Yukimaru yawned as he punched the table’s order into the computer. ”Uggghhh I need some caffeine.” he mumbled, ringing in yet another set of waters. And for these people to start buying some actual drinks.
He wore the basic Uniform that consisted of a very loose white cotton shirt, paired with a leather vest held together by black string, a pair of brown slacks, a dirty white apron that fell to his knees, and specially made non-slip leather boots.
The young man systematically put in the order starting at the left side of the table and circle around. Two soups n’ salads with water... one Fish n’ chips and 4 Wings… and send... The young man looked at the price of the overall bill, five people and barely thirty bucks on the tab. Great.
With a few taps on the screen he brought up his second table’s tab and press the print button before he even looked at the price. He didn’t want to know, he wasn’t making any money today. Unable to keep from looking, he looked down at the price as he placed the tab in a check presenter… 20 Bucks.
”Yup. I’m not making money today.” He said with a groan, placing the book into the front pocket of his apron and headed to the beverage station.
His hands moved without thought, tossing up glass after glass and catching them until he had five in front of him. One by one he put ice in each glass and filled them with water as he felt another person walk up behind him. ”Hey Yuki.” the female voice said without any enthusiasm. ”Hey Amanda. What’s up.” Yuki replied without turning around, still dealing with the five waters. Amanda placed an arm on the stainless steel top of the station as she leaned next to him. She looked up at Yuki and batted her eyes. ”You know my friends and I were going to go to the lake later this week. But all of them will be bringing their boyfriends, and I don’t exactly have one…” Yuki listened with only half an ear, more focused on trying to balance three glasses in one hand and then two in the other. ”… So I was hoping you could keep me from being a third wheel?”
Amanda’s tempts at flirting went right over Yuki’s head. While she was trying to ask him on a date to the lake, he thought she just wanted a friend to talk to. ”Sure. Sounds like fun, I’ll keep you company. Should be a good place for a run too…” Yuki began to walk away slowly, thinking about the sort of training regimen he wanted to start while he was there, perhaps bring some throwing knives? Hand weights? Eh. He’ll figure it out when he gets there.
”uhhh yeaaa… sure. Well we’re going next Thursday around 2, so make sure you get that off ‘kay? Oh and you got sat at 203, btdubs.”
”What? Uhhh fuuuck. Okay. Let’s do this.” he said with a groan. He looked to the new table in his section, now realizing how long he just spent talking, he was running late to greet them. Yuki sped through the restaurant to deliver the five waters to his previous table.
Yukimaru walked up to the new table. ”Hello there!” yuki said cheerfully while placing the appropriate amount of coasters at the table to mark it as ‘greeted’. ”Welcome to Rosethorn Hall. My name is Yuki and I’ll be taking care of ya’ today. Now, have we been to Rosethorn before?”

Malika had been shopping in downtown Felici. She usually didn’t come to racistass Felici that often, but she always like to think that they had better stores(emphasis on the think). Plus she liked to travel, so she had drove over to Felici for the weekend. It was a good excuse to get away from the environment she had adapted to(or so she liked to think). [break][break]
She had just gone shopping in the downtown area for work clothes. Work clothes as in not so, cheap lingerie and high heels. As a stripper they did not provide clothing at the club she worked at. Malika almost always wore heels at her job that were usually purchased from cheap hoochie stores. But she found shoes like that didn’t last that long and the heels would snap eventually.[break][break]
Anyway, she needed some new ones and decided she’d invest in a few higher quality outfits. Stripping paid okay money considering she lived alone in an apartment complex. It would take some money out of her pockets, but she’d still have enough on her without going to an ATM. So she decided she’d treat herself with something to eat by going out to a restaurant. She landed upon a new one called ‘Rosethorn’. She would seat herself at a table in a corner. Her back faced other people and her eyes were directed at a window which gaze at the ongoing rustle and hustle of people walking down the street.

She was slightly annoyed about how no had came to wait on her. She knew how it was like to wait on someone, so she’d give it some time. She would give it another 5 more minutes and then leave. But as soon as that thought appeared, it would soon dissipate as someone came to serve her now.

“Oh hello!” Malika would greet and say with a smile, “Nope, never have been here before if I can recall….” She added in as well upon hearing his question if she was new to the restaurant.

The waiter had a charming face, seemed to be around her age(acted like it to), and looked like he worked out…..a lot actually. The Magi cocked an eye, but there was something wrong about him. His hair. There seemed to be a strand of hair that wavered over his eyes, like a sun visor. That was very weird to her, maybe he just needed to gel it in place. She left this bit alone and stopped staring at him to be polite.

As Yukimaru walked to the table his mind began instantly judging it, like every server did. Oh dammit a one top. he thought, not letting his smile drop. Of course. I haven’t made any money so far why would that stop now. Ugh I need to get cut.
He gave his usual greeting, a simple hello and a question to figure out if he needed to explain the menu. “Nope,” she replied, “never have been here before if I can recall….” An odd response from someone around the same age as Yuki, her words seemed to switch from informal to an unnecessary formality. But he got the main point: She was a new customer.
”Ah cool. Well thanks for stoppin’ by!” Yuki said, keeping his tone and posture very lax and informal. To him, it always let the customer’s feel less, uptight. And those that didn’t appreciate it, well let’s just say as the son of the owners he could quite easily say “Get the fuck out of my restaurant.” Granted he’s never had to do that, but he most certainly dreamt of it with a couple of entitled mothers.
Yuki popped a squat at the head of the table, bringing his shoulders about even with the table’s edge. He did this with all of his tables. For one, it got the customer to be more open with him being lower or eye level than with him looming over them. And, more importantly, it gave his feet a break from standing. ”Let’s see, “ He continued, grabbing his notebook from his apron. ”We feel like drinking today? If so I’d suggest trying our signature drink, Dragon’s Passion.” Yuki leaned over and pointed at the drink’s location on the menu. ”Made with Dragonfruit, Passion Fruit, and rum. It’s super good. One of my favorites.”
If she denied his suggestion, not wishing to drink alcohol, Yuki wouldn’t skip a beat. It was lunch. No one wanted to drink this early, but he had to try to sell the drinks anyways. ” No Problem!” he would say, ”Well we have a pretty good selection of teas and lemonades that are pretty good too.”.
If she agreed to the drink, Yuki’s smile would genuinely brighten as he wrote a big DP in his notebook. ”Good Choice!” he’d say. ”You wont regret it, It’s a specialty for a reason.”
And If she asked about any other drink suggestions besides the Dragon’s passion, Yuki’s head would tilt a bit, honestly a bit surprised. ”Well Dragon’s Passion is the best, But if you’re a beer lover we have a good Amber as our house draft, and Granny’s apple pie is pretty good, Apple juice and cinnamon whiskey. Other than that it’s a full bar we can make whatever you want.”
Whatever the route the girl chose, when he finally got her drink he would write it down in his handy notebook and say, ”Alright. I’ll go get that started for ya while you check out the rest of the menu. Let me know if you have any questions or need biased opinions, I’ve got plenty of the latter.” He gave his final line with a quick wink and a finger gun point, just to get a laugh out of her. If you can get them to laugh you can get them to like you.
He turned around and walked to the table a couple down, pulling the check he printed out earlier. ”Sorry about the wait guys, here ya go. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day.”

Malika saw this man squat at the table so, he wouldn’t hover over her. Well, she didn’t know it was to be more friendly. But she assumed it was a quirky thing for him to. It was rather funny. She hadn’t seen a anyone do that before. Well waiter specifically ….. She did see people squat with weights all the time at the gym. She naturally felt herself to be more comfortable around the man as, he was now eye to eye with her.

“Let’s see…..I guess I could take something to drink like that,” Malika said. Malika usually didn’t have the opportunity to drink a full serving of alcohol at night anyway; she worked at a strip club so sometimes she might lie and get a customer to buy alcohol for her, drink some, then waste it. But she really WASN’T supposed to drink on the job, she didn’t need to flirt with people while drunk. Something could happen to her or she could get fired.
[break][break]things. Usually you could the signature item only at that location. So why not try something unique and good? There wasn’t anything wrong with trying out new things, right?

“I’ll take the signature drink then. You said the Dragon Passion? Right? That sounds cool,” she’d say. It’d be a bit high probably, just like all alcohol, but today was a day to treat herself.

She would smile and giggle as he winked at her. That was flirtatious right? Yeah, he was definitely trying to be cute with her. She’d react just in time while he was still looking at her; she'd wink and smile back at him.

It was the wink wasn’t it? Yea that’s flirting in normal language. But all I wanted was a laugh! Yea, and now she’s gonna try flirting more and you’re gonna have to deal with that. Nah fuck it, I’ll play stupid. You really don’t have to “play” at that.The thoughts poured through Yuki’s mind as he walked to the other table. They were jabbering back and forth a hundred a second, arguing and questioning back and forth in an endless loop. However, as he looked up with a smile to give out the check, they were silenced. As his mind just focused on his job, he no longer focused on anything else. And not long afterwards, it would be completely forgotten. “Harumph”“Hmm?” Yukimaru looked and focused on the man’s face at the table. The guest was definitely grumpy. Was it the food? The drink? The bill? Oh gods no please no. Don’t be angry now. I actually want to get a tip today. “Is there something wrong?” Yuki said, tilting his head. The man had his eyes fixed where Yukimaru just came from, fixed on Malika. There was a definite look of hatred in his eyes, but Yukimaru didn’t realize the source until he began to speak. ”Yea there’s something wrong.” He spat, ”Why do you let that in here?” Yukimaru caught the malice and hatred coming from the man’s voice and immediately dropped his smile. His brow furrowed and his lips pursed as he clenched his jaw. Yuki followed the man’s gaze towards Malika and it finally donned on him. Malika was a Magi, Yuki never really paid much attention to it at first. He didn’t care. But unfortunately his little bubble of ignorance that he liked to keep himself in just got popped; racists do exist. And he just served one of them. His head turned back to the man, albeit a lot slower, as if he was forcing his gaze back to the douchebag. His gaze turned into a glare and zeroed in on the man. Yuki placed his hands on table, fingers gripping the surface as if he was keeping himself from scratching the surface. “You may not have noticed,“ he said, his voice struggling to keep a relatively low volume. “But there’s a Symbol. Right there on the door.” He gestured at a sticker on the front door window. “That Symbol,” His voice began to rise, his anger slowly beginning to overcome his patience. “Means that this is a “safe place” where we accept customers of any race.” His hands gripped the edge of the table; at this point it took every fiber of his being to keep from chucking the thing at him. The man was surely shocked to be met with such anger. However, it appears this was the type of man who did not like being talked down to by the person who is clearly meant to serve him. So, Naturally, He decided to open his mouth. ”Well If I new that I never would have eaten here. I should probably have the health department check for goat hair in the soup.” His words turned to a sneer, and met Yukimaru with the same amount of anger. ”And While I’m at it, I want to speak to your manager.”Oh. Oh Boy. You shouldn’t have done that. You should not have done that. Yuki’s eyes flared with anger. “You see, there’s another Sticker right under the first.” Yukimaru was yelling now. The rest of the restaurant was now silent and watching the spectacle. A few of the servers had already taken out their phones and started recording. They knew Yuki; they knew what was coming. “THAT one says that we have the right to refuse service to anyone. And As the FUCKING. OWNER. I say.” His anger reached the boiling point. “GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY RESTRAUNT.” His hands gripped the underside of the table, and with all his might he flipped it, sending the few glasses that remained shattering on the floor. He was at least considerate to flip the table towards the dead section with no people in it, but the table ended up crashing into another table and sent the chairs falling. But Yukimaru wasn’t finished. He walked forward and grabbed the man by the collar, lifting the man off the floor. For those who didn’t know Yuki’s strength, the feat in itself would be shocking. He walked him over to the front door, using his foot to push it open. Yukimaru let out a deep breath, letting the anger leave his body. After looking up, he finally realized that the entire restaurant was staring at him. The other servers were now turning off their cameras and giving him the thumbs up. “Umm…. Sorry.” He stuttered, His hand casually scratching the back of his head. He wasn’t used to loosing control like that. Yuki felt great, he always wanted to do that, but another part of him had regret, thinking there might have been a better option. He raised his thumb and pointed to the door behind him, that was now being used by the racist man’s wife and son. “Racists.”“WOO!” Amanda called out, and began to clap and soon a good half of the restaurant followed suit, causing Yukimaru to blush as he continued to scratch his head nervously. “Oh right.” He said, walking up to the bar. “Alex, I need a dragon’s Passion, please and thanks.” The bartender, Alex, looked at Yuki with the biggest grin on his face and said, “you know this is going ALL over the Rosethorn group chat.” “Yeah yeah, just get me the drink. I’m sure my parents will bitch about it tonight. Or buy me dinner, they’re never predictable with these things….”Yuki grabbed the drink and walked back over to Malika, “Sorry about that, Here’s your drink. This one’s on the house.”
