[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] Seven years of isolation. Seven years of loneliness. Seven years of healing and praying and soul searching. For seven year, Jason had kept himself separate from the world at large. It was a world that was slowly imploding upon itself, one of war and discord and violence. It was not a world that the man felt he could be a part of. But that time had passed. Now was the time to venture out into the world and help to make it a better place with words of wisdom and understanding.[break][break]However, the sad truth of the matter was that not all were willing to listen. There were many that wouldn’t be swayed by words of any sort and understood one thing and one thing alone: violence. Another sad fact was that such beings would inflict terrible things upon others before eventually come to an end in the same manner that they lived. For a group of Hunters on the edge of the forest, that end had come far more quickly than they’d intended. They’d been chasing a ragged group of his magi brothers and sisters. They were tired beyond belief and barely able to stand, much less fight wolves on the hunt. It was fortunate for them that fate seemed to decree that Jason be nearby at the time and thus able to intervene.[break][break]He’d tried to reason at first, but that method quickly proved to be ineffective. Where words failed, crushing earth and flying fists had prevailed. The hunters—young wolves looking to wet their teeth—were felled one by one. At the end of the battle, Jason had stood tall over the cooling bodies and offered a prayer for their souls to reach the Soul Keeper and return to the Cycle. Then, he led the magi down the safe paths towards sanctuary, to Haven. He watched as some among the group he’d led fell to their knees and openly wept. They’d been traveling on little more than a hope and a prayer and had suffered immeasurably, but now those prayer’s had been answered and the joy was overwhelming.[break][break]It brought the barest hint of a smile to his face as he watched them. Let me know if you have any questions or if this works/doesn't work <3 Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face Elijah was easily one of the most recognizable figures walking down the halls. The man didn't need a white cane swaying in front of him for the nurses and zero magi doctors to clear the path. Regardless of being one of leaders of the Magi Liberation Movement the act wasn't out of respect. True, the earth magi could make his away around fairly impressively even considering his disability. But it was an unconscious understanding that the man was still blind.
A nurse pushing an elderly water magi along in a wheelchair frowned lightly. If Mr Kingsley was here it was for only a certain number of reasons. Another one of their own, a magi brother or sister, had been harmed through one manner or another. Had another fallen in the line of duty? Though the leader himself was overall a kind gent as far as the nurse was aware, it was never a good sign to see him walking down the medical ward as such. A tragedy had occurred, that's what his presence meant.
Feeling for the slightly cracked open door Elijah knocked twice before peeking his head in. "Excuse me? Is this room 312 or did I miscount?" The zero magi doctor within the room would turn to smile warmly at the leader. The lady doctor would confirm that he'd found the correct room before returning the stethoscope around her neck. Yes, magi had been harmed. The nurse from earlier had been right in that regard. But they were harmed instead of dead. "I'm very happy to have been able to meet you all. I heard about all of you arriving in our city and wished to extend my hand--"
The leader wasn't able to finish his thoughts. He was pulled into a weepy embrace. Elijah paused in understanding, blindly hugging the stranger back. To many pilgrims the sight of an MLM leader meant safety. They were officially safe now within the organization's protective walls, both metaphoric and literal. "Welcome home." Elijah would say into the fellow magi's shoulder.
"Excuse me?" Elijah would ask as he approached the table. Haven's hospital kitchen was humbler than one in a human city's. But the food was arguably much improved than the mush offered else where. "I was told of a brother that assisted a group of migrants with surviving a hunter attack and then escorted them to Haven. Are you that man?" Elijah would wait patiently for the one sitting at the table to answer his inquiry. His time with the refugees had been on the short side. The doctor needed to continue in his check. The group was heavily fatigued. It was understandable. But this mysterious giant forest man that had saved their lives also seemed worth Elijah's time in getting to know. when it's only in my memory Minnie of GS

[nospaces][googlefont=Abel|Open+Sans] [attr="class","jarheathenscontainer"] [attr="class","jarheathensbg"] [attr="class","jarheathenstext"] [attr="class","jarheathenspic"] Jason opened his eyes slightly and cast a glance in the direction of the voice. His gaze was met with the visage of a man with dark skin that nearly match his own. Hair woven into dreadlocks with vines bearing growths of flower interlaced graced the man’s head and he carried himself with an air of confidence that was difficult to ignore. There was power in his stance and a sureness of self in the placement of his feet. And the way that the earth seemed to guide him...[break][break]A voice whispering in his head doubted that the man needed the cane clutched lightly in his hand to find his way. Jason’s eyes drifted upwards to where the man’s eyes should’ve been. Though he couldn’t see beyond the sunglasses the man wore, Jason could still make out the barest hints of scarring on the man’s brow and cheeks. It was cause for the slightest shift on his face in the form of a raised eyebrow. The chitin plates of his tail clicked together as the limb shifted. “Yes, it is I that you seek, Brother of Earth. It was a fortunate thing that I happened upon them before the hunters pursuing them could finish their hunt. The temptation of fresh prey gave our brothers and sisters time to escape.” His tail ceased its twitching and somberly wrapped itself about his waist.[break][break]“I’m glad to have been able to save them, even if the same could not said of the hunters. Their deaths were… senseless, but necessary.” It weighed heavily on his heart to admit, but the wolf pups had been beyond reason; violence was the only recourse.[break][break](OOC notes: voice sample) [attr="class","jarcreditdiv"] made by jaronart[newclass=.jarheathenscontainer]width:400px;height:600px;background:#fff;border:10px solid #540000;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathensbg]background:url(http://i.imgur.com/6wUMbM2h.jpg);opacity:1;width:400px;height:600px;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstitle]font-family:Abel;font-size:30px;font-weight:bold;float:center;text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #3B0000;text-transform:uppercase;color:#A30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;margin-top:-370px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext]font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;width:350px;height:300px;text-align:justify;padding:20px;overflow:auto;color:#fff; opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;background:#000;text-spacing:2px;float:center;margin-top:-350px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenspic]width:100px;height:100px;border:10px solid #a30000;opacity:0;transition:all 0.5s linear 0s;float:left;margin: 5px 20px 5px 0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarcreditdiv]font-family:Abel;float:center;color:#a30000;font-size:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext b]color:#a30000;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstitle"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenstext"]opacity:0.8;color:#fff[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenscontainer:hover .jarheathenspic"]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=".jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar"]width:5px;background-color:white;[/newclass] [newclass=.jarheathenstext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:2px;background-color:#a30000;[/newclass]

Let's dive into this topic [rolls up sleeves] Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face Elijah listened patiently. If his disability had taught him anything it was patience. And yet a lengthy wait was not necessary in this particular conversation. The yes or no asked question was answered simply with an affirmative. Elijah's pleased smile would only grow as the other continued. Not only at the words chosen to spoken but the tone. Gods, this man didn't just come across as a giant in the vibrations his feet caught attention of but the voice only seemed to further confirm this. Giants were good to have around. Elijah's mind couldn't help but wander to one other recently met giant named Drew that he had his metaphoric eyes on. Giants were beneficial. That's all there was to it.
"Very well put, brotherrrr ...?" Elijah would end his compliment with the name inquiry. If a name was spoken of the earth magi would offer blindly a hand outwards to shake. "Elijah." He would say if he felt a hand grip his back. Obviously noteworthy would the difference in size be. "I wanted to come over and not only introduce myself but thank you." With his hand being released Elijah would feel for a seat successfully so as to join the man.
"There is too high a number of our people ... not making it to safety." He would continue, lowering his voice so as to not upset any other magi in the area. The smile would only lessen at this point. It was not natural to grin through such grim topics. "That's why I work every single day of my life to try and lessen that number." Oh, that segway. Elijah had performed this conversation with many others in the past. It was a natural topic, one that flowed naturally.
"You've proven yourself as a man who can not only handle himself but protect others from the demons that wish to continue doing harm to our people." The sound of a laughing child patient across the room would resound in the distance causing a momentary pause. There was a reason he did what he did. And it was the pipedream of hearing his daughter laugh again while being held in his arms. "What you did was necessary for the survival of those migrants. What I wish to ask of you, if I may be so bold, is if you would be interested in joining me." Elijah would say simply, cutting to the chase. "Accomplishing what is necessary for the survival of not only a few, but for our people." when it's only in my memory Minnie of GS

Blessed is Arithelia, Mother of Magi. Blessed is the Inner Flame, eternally bright and warm as the sun. Blessed is the Tranquil Sea, ever formless and shifting. Blessed is the Solid Earth, firm and unbroken. Blessed is the Mending Hand, gentle and generous. -Jason Reed
Jason took Elijah’s hand in his own and gave it a firm shake. “Jason. Jason Reed.” Jason nodded at the introduction as his tail clacked appreciatively at the roughness of his brother’s hand. That his hand was all but engulfed in his own meant little to him. He’d learned long ago that size had little to do with one’s strength, especially when it came to his brothers and sisters; his own mother and father had taught him that. “No thanks are necessary, Brother Elijah,” Jason said. “It is only natural for one to protect his kin when the need arises.” He watched as Elijah felt for a seat; he did not wish to disrespect his brother by aiding him when it was unneeded.
Jason clasped his hands together and let them rest on the table as he listened to Elijah’s delivery of his next line. He nodded his sad agreement that a clear majority of his brothers and sisters would never reach the sanctuary of Haven in good health, if they arrived at all. The children of the Huntress were nothing if not through in the pursuit of their hunts against his kin. He kept his breathing slow and smooth as the conversation took a seemingly natural turn for the man, so much so that he genuinely wondered how often this particular topic came up in conversation. A more cautious inclination of the head followed the mention of demons. It appeared Elijah had more in mind that he’d originally let on.
A child’s laughter briefly distracted him from the conversation at hand. “And what would exactly would entail my joining, brother?” He cast an intense gaze in Elijah direction to gauge his reaction.

Nothin' else seems to hurt like the smile on your face Cautious. That was good. A giant was beneficial, yes. But a giant that was intelligent enough to be cautious and wary? That was nearing closer and closer to gold mine territory. Brawn and muscle were temporary while stupid tended to last forever for those that had no wisdom to self improve. It was nice to see that wouldn't have to be taught.
"Well I'll be frank with you." Elijah began, folding his hands upon the table. "I am apart of a group called the Magi Liberation Movement, MLM for short. We tend to have some form of name recognition by most now." A single leaf fell from the vines that grew through out his dreads as he continued. The tiny green leaf would flutter until it landed in the middle of the table the two men sat at. The action seemingly going unnoticed by the blind earth magi.
"With a media controlled by a human bias you may have some preconceived notions about us, positive or negative. Bottom line we strive to create a safe haven for our people to live in," The man counted upon calloused fingers, "and strive to reshape the country into a form that treats us with the equality we deserve."
"Wisdom, a sense of confidentiality and an ability to follow orders if they are given to you." Elijah would say simply. "If there was anything that was entailed of you to join, it would be you having a firm grasp on those three concepts." Having expressed his peace the man would sit back a touch, sharing a small smile. "After hearing of how you helped those migrants I really think you would be an incredible asset to our cause. You could help save hundreds of lives and improve our quality of life." when it's only in my memory Minnie of GS

Patience was another of Jason’s virtues and it served him well as he listened to Elijah speaking his piece. He had to admit that the speech was a well-rounded one. Each inflection was aimed to lend power. No word was wasted. All in all, it was well-spoken. A younger Jason would’ve likely been swayed instantly by the charismatic speech. However, he wasn’t the brash, untested youth that had once been. His rage and hate was tempered by understanding and years of inner reflection. Words alone wouldn’t sway him so easily.
Jason took a few moments to look upon the fallen petal as he gathered his thoughts. His breathing slowed until it scarcely made a sound. His tail shifted into a more comfortable position while he allowed his mind to wander across the possibility presented to him. Then, he spoke, voice level and firm.
“I thank you for your candor, my brother,” he said. “It speaks highly of your character and the cause you speak of is a worthy one. Our race titers on the edge of the abyss and it’s likely that it would take little more than a steady breeze to push us over the brink. The Great Mother weep to witness the sad state Her children have forced into.
“Yet, for all the worth your cause might hold, I cannot help but wonder what methods you shall use to pursue it.” Jason leveled an even stare at his brother. “I have remained apart from the world at large for many years, so this is knowledge that I have yet to acquire. That knowledge will be the deciding factor, for I refuse to be drawn into your organization without information of its methods.”
