianna rolled her eyes with a huff, but turned her attention back to Jason. She was used to nature toying with her at this point.
Jason did look like he could manage himself in the woods. The very fact he seemed comfortable talking with it (and that the forest itself had responded) told her a few things. She was about to respond when Arithelia made her little noise. This time Lelianna couldn't quite hold back the awww that left her lips. Then the tail came into view and confirmed her suspicions. This was another Magi, and she'd bet he was an Earth one to boot. "Would you want any company?" Lelianna offered at last. She wouldn't push her prescence on the man, but he seemed nice. She wouldn't want anything happening to him in the forest, even if he seemed capable (and Lelianna herself craved "human" interaction every now and then). "If you have to head out of the woods I can at least go to the edge of it. But you can say no, if you want."

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] The forest spirits were feeling playful on this day it seemed. Jason had to resist the urge to laugh when the pile of snow fell from the treetops. He could only assume that some spirit or another was teasing the sister, and the result was rather amusing. “I suspect that your friend there would’ve found that hilarious.” And so would he for that matter. Watching the woman shimmy around trying to extract might have been enough to force him into a bout of laughter. He supposed that it was a good thing that the snow landed where it did; he wanted Ari to continue with her much needed rest, and his booming laughter would almost guaranty she would wake up.[break][break]“I would certainly appreciate the company,” Jason replied. “Adorable as she is, this little one isn’t much for conversation in her current state. It will be nice to speak with someone as I walk.” With that, Jason began walking marching through the snow towards the edge of the great forest. He would spare a glance over his shoulder to ascertain whether the woman had chosen to make good on her offer to follow.[break][break]“Tell me, sister, what brings you to this part of the Great Wood? You do not appear to have come from Haven, so I assume that you live among the trees themselves.” It wasn’t a far-fetched idea for him considering that he’d done much the same for many years, and he wasn’t so arrogant as to believe that he was the only mortal that would willing chose the forest as his home.[break][break](OOC notes: voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

Hilarious? Lelianna had absolutely no doubt that the forest found it exactly that. "I suspect my friend has to do with this in the first place!" She huffed, shimmying and jostling her clothes to get the snow off. Unfortunately for her, some snow did manage to make it's way down her coat. Which prompted her face to screw up in surprise discomfort before further shuffling could dislodge it. She sent another glare towards the tree before looking back at Jason. Well, at least the whole thing seemed to put him in a better mood. He looked fit to burst, which only made Lelianna blush in minor embarassment and turn away.
But all that went to the wind when Jason actually accepted her company. Truth be told, Lelianna wasn't expecting for her offer to actually gain any traction. After a stellar first impression like hers, she would've understood if he'd turned her down. Positively beaming from ear to ear, Lelianna hurried to catch up with him (after making sure to duck under the branches again). Now she simply had to make sure she didn't make even more of a fool of herself now that she actually had company.
Surely that wouldn't be hard, right?
At first Lelianna was a little startled by the question. Not by the question itself but she was still on a bit of a high that she was actually talking to another living being that wasn't covered in fur (at least she figured). "Oh, no, I'm not from Haven, so you're right." She answered. Giving a gesture with her free hand, she motioned around them to the woods. "I live out here; a little ways over....that way I believe." Lelianna pointed off in one direction before dropping her hand. "What about you? I mean, I don't visit Haven all that much but I don't think I'd ever forget you." It took a second or two before Lelianna's face flushed (again) and she started stammering. "I-I mean not you, as in, you look weird or anything. I just mean- it's so rare for me to meet other people a-and you know, ah, I just tend to remember people's faces since, y'know, I don't see them that often out here." Trailing off her ramble with a nervous laugh, Lelianna averted her head with cheeks nearly as red as her hair.
Nailed it.

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] A deep, sonorous chuckle rumbled in Jason’s chest as he watched the sister blather on in an attempt to save face in the wake of her embarrassment. The snow crunching softly beneath his feet provided a soothing backdrop to the woman’s rambling as he listened with all the patience his many years granted him. It wasn’t difficult to tell that the sister had little to no experience with other people, and given that she lived cloistered away in the Great Wood it was likely that he was one of the few people that she’d spoken to.[break][break]“Peace to you, Sister,” Jason urged. “I knew well enough what you meant, and I’m flattered that you view me as memorable.” Of course, being six-foot-six giant of a man would make it incredibly difficult to miss him in the first place, let alone forget him. Not even the passing of the fame he’d garnered in the ring during his fighting days would change that.[break][break]“Yes, meeting others out her in among the wilds is no easy task, and so few of the ones that you do are in any sort of mood for a chat. I should know seeing as I’ve spent a number of years among these same trees you call home.” He thought of his grotto and its waterfall and shaped stones. He thought of the humble shrine he’d erected in honor of his goddess. He thought of the many spirits that he held consul with over those many years. Hey he laughed! That was good....right? At least Lelianna figured it was. He had a nice laugh, and didn't seem to be laughing at. Well, at least too badly. Her horrible attempt at talking clearly was the reason for the chuckle.
Lelianna took a deep breath to steady herself again. Jason was right. She was probably just overthinking this (again). Surely talking to people wasn't supposed to be as hard as she imagined. And she hadn't been the little hippie hermit all her life. Really, this shouldn't be nearly so difficult. "Well...So far all you've been is nice to me, so that leaves a pretty good impression." Lelianna flashed him a little smile (cheeks still a bit pink). "And I honestly don't think I've met anyone quite as tall as you are. N-not that I have many people to go off of." Acknowledging that was pretty easy. "For all I know, everything outside the forest got taken over by giants." Here she looked over at Jason and peered at him suspiciously. Lelianna never had a good poker face though, so the smile she was failing so hard to fight off gave her away. "Are you sure you aren't a scout coming in to pick off the last of the shorter folk?" At least in comparison to Jason, Lelianna was tiny.
The moment Jason mentioned living in the woods before though, Lelianna's eyes popped wide and bright. "You did?!" She asked, excited. Another hermit!? Well, former hermit, but still! She paused for a moment, staring off before faintly nodding her head. She wore another smile on her face. Only this time it was soft and (luckily) devoid of any nervousness or awkwardness that usually came with talking to someone. "You know, I think that explains something. The forest seemed to find you...familiar."
It had been a subtle feeling, especially since the trees and undergrowth that made up Arecia Woods was still "asleep" from winter. Now that Lelianna was focusing on it though she could feeling it. A sleepy but watchful presence coming off of the surrounding greenery. She'd already gotten used to that sensation being directed at her, seeing as she was in the middle of her "hermitude." This faint sensation though was definitely not directed at her, little as it was in the colder season.

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] Jason shook his head as a bemused smile cracked his face. “ I assure you that nothing of the sort has happened beyond these woods.” He paused briefly to level a jokingly dangerous stare at the woman. “Or perhaps that is a lie and truly am a scout sent into these woods by giants to hunt the last of the small folk. Their bones make for an excellent base for bread dough and my people are always hungry. Big stomachs to fill.” He eyed Lelianna up and down as though he were an animal gauging the size of its prey. Then, his shoulders began to shake softly as he chuckled to himself again. He turned to raise a brow archly at Lelianna as his tail came around to briefly press its barbed tip to his lips before returning to the task of holding Ari to his back. He allowed the limb to snake its way under one of the blankets defending the small girl goddess from the cold and share in her warmth.[break][break]“Yes, I lived among these great beings for nearly a decade, before leaving to travel with the little one.” He cast a quick glance over his shoulder to his sleeping goddess. “The forest came to know me, and I it, as the years passed. Meditating beneath their leaves gave me an understanding of this place and its inhabitants.”[break][break]Jason leveled a small smile at his companion. “It is good to meet another that understands that these trees that surround us are just as aware and alive as any of us.”[break][break](OOC notes: voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

Lelianna squinted her eyes at Jason further, looking even more suspicious as her face scrunched up a little. "I've got my eyes on you." She promised, pointing two fingers to her face and then back at Jason. Of course, any semblance of that being taken seriously was ruined by the expression on her face. Lelianna was desperately fighting to keep a smile from tugging her lips upward. So far she was failing miserably. Not that she really minded actually. Somehow she felt...comfortable around Jason. I mean, she was actually joking around with the guy! Maybe it was the fact he'd lived in the forest before. She could feel it through the trees they passed. There was a familiarity about the man that Arecia acknowledged and apparently spread to Lelianna. But she was hardly complaining; it was actually really nice to meet someone she didn't feel too awkward around (Despite her stellar first impression).
She blinked when he held up his tail for silence. Mainly due to the fact she'd never seen a magi with something like that before! Although she had no plans to do so from the beginning, Lelianna made a mental note to not piss off the big man. She did find it sweet though that he was trying so hard not to disturb the girl's rest. Lelianna kept her own voice a little quieter just to make sure she didn't ruin all his efforts.
"I'm glad to meet someone else too!" Lelianna said sincerely. "I wasn't sure if anyone else would live out here. Although I guess it makes sense I wouldn't see them....." I mean that was the whole point of being a hermit, right? But Lelianna liked the company soooooo..... "Um....yeah.....b-but I am glad to meet someone else the forest's familiar with. Makes it a little less lonely...." She hadn't exactly meant to say that, but it was out now. Face coloring slightly, Lelianna decided to change topics.
"Ah, um, heeeeeeey though, so uh.....w-where in Arecia did you live exactly? Near the Loch?"

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] LJason stared right back into Lelianna’s squinting eyes, keeping his face in its usual stone mask with some considerable effort. He eventually won out in the little game when the redhead finally cracked into a smile. She made for amusing company, of that he was sure; shame that she wouldn’t follow him beyond the Great Wood. He smiled appreciatively at the softness entering his companion’s voice; respect was a valuable trait to possess among Arithelia’s children.[break][break]“Most that chose to dwell here do so in the knowledge that they are not likely to be found,” he explained. “I chose this Great Wood as my home for… similar reasons. It was to heal after the pain of the riots. Both my own and that of those that I harmed, and it was something that I wished to accomplish on my own.” His voice became serious as the grave as he turned away from the young sister.[break][break]“And I suspect that something similar drove you in your decision.” He wasn’t sure of the exact reasoning, but there were few reasons that one would willingly undertake the life of a hermit. It may have been arrogant of him to assume, but he couldn’t deny the wisdom he’d garnered over his years of solitude. He also knew that it was not his place to inquire as to the reasoning if there was any.[break][break]Quick to change the subject to a much lighter topic, Jason said, “I lived barely five miles from the shore of the loch. It was a pleasant distraction to wander the edge of the lake at dusk when the heavens and the earth met upon the water’s surface.”[break][break](OOC notes: voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

The moment Jason mentioned the riots, there was a sudden freeze to Lelianna's figure.
It was a good thing Jason turned away from her for the moment. Lelianna's hands tightened their grip on her staff. Yes, she could very very easily understand why Jason had fled the riots. It was the exact same thing that had led Lelianna to flee towards the woods. Sobbing. Vulnerable. Broken. The soil had barely settled on her parents' makeshift graves by the time she'd collapsed somewhere within the undergrowth and cried her heart out underneath these very branches. only years later had she been able to find acceptance for the loss of her parents. Only through observing the nature she now was a part of did she truly understand the cycle of things.
She used this knowledge now to push those dark memories back down and keep her head above the grief.
So after choking out a horribly soft "Y-Yeah..." Lelianna was only too happy to change the subject away from depressing thoughts.
"T-The loch?" Lelianna repeated, still shaking herself out from the sudden onslaught of emotion the previous topic had brought on her. "That sounds really nice. I like to visit there every now and then. That or Haven." She said, taking a few deep breaths to calm herself. Really, she was over the grief. It had just....caught her off guard for the moment. "My home is somewhat in between the two, so it's nearly an equal distance to either. The Loch is always super pretty during the summer though." Now that she could pull up good memories for. Even something of a smile as she remembered how pretty the sun would reflect off the water. That and how nice the water felt on those hotter days. "I do like visiting Haven too though! Usually so I can get more seeds from the market. I have a, ah, garden you see." She said a little sheepishly.
Because let's be honest it was more of a miniature mixture forest at this point.

Blessed is Arithelia, Mother of Magi. Blessed is the Inner Flame, eternally bright and warm as the sun. Blessed is the Tranquil Sea, ever formless and shifting. Blessed is the Solid Earth, firm and unbroken. Blessed is the Mending Hand, gentle and generous. -Jason Reed
Jason didn’t need to watch the change nor hear the choked sob to know that his words had dredged up painful memories of that dark time for his young traveling companion. It was both surprising and pleasing to see that she bounced back so easily. His features shifted again into a much more obvious smile as he listened patiently to Lelianna’s babbling. She was a pleasant distraction that he welcomed; it broke the monotony of wandering through the woods.
“The loch is an impressive sight during the waning of the sun’s light,” Jason added. “Meditating upon upon he violets and oranges reflecting from the water’s surface gave me much peace. There is something entrancing about such a sight, wouldn’t you agree?” Indeed, there appeared to be something almost magical about the great body of water; it was as though a spell had been cast upon its waters to enchant those that looked upon them. It was a foolish thought, surely, a child’s fantasy given form in the mind of one who had long since lost the pure innocence of youth. Yet the teachings of the Dreamweaver and Her Dreamers were clear upon the philosophy that a spark of creativity lived in the passing of years and took many forms; Jason merely wrote of his fanciful musings as a manifestation of that artistic spark.
“A garden, you say? It’s unfortunate that I have yet to come across you until now. Knowing you would’ve made feeding myself a much easier task.” He chuckled; gathering berries and hunting was an excellent pastime, but it was also tedious work. A friend with a garden would’ve been quite the boon.
The giant of a man stopped in his tracks and turned to Lelianna. “It is here that we must part ways. The edge of the Great Wood isn’t far now and I do not wish to take you too far from your home.” His tail unlimbered his tail and rested it gently on his companion’s shoulder. “Fair well, Sister of Earth. We shall meet once again.” With that, he turned and continued on with his journey.
