[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever ((Hey this thread is open to all and newbie friendly! Come post!!)) Most eyes were up at the stage. Cadence’s first two songs of the set were warm-ups, mostly hums and freestyle la-dee-dahs over a jazzy piano or violin. Simple, but still powerful in their own right. With them, she had set the tone of the bar; full of life, fun, and energy, but relaxed, laid-back. Before she took the stage earlier, the din of the bar seemed impenetrable, but her gentle songs carried enough weight to hush it to a low murmur. This was the largest bar in the district, (not counting the strip clubs, of course), right on the outskirts of the main strip, and attracted the most moderate and diverse crowd. It seemed that every seat was full, despite how early it was in the evening; the bar, the balcony seats, the tables; even the standing room was getting crowded. In the center, the stage, where the small Magi, in her fine white sleeveless dress, her white wings shining bright, stood in front of a piano. A violin was propped against it and a small recorder amp rest below, already loaded with her prerecorded accompaniment. A stick of peach-scented incense burned low on top of the piano, a tribute to Arithelia, and a tradition of hers. The spotlight was literally on her, casting the rest of the bar in a gentle shadow. She smiled. She remembered back, months ago, when the nervous little bird shook like a leaf in front of a crowd a fraction of this, at a much smaller bar, without even a real stage. She suppressed a laugh at her past self. The music carried her through then, and it would now. She took a slow survey of the crowd. All sorts of people were here; magi and cyborgs, the well-off and the penniless, regulars and new faces. She spotted her little family, standing meekly in the back. The two children waved frantically at her, and she returned a polite little wave, barely a motion. With a gentle twirl, she faced the piano once more, and gently plucked the mic from its stand. “Thank you, everyone, for lending your ear to this Little Crow. Your support is what keeps me going, and I do mean that.” Her voice was as gentle as a pristine lake, but carried stronger than a tsunami. “This is the last song of this set, before we welcome the other performers to the spotlight. I’ll be closing this evening as well, so I hope you can stick around.” She lowered her eyes, and the bar seemed to hush entirely. There was a brief pause, a moment of pure serenity. Then, in a voice as smooth and fragile as glass, she said “This one … This one isn’t dedicated yet. But it still goes out to you.” She sat at the piano bench, put the mic back, and took a deep breath, in and out. Then, her fingers danced. ((Click for the music! Autoplay Warning!))
((0:00)) Many lit up, recognizing the tune. It was one of her favorites. Her entire body swayed with the notes, like wheat in a gentle summer breeze. She inhaled, and stepped on the amp pedal, freeing the drums. -- ((0:27, lyrics enter with the drums and tend to follow the higher SINGLE piano notes)) Dusk in the sky
She glows just like the moon
Ask me to dance
And my heart will beat the tune
Dance ~
With ~
Me ~
Take me past the sky
and the moon
fly anywhere, darling
Show me what you feel for me just
Grab my hand and hold me tight and dance with me in love's twilight
And spin me 'round then dip me low, the sun will set I won't let go
And please, dear, one more song
Please, my love, while night grows long
Dance ~
With ~
Me ~
-- Another step on the pedal, and the violin faded in. Her eyes closed. When she opened them, she only saw the raw colors of the song's feeling. To the bar, her eyes became shiny black orbs, like a bird’s, and she now moved and sung with godlike energy and grace. -- ((1:17)) Show, me the steps, guide me
deeper into your song, love
I'll sing it for-ev-er
Always on my lips you will dance so sweetly
And, as the night grows dark
With just the moon to shine down on us
Can you hear my heart beating away?
Hear it beat louder when you say
“Darling
Dance ~
With ~
Me ~"
Hold on to me tight
I'll fly you to the sky
Show you
Just how, just how you
Lift ~
Me ~
Up ~
Grab my hand and hold me close and show me that you love me most
Just kiss me short then kiss me long, I'll always know where I belong
Don't let go of me I'm not ready to
Say ~
Good ~
Night ~
((2:19))
Mor-ning comes,
dawn's sun
shining
down over us
Lighting up
As we embrace
Drift to sleep
Still holding tight
In my dreams
Our dance goes on
Keep you in my wings
Here, in my heart
I'll sing your song
Dance, forever yours
Here, in my heart
I'll sing my song
Dance, forever yours
Here, in our hearts
We'll sing our song
We will dance, on and on ~ ~ ~
-- As the last note faded, so too did the vast brilliance of emotion's colors, soon becoming the familiar setting of the bar once more. With a few blinks, her eyes fluttered back to normal. She stood up. “Thank you.” She said, and barely nodded her head as a bow. There was a fleeting silence before the uproar of applause. Not everyone clapped or cheered, of course - it would be a cold day in hell before they openly praised a Magi- but it would take time before the bar returned to the normal din one would expect of a bar this crowded. Gingerly, she would gather up her violin and recorder amp, and take them back behind the stage, to place them in their cases before returning to the main bar, where she would no doubt be whisked into conversation as other entertainment took to the stage. She hoped at least she could have a glass of water first. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU For a change, Sterling wasn't working this night. He wasn't on the dance schedule and by God he took that as a blessing. It meant he had a night to himself without having to toss his clothing away while in a female body. He could just be himself and well, do his own bloody thing! Speaking of which, the young stag decided to go to a local business and have a drink.
He made small talk with a few people here and there but avoided anyone that looked like they might be trouble. Not because he was afraid to open his mouth, oh hell no, but merely because he wanted to chill. He didn't feel the need to start a bard fight, yet. Nor, did he have the urge to crawl under someones skin---or blankets for that matter.
Sitting off the the side, he enjoyed the music and the little song his fellow Magi was performing up stage. Sometimes, it weirded him out when he was viewing the stage in the form of a patron. It was just odd and he wasn't sure why. Must be because he was so used to being up there.
Once the darling song was over, Sterling returned to his drink. He figured that was the end of it until the charming thing wondered up next to him for a glass of water. He huffed lightly, "Water? I would think a vodka is needed more then that." After all, that was what he usually had when he was done on stage. | WORDS | xxx. | TAG | Cadence Avia | NOTES | xxx. | MUSIC | xxx. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Cadence was still all smiles as she turned to the man beside her. He seemed to be a gentle sort, or at least relaxed. Better than the type of drunk that puts their arms around your shoulders, holds you far too close, and talks two inches from your face. “I’m not much for alcohol,” she said. “Plus, nothing soothes the throat quite like a cool water. It’s something I look forward to whenever I finish.” The bartender got her a water in a large mug meant for beer. “Sure you don’t want anything more? Owner says performers eat and drink for free, y’know. Getting’ sick of worrying about you, chickadee; I ain’t remember the last time I’ve seen you eat.” She shook her head. “Maybe I’ll eat later. But if you wouldn’t mind getting a small something for the folks over there,” she said, and pointed at her little family against the far wall. “I’d appreciate it more than something for myself. Please?” He nodded. “I’ll handle it, darlin’. Just don’t tell nobody. Mira! Set those folks down there at a table and get their orders,” he said to the nearest waitress. “Thank you,” she said. She took a deep breath to relax, and grabbed the glass with both hands, like a toddler with a cup of juice. In one swift motion, she downed the entire glass. She set it back on the bar with a heavy clink and a satisfied sigh. On the stage, another band was setting up their equipment. She spun in her seat so her back was to the bar. The bartender was already getting her a refill. “Oh, I don’t know this band,” she said to the man next to her. “Do you come to these sorts of performance nights often? I’m not really used to events this large, and never get the chance to see other performers.” She looked around the bar. Goodness, there really were all sorts of people here. There was never a dull moment in Dagos. A few patrons waved or lifted their glasses at her, and she smiled and waved in response. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU The stag merely raised a single brow at her comment. Huh, water wasn't good for anything other then cooking his ramen when he could afford it. He would rather have vodka any day then water---plus it made his job much easier and much more refreshing. Though, he supposed it was each to his own. He shrugged lightly at her and returned to his drink. "Whatever you say, Doll."
Idly, the blond watched his fellow Magi redirect her food options to the people at a table in the distance. He said nothing about it but merely watched with pure indifference. Hm, if it was him he would of taken the food an ran--then promptly shoved it down his twins throat. Bitch needed to eat more anyways. Shaking his blond head he put his glass down. Unlike the girl next to him he didn't bother to turn and look at the new band.
"Yeah, they come up here sometimes. They aren't too shabby." He paused to to smirk lightly at the child. "I come to them when Im not busy on stage." He admitted with a small chuckle. "Those guys are usually the last show before things get lively. So, if I were you...I wouldn't stick around here for the later crowds. They aint too pleasant." | WORDS | xxx. | TAG | Cadence Avia | NOTES | xxx. | MUSIC | xxx. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever She smiled at the stranger’s concern for her well-being. He seemed sweet, if a little rough around the edges. Most who lived here were, after all. “Oh, I’m used to what happens when Dagos gets lively,” she said. She grabbed the new mug of water the second the barman sat it down. She paced herself, this time with dainty sips. “It’s true, it’s not always pleasant, but nothing usually happens. Though I’ll make sure they leave before long,” she said, and raised her glass towards the kids at the table. They waved at her wildly, and Cadence waved back. She stopped with a laugh when she saw Geno having trouble getting them to calm down. “And even if I wanted to, I’m closing tonight, so I’m here for a few hours yet. Thank you, though.” The bar filled with cheers when the band started their first song. Loud, somewhat off-tune, but the passion was there. It wasn’t Cadence’s type of music. Fast, sudden, multiple instruments competing… Well, to each their own. The crowd was enjoying it, at least, and the way they bounced around stage made her laugh. It was great to see people lose themselves in their passions. It reminded her of when she bashed away at the piano, back when she first moved in. Frustrated and lost, she had resorted to producing a cacophony of chords and screams which went on for nearly a week before she relaxed enough to actually practice. “Did you say you’ve been on stage before?” She asked. She turned to give him her attention. “Are you a performer, then? I’m sorry that I can’t say I recognize you; I don’t get to watch others often. What do you do?” “Oh!” She said, before he could even answer. “I’m sorry; I forgot to properly introduce myself! Please, just call me Cadence. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU
Sterling merely gave her a raised brow with a look of mild surprise. He couldn't see her dealing with people let alone drunks, noisy people, or the folks up on stage right now. Ugh, the music they played almost made Sterlings ears just wanna bleed out, including his brain. Well, the best way to tune out horrible music was to get drunk off his ass which was pretty easy to do. All he needed was a few more refills and he would be golden! He shook his head lightly and signaled for a refill. Poor child, she had to stay here all right? Well, she was going to have a blast then when all the drunks came out later. The stag received his new drink and started on it. He didn't pay her much mind until the question came around about what he did on stage. The stag about choked on his drink. Ah hell, what was he supposed to tell this darling girl? She didn't look too old to him and well --- ah fuck it. The magi chuckled lightly and shrugged his shoulders. She was going to learn about things one way or another. "Yeah, I'm a performer...though I don't do anything like you do or them." He mused on that for a moment. "Im a stripper or what I like to call, a dancer." He pointed out with a loop sided grin. [attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Cadence turned red and averted her eyes. “O-Oh,” she said. Of course she knew that the red light area had plenty of those types of bars, but she’d never personally been in one. After a moment of silence, she laughed. “I guess that’s why I’ve never seen you on stage before, then, huh? It’s nice to meet you” She was at a loss for words. She’d never talked to someone who did that before; what if she said something offensive? She took a long drink to give her mouth something to do while she thought of what to say. Geno caught her eye from her family’s table. He nodded towards the exit. The bar was much livelier, much noisier, and much rowdier. She nodded the affirmative. “Pardon me,” she said to Sterling. She turned to the barman “Could they have those meals to go, please?” She stood when he gave the thumbs-up. The crowd was thinner this far back, but it still took some weaving to get to the table, where her family was standing up. The magi children ran up to her and hugged her legs. “Caydee! That was awesome! You were so good! Can you play that for us again? You’re way better than these guys! Geno says we’re going, do we really have to go?” She laughed at their stream of excitement. She put a hand on each of their heads and ruffled their hair. “Yes, it’s time to go.” They whined. She cooed. “Now, now, none of that. Wait by the door for some food. Don’t worry, I’ll play you two a song in the morning, okay?” After making her promise them, the kids, the older man, and the silent android went to the door. She waved a final goodbye as they were given their to-go boxes, and she returned to her seat at the bar. “Sorry for that,” she said. “Do, uh, do you like it? Dancing, I mean? I bet that takes a lot of coordination. It can’t be easy, right? Do you need to be in good shape?” Her face felt warm as she bombarded the poor man with questions. She did find it interesting, but didn’t want to bother him. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU The blond smiled ever so sweetly at the innocent little angel next to him. It was rather charming that it took her half a second to realize what kind of dancing he admitted to and how she reacted to his words. In truth, it was rather endearing and if it was within his character he would of pinched those little cheeks. Luckily, for her, it was not a part of his character and thus all he did was sip on his drink.
"Yeah, I guess that would be why you never see me on stage. Cause that one is missing a pole." The stag chuckled as he jerked a thumb towards the stage that was being used by a band that he didn't prefer to listen too at all. The stag grew silent as he merely watched the exchange between her and what he assumed to be her family.
Hmm, it was a rather cute scene it was just too bad that he didn't give a shit about it. He waited until she returned to him on the subject of dancing. He had figured she would of ran off with them and thus a bit surprised to see her back. Especially, with the questions she sudden tossed at him.
Glancing at her oddly, he shrugged his shoulders. "It takes upper body strength and lower as well otherwise its really hard to get yourself off and on the ground."
"It's just something you practice. As for liking it? Yes, I rather like my job a lot and the dancing aspect of it even if I lose my clothing in the process." It was true, he actually did love to dance and it was the only dancing someone like him was allowed to do and get paid for it. So, it was a win-win even if his twin wouldn't agree with him on that. | WORDS | xxx. | TAG | Cadence Avia | NOTES | xxx. | MUSIC |xxx. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Cadence nodded along as he spoke, her embarrassment fading with his nonchalant way of talking. “It's always good to enjoy what you do,” she said. “I'm glad to hear it; a lot of performers don't really get a chance to do what they want. Even I'm barely getting by, to be honest.” This was her highest-paying gig yet, but still, between providing for her little family, herself, restoring the temple, and trying to save up to give the kids a better life, her pockets always seemed empty. Still, as long as she could provide for them, she was content. “So, I'm sorry if I'm being too nosy,” she said. Her fingers tapped on her almost-empty mug of water. “I'm just not too familiar with that... style... of dancing. But it's popular, from what I understand; surely it can't all be because of the, uh,” she felt her face warming once more. “Er, the nudity... right? It's the combination, isn't it? That's... special. I don't think I could do it,” she said, laughing. “I don't think I have the body for it. Between the wings and my legs and these hollow bones, I'd probably fall and break something!” Immediately, it dawned on her that she... probably made the topic even more awkward for the both of them by adding that bit. Fortunately for her, a few moments later (which unfortunately gave him time to address it), there was a small mishap with the music equipment; it sounded like the sound system bit the dust, because the music stopped abruptly, followed by laughter from the crowd, and the singer throwing a tantrum on stage. This soon snowballed into a huge argument between several band members while one tried frantically to figure out what shorted the system. At this point, the crowd was egging on the argument, chanting for a fight. Cadence turned her attention away from the stage and sunk back as far as she could in her seat, visibly uncomfortable; she wanted no part of this, and hoped it would blow over. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU
Yes, yes it was always good to enjoy what you do and boy did Sterling enjoy his job. Well, for the most part at least. He did like making money even if his twin was very much against showing off what their mother gave him. But, beggars couldn't be choosers and not many people hired Magi outside the Slums. Sterling actually smiled at the kid a moment later. Ya know, she wasn't half bad to talk to once she was off stage. He just kinda wanted to reach out and ruffle her hair like she was his little sister or some random shit like that. Strange. Ah well, weird shit has happened other then randomly bonding with a crow. The stag laughed lightly then and held up a hand, "You're hardly being nosy. I don't think there is anything nosy you can say...plus I've been drinking. So, ya know, there is that loose lip thing going on too." He stated while peering back down at his now empty glass. Huh, when did it suddenly get so empty? Crap, he wanted another one too but if he kept drinking he would run out of money eventually and then his brother would beat him. Beat him into a bloody and very drunken mess at that point. He supposed he outta stay somewhat sober so he could walk home. Hesitantly, he lowered his glass like a grounded child. Hearing the young girls words he tilted his head to her and a moment later that grin grew. Daww, she was turning colors it looked like. Poor thing, so uncomfortable with nudity. "Hehe, yeah, some of it deals with nudity. Some folk go partial and others full." He gave her a little wink. "Im a mixture depending on gender and mood. But yeah, gotta have some killer skills and strong upper body to do half the shit we do on stage." He mused, "Otherwise you--yeah, you fall on the stage or off it. Ya got the right idea." Sterling chuckled. Oh, such a pure and innocent child it was so endearing. When was the last time he was around someone so pure? Hmm, never probably. Growing silent for moment due to personal thoughts he was soon brought out of them from the mishap on stage. The stag visibly cringed and turned suddenly to the stage while declaring in surprise, "Sweet Baby, Arithelia! What the flying fuck was th---oh. Hmm, never mind I see what that is all about now and---looks like a fight might break..." He stopped, turning his gaze upon her he slowly lifted a brow of mild concern. [attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever Sterling’s increasingly loose attitude fished a smile out of the nervous girl. She found herself laughing along as he talked about falling off stage, and nodded along. He (they? She never knew what to call those Magi who could change…) was clearly happy with what he did; most people in Dagos seemed so glum and gloomy all the time. It was a good change to find someone with energy. When the incident onstage happened, and she became more reserved, she barely registered that he had said anything to her after his exclamation. “Hm? Oh, um, yes, I’m okay, thank you,” she said in the least confident tone ever heard. “I just, um, really don’t like violence? Or… the people laughing and yelling at them. That sound could have gone out for anyone.” CRACK! Fist met jaw on stage, and the crowd erupted into cheers and hollers. For now, it seemed like they were only interested in the show; the stage was far enough away from the patrons to where an errant fist couldn’t accidentally hit someone and start a domino effect. Two members tried to go at it while a third tried to physically separate them and the fourth still frantically worked on the sound. The security was already on their way to separate the fight, and to Cadence, it couldn’t happen soon enough. “This is supposed to be a night of music and art, not fighting,” she said. Her own drink was empty and she set it on the bar next to his. She drummed her fingers on the bar and kept her gaze anywhere else than towards the stage. “I guess it just sort of soured everything. They might call it early.” That would be a real shame. She enjoyed shows, and could use the money; if she didn’t close, they’d likely cut her pay for tonight. She struggled to find a topic to distract her from it all. “Er, does this sort of thing happen a lot where you perform?” She asked. “My shows are usually… less violent than this.” [attr="class","text-lyrics"]Always on my lips you will dance so sweetly the leviathan @ GS & BRSW[newclass=.icon-bg]padding:10px;border:1px solid #000;height:100px;width:100px;margin-right:10px;[/newclass][newclass=.iconhere]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity: 0;[/newclass][newclass=.iconheres:hover]-moz-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.9s ease-in-out;opacity:1;[/newclass][newclass=.notestxt]padding-top:20px;font:small-caps 10px 'Times New Roman',serif;color:#fff;text-align:justify;padding:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics]display:inline-block;font: italic 9px/100% Times New Roman,serif;text-align:center;letter-spacing:1px;width:80%;border-bottom:1px solid #000;line-height:0.1em;margin:10px 0 20px;margin-left:30px;[/newclass][newclass=.text-lyrics span]background:#fff;padding:0 10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.post]font:11px Times New Roman,serif;color:#1c1c1c;padding:0px 20px 0px 0px;height:350px;width:330px;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;line-height:130%;position:relative;margin-top:-400px;margin-left:100px;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-track]border:1px solid #000;background-color:#fff;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#000;[/newclass][newclass=.post::-webkit-scrollbar]width:4px;background-color:#fff;[/newclass]

Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU
Sterling smiled up at the stage as soon as the violence broke out. The Magi was so used to violence in this world that it really didn't phase him at all. He merely chuckeld at the poor display and probably would of encouraged it if the girl beside him didn't look so unnerved by it. Ugh, normally he didn't give to two shits about other folk but this kid was growing on him---or maybe he was just too drunk? That was also a possibility because he was very certain he was a bit on the tipsy side. Leaving his glass abandoned he turned towards the stage to watch the show. "Meh, violence is a part of our world now but if it makes uneasy then best not pay it any mind." The stag cringed lightly as one member took a fist to the face. Oh, that was not going to leave a pretty mark in the morning. Poor fool. Sterling pulled his gaze finally away from the madness to look at the little thing beside him. He frowned slightly and shook his head at her. He wasn't going to do anything to break the fight up but he decided it might be best to move along else where. Standing, he offered the girl his hand. "Come on, how about I walk you home or some shit?" He asked and chuckled once again at the question about his work place. In truth, his place was a bit on the shadey side. People came and went without questions, dancers disappeared, and sometimes violence happened. However, most of the time it was more adult matters that happened in his place both around the stage and behind it. He wasn't too sure if he wanted to share that kind of information with her though. So, he decided to do a slight bit of editing. "Nah, there really isn't that kind of violence where I work...just other maters but meh. My shows contain a different kind of drunken audience." He chuckled lightly at that and tossed a bit of money on the counter regardless if the girl took his hand or not. "Anyways, its getting a bit loud in here don't ya think?"

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever She sighed. “It is a part of it... but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Or want to change it.” She leaned forward and looked around him at the stage. It wasn't anyone's fault... why fight? She sank back, only to jolt up straight as he offered his hand. “O-oh that's very kind,” she said, looking at it. “But I do need to stay. I'm the closing performance, after all.” “Actually,” the bartender said. She turned around to face him. “Between the sound goofing and the fight, I think we won't have time for another one, given all the other performers we have lined up.” “Ah,” she said. She looked down. The bartender tossed her a bundle of cash, which she barely caught in time. It was thin, and mostly small bills. Before she could say anything, he raised his hand up. “As far as I'm concerned, it ain't your fault. We'll pay ya for both. The register might be a bit short tonight, but let me handle that.” He grabbed Sterling's money as soon as it hit the bar. He winked, and she smiled. “Thank you so much!” She turned back to Sterling and stood up. “I guess if you wouldn't mind, it looks like it's an early night for me. I'd like to get away from all the noise.” Noise was all it was, between random screeches of feedback, the fighting, and the chanting, it was becoming too much for her. She would walk with him out the door, if he still wanted to, into the cool night air of the city. There were a number of people outside. Some smoked, others were looking for their rides, and others just sat around talking. “I'm not so far,” she said. “Just a few blocks down, in the slums. Oh, but, I can make it, if you'd like. I don't want you to go too far out of your way...” If he went towards the slums, she would walk along with him. Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU
Violence, meh, it was something Sterling was very familiar with, in fact, he lived with it daily. Being a Fire Magi meant he was a target for almost everything and living in the Slums didn't help too much either. Thus the action on the stage was nothing more then his average day. However, the little crow seemed to handle the violence a bit -- well-- not like him. It only made him wonder how a girl like her would even live in this hell hole. The slums was anything but safe and the Hunters sometimes crawled through the areas just waiting for a fuck up. "Suppose yer right." He shrugged his shoulders but still smiled lightly. He merely watched the little transaction between the two and didn't interrupt. He didn't even bat an eye at the money being taken and deposited for his drinks. Upon them getting ready to depart he moved to walk beside her and once at the door, he opened it for her. Yes, folks, Sterling Quinn just opened for a sweet little girl. He even ushered with one arm towards the door and then followed after at his own pace. "Live out in the Slums? Eh, so do I and I don't live too far from the Red light area. Erm, but ya best not ever go that direction. Ya might get some unwanted company doing that and that isn't a good thing. You're too cute and someone might steal ya." Oh, drunken Sterling spoke with truth and honesty. She was adorable like a daughter he never had or rather---well no--he did have a "sister" in a way. Still, he felt the urge to remind her of things she probably all ready knew. It was as if he was teaching Kyne all over again not to do things or where not to go. He even pointed towards the Red Light as if that would help make a point that didn't need to be made. "Be real sad. Erm, anyways enough with that shit, Kid." He scratched the side of his face mostly due to the itch then anything else. "I assume those folks that where here eariler was part of your family?" He questioned, Sterling was feeling rather chatty right now which could be a very good thing or a very bad thing depending on the topic matter. | WORDS | xxx. | TAG | Cadence Avia | NOTES | OTL I AM SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY! | MUSIC |xx MADE BY VEL OF GS

[attr="class","post"] [attr="class","text-lyrics"]I'll sing it forever She laughed a little as he held the door for her. “Such a gentleman! Thank you!” There was no sarcasm in her tone, but the grandiose way he ushered struck her as a little odd coming from him. But that was just another reason to not judge a person on their looks. “Oh, I know,” she assured him. “It’s been my home for… huh, about 7 or 8 years now. I’ve… had some run-ins, but not for a while.” She looked around the area. This was a new part of town; not a lot of bars in the red light called for her type of music, and the other ones that did were closer to her part of the slums. She felt more secure within a few blocks of her home than she did anywhere else in the city; she knew most people there, and they knew her. The more she helped strangers, the less violent her area of the slums became. “Turns out that if you show people compassion, they’ll often return it. I don’t worry too much, so don’t you start either, okay?” She flashed him a big smile on the last word. He was a nice man to be so concerned, kind of like she imagined an older brother would be. And he was right, too; sometimes she forget that the slums outside of her bubble were not the safest places. She was happy to move to lighter subjects. “They’re my family, but also not. We’re not related. We all just sort of… came together, right out in the slums. I have dozens of friends and people I love like family, but they’re… special.” She brightened up as she reflected on them. “The kids are magi, orphaned at a young age. I’m like their older sister. The older gentleman is Geno; he’s… ah, well, looking for some peace. And the android is Reboot; his ‘owner’ threw him away, but we all managed to get enough scrap to get him back together and running.” “What about you? Do you have family?” She asked the question with tepid hesitation. It was often a sad subject for magi.
