Nils has a partner with whom he works on cases, and who just so happens to be one of his best friends (if not the best). Their personality, background, and appearance will be up to you in general, but I would be more than happy to help brainstorm. This person has been working against the anti-magi sentiments rampant within Ethea for several years, if not their entire career. They have a good working relationship with Nils, although not necessarily with the rest of their branch. Perhaps they are the rogue agent who constantly earns reprimands and thrives on conspiracy theories, or perhaps they are a strictly by-the-book operator. It's up to you. Keep in mind that this is also the person who dragged Nils into his current career, and would have been an agent of HCIS for at least a few years before they met.
