Oh Honey I’m gonna make your life so sweet ❤ It was finally Friday night. Kel had been awaiting tonight for the entire week, and was more than ready to see what the night had in store for her. She had made plans to meet Orion at her store, and they would get some dinner from there. On that note, Kel looked at the little nutrition patch she had on her arm and frowned. She really did need to eat a more balanced diet. Oh well. She had spent almost a half hour getting ready to go out. She didn’t want to look trashy, she knew she had to be able to move, but she also wanted to look semi good. In true Kel fashion, she chose a cute outfit over one that most of the girls she saw at the clubs would be wearing. She thought the crop top was a little sassy, but it was her signature shade of ink and went perfectly with the flats she was gonna wear. She was tempted to wear her sneakers, but with these adorable tights she needed something equally cute. Plus the crop top would show off the little belly button piercing she had. Not many people got to see it, so it was apparent Kel was at least trying a little with Orion. Mainly she was excited to see him try to dance. So thus, on this summer night with the sun just starting to set and the night sky settling into its familiar pattern Kel arrived at the front of her shop, and checked her Holopad. Smiling she sent a message letting Orion know she was here. Hey, I’m in my shop, the door is open so come on in when you are ready. It was about twenty minutes to eight, so she was early. It was always better to be early than it was to be late. She grinned as she started sweeping up the shop. She might as well be productive while she waited right? Of course, whenever she swept, especially if the shop was empty, Kel would pump up some songs and dance. It made cleaning that much more fun. If Orion was to come in, he would come into the sight of Kel most likely doing a body roll, using the broom as a partner. This would only be the start of the dancing Kel would be doing. Can Orion handle it? -tag:@orion #words:397 - notes: Lets start this date off right! - muse: Horse to Water by Tall Heights MADE BY VEL OF GS + WW

Darn you and your Polyvore temptations. xD Preparing for this date was one of the more difficult things he could recall doing. He had never gone dancing before, so what was he supposed to wear? From what he had seen of other guys who did this sort of thing regularly, he needed to wear something lose and casual enough to be able to move, but not so casual as to seem like he wasn't taking this as the occasion it was meant to be. So... what? His hair would never lie down, but he'd done his best to make it at least seem orderly. Finally settling on a simple outfit that nonetheless concealed the weapons that he couldn't exactly hope he wouldn't need, he gave a last regretful glance to the sword that he had left hanging on the wall in his dorm. When he got to Kelri's sweet shop, he saw her from outside the window. She was beautiful, really, in an outfit that was halfway between sexy and functional. He could only stay there and watch for a few long moments, as she started to dance with the broom she had in hand. A smile pulled at his lips, and he pushed the door open and walked in. Only Kelri would be cleaning her shop while waiting for him to arrive. He felt a little exposed without his usual sword, but the guns and knife under his jacket and the Rune supplies on his belt would be enough to protect them if he ran into someone unfortunate. "You look... stunning," he said truthfully, smiling at her with soft ice-blue eyes. "You make me look like a slob. Ready to head out?"He wasn't sure if she had an assistant to watch the store when she was gone, or if she would need to close up before they left. From the research he had done about food in between here and the place they were going, he didn't think they would need to set aside too terribly much time for getting dinner, but he was a man who liked to use his time wisely. He couldn't afford to waste a lot of time in his day to day life, given how busy he was, and it was hard to adjust his thinking to a night of fun. Fortunately, he also had a very minimal social life, so he could afford to splurge a little tonight. BECAUSE NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. PHARAOH LEAP. Kel simply was what she was. She couldn’t change who she was, and she was excited to get to know Orion, especially through dancing. She hoped it would at least make the man a bit more chatty. If not, maybe he knew how to talk with his body instead of vocalizing. That would be interesting in the least. She generally was looking for a way to express herself and dancing was a perfect way to express this. Plus it would let her see Orion in a new way, one that wasn’t as a customer and a shopkeeper selling tasty treats to the hunter.
Kelri was dancing away in her shop. It wasn’t open to the public right now, she had closed a little early, she was just doing some chores before Orion got there. The dancing just made it all the more fun. She was caught up in the moment and didn’t really see when Orion came, and instead continued on with her broom partner. Kel knew how to have fun. As the door opened and the little bell dinged with the knowledge that someone came in, Kel turned and waved, finishing her dance with the broom as the song ended. Grinning towards Orion, Kel motioned him to come in and danced her way to where the broom was kept. Putting it away, she adjusted her skirt before turning back to her date with a smile.
Kel smirked and gave Orion a once over, making sure to let her gaze linger on certain areas. Mainly the arms and the fact that he didn’t have his huge sword on his back. Plus, he wasn’t wearing all black. Kel smirked once again and nodded. “You don’t look too bad yourself. Red definitely suits you. I’m surprised you ventured out without your sword though.” She grinned over at him and noted the holster. “Let’s see, two guns, andddd I’m guessing at least one knife on you somewhere.” She grinned looking him over trying to spot any other weapons. “For a minute I thought you were trusting me, any more hidden weapons I should know about?” If Orion were to look surprised that Kel had spotted his weapons, she would give a small smile and tilt her head up towards the lumbering hunter who she was taking on a date. “I was trained to spot concealed weapons. Overprotective dad and all.” She giggled, indicating that she was indeed teasing him. “At least you didn’t take the sword. That would have been hard to explain to Lenny at the club we are going to.” Yes, she knew the bouncer by name.
As the store was officially closed, Kel did not need anyone to watch over the store for her. “Of course I’m ready to head out. Are you?” She grinned over at the hunter as she slipped her card and id into the pocket of her skirt. Goodness, skirts with pockets really were one of the best things invented. She didn’t have to carry a purse, and she knew she still had her things. “Did you have anywhere you wanted to eat?” After locking up the door Kel waltzed right up to Orion and linked arms with him. “We totally need the snackage before we go dancing.” She smirked up at him. “Especially if we want to drink.”
Waiting for him to walk in the general direction Kel nodded up at him, generally pleased for Orion to have accepted this date. She hoped it would go well.

Awww, look at him trying to human.
He smirked at her comment about his sword, deciding not to mention how exposed he felt without it, especially somewhere like downtown Felici, where there always seemed to be one or two Magi hanging around. That wasn't good discussion material for a date. Deadly peril rarely was good for polite conversation. When she mentioned his concealed guns, he lifted and eyebrow for a second and then grinned. He hadn't really thought whether or not she would approve of him taking his weapons out on the date, but he was grateful that she didn't seem to take issue. And the fact that she'd noticed them on her own was fairly impressive.
"You're good, I'll admit it," he said, pulling his jacket back for a moment to reveal the holster and the guns inside. "I figured that you were dangerous enough that it might be good to take precautions."
He teased her with a smirk, settling his jacket back into place. The fact that she knew the bouncer's name was vaguely unsettling, considering the implications. Clearly, she did this sort of thing on a regular basis, wherein he had never attempted to go out dancing before in his life. What could possibly go wrong here? Oh... everything, really. He would never have described himself as an anxious person before this moment, but the nerves were beginning to ratchet upward. Was he already past the point where he should have admitted that he didn't know the first thing about dancing? Probably.
Oh, by the gods, why had he agreed to this?
He followed her out, admiring how the shirt she'd picked out left her lower back bare. The skin was pale and smooth, and some part of him wanted to reach out and touch it, to see if it was as soft as it looked, but that was probably too forward for this part of the date. Later, maybe. Dragging his thoughts off of that track, he tried to consider what she'd asked.
"I don't go to these parts much, to be honest," he admitted, glancing around the darkening area with a short sniff. "What kind of place are you in the mood for?"
The scents of the area were fairly normal, with no trace of Magi on the breeze. Even without his sword, his height was enough to get him noticed by hostile parties, especially in places where he had a reputation... A drink sounded amazing, if he was honest with himself. Whiskey, preferably. Not enough to get drunk, perhaps, but enough to settle his nerves. He hadn't been this nervous when he'd applied for the Hunter's Guild, and that had been infinitely more life threatening than going out on a date with a beautiful woman.

Kelri was almost certain her mention of his sword made him look at least a little bit uncomfortable. She wasn’t sure what t think, but hey, at least he didn’t look disgusted. She knew too many hunters who took their weapons everywhere. Quite frankly she also thought these people took themselves way too seriously. She was glad Orion at least looked like he could take a joke. More that her second eldest brother at least. Of course, having at least a knife was just simply being prepared. That much she was sure to expect from any hunter.
Kel gave a wink to the towering hunter. “Better than you know.” She smirked over at him as he revealed the holster and guns. “Smart move. Never know what my next action is going to be.” Grinning she tilted her head. “You are living life on the wild side now Sweet.”
Orion’s smirk was met with one of Kel’s own. She grinned and flexed her arms a little, stretching them out. If she was going to go dancing with this handsome man she better have a how prepared. Kel was ready to dance his socks off. That was if he was wearing socks, she couldn’t really tell, but he did look nice. Especially when he didn’t have a worried fretful look on his face. Kel was more than ready for dancing challenge this man would post. He did look pretty flexible after all.
Flexibility should count for something.
As Kel walked out she spun to face him, bending towards him a little, her little rose navel piercing dangling in front of her. Kel was more than happy, and was more than lost in the night air as she turned to face him. She loved her shop, but it really was good to get out of it once in awhile. Especially in a dancing trip. Maybe even a date?
Kel raised an eyebrow. “I suppose the guild keeps you busy enough then?” She sighed a little thinking about her brothers. They were always busy. “Anything? I don’t get out to eat very often, nutrient patches are a lifesaver, but I will eat just about anything.” She grinned before turning her head to look at the variety of restaurants. “Let's go wherever you want to. I am dragging you to a club you know.”
Kel grinned as she looked over the boardwalk. It was bustling with people, mostly couples actually who wanted to spend their Friday nights doing something fun. Chancing a glance at Orion, Kel looked over at the man. He seemed a bit stiff, though she wasn’t sure why. She smiled over at him kindly. “So what made you say yes?” Kel gave another smirk towards the taller man, “Or do I have to get you drunk before you loosen up first?”

Told you he talks.
Eyeing her rose belly button ring, he smiled, his expression slightly suggestive as he examined her midriff. Did she even know how sexy she was? Perhaps she did, and that's why she was acting like she was. She changed the subject, so maybe she didn't quite register it. He tried to keep his mind on the conversation, knowing that it would be rude to do otherwise, but damn it, he couldn't help that his mind wandered when she was so beautiful. Looking up at her face instead, he tilted his head with a slightly more innocent smile.
Nutrient patches... He never bothered with them. He was suspicious of the health fads that seemed to go in and out of style like clothing. No doubt someone would discover it wasn't healthy in ten or fifteen years. Besides, a nutrition patch did nothing to alleviate the ache of an empty belly, even if it gave people the nutrients they would have gained. He tried not to let his naturally curious mind wander down the rabbit trail of how they worked. It wasn't important, and he had to figure out a place where they could eat.
"Loosen up?" he echoed, lifting an eyebrow at her. "I don't loosen up, remember? Hunters don't know how to relax."
He was only partially joking, though even he couldn't have said what the percentage of joking to serious was. Certainly, Hunters were always on their guard, since Magi didn't exactly stop trying to kill them just because they said they were off duty. But he was still a man, and that meant that he had to take time to relax every now and again. Still, her question was a good one, and not one that he really knew how to answer. What had made him say yes? He'd been asking himself that question ever since he'd done it, since he didn't know the first thing about dancing.
"Why did I say yes..." he pondered out loud, tilting his head as he considered the question. "Beautiful as you are, I don't imagine that you get turned down often, Kelri. The real question is why you asked me in the first place."
He thought on the restaurants on the street, trying to figure out which would be the best to go to. The steakhouse had a pretty good bar, or so he had been told, even if it was a bit more formal than Orion would usually go for. Dressed as they were, they would fit in there fine. But the restaurant he chose would reflect how seriously he was taking this date, wouldn't it? Or was he just overthinking things?
"How do you feel about Jethro's Steakhouse?" he asked, glancing over at her.

Kelri could only smirk as Orion's gaze fell onto her. It seemed her outfit was working and she was more than okay with that. It wasn't that Kelri was trying per-se or that she really know what was happening, but she knew that the hunter seemed to like what he saw and she was okay with that.
Kel knew that nutrient patches weren’t really that good for her, but due to her workaholic nature, the baker wasn't able to properly get the vitamins she needed. So to her, nutrient patches were a godsend. Especially when she skipped meals so often. That wasn't when she was going on a date with a handsome hunter though. She planned to take full advantage of the meal that the two of them would be having. She could only hope that the hunter could keep up. Even though she was a girl, her brothers always complained she was the one with the bottomless stomach--not them. She smiled at the thought.
Kel smirked, looking over at Orion. “Yes, loosen up. You just look so stiff, all the time.”
Kelri smiled and tilted her head a little. “Lucky for you, I’m an expert in making hunters loosen up.” Cue the wink. Kel wasn’t even lying. She was good at getting her brothers to destress. Especially the twins. They were so damn stressed all the time. Her sweets were just the trick. “My secret? Sweets.” Kel grinned and giggled a bit. “Sweets always seem to loosen tongues at the very least. Plus sugar helps tense people to relax.”
Kelri grinned, knowing the question might throw a curveball to the hunter. She wondered what he would actually be like with alcohol. She could only hope that it would make him a little lighter on his toes, though he might just surprise her. He certainly had the swag that most hunters did. It was probably the confidence from carrying a huge sword around. Not that she knew much about swords. She only had partial training in guns, and a mix of Aikido and Judo. Kelri could take care of herself, even if it wasn’t apparent in her slight frame.
Kel smirked as he pondered the question. She really was curious as to the answer. That was, until he spun the question back on her. Giving a grin up to the hunter Kel smiled. “If I’m being honest, not many people have actually asked me out, or said yes when I asked them out, after they found out who my family was.” She gave a small chuckle. “Having a police chief dad and six brothers will do that.” Kel grinned and tilted her head over and up at Orion. “Thought I would take a chance on the handsome hunter who walked into my shop.”
She winked up at him before continuing on their walk. “The muscles certainly helped the cause too.” Hey, at least Kelri was honest.
Kelri grinned as she sniffed on the street. It all smelled good, though she knew she didn’t want fish. That would not be good for later. Nope. No fish for the girl tonight. Instead, she watched Orion try to choose the place. This would be fun no matter where they went, and Kel couldn’t wait. She was getting a little hungry, after all.
Kel gave Orion one of her signature dimpled smiles and nodded. “Sounds good! They always have wonderful food there.” Kel walked by Orion and looked over and up at him. “Shall we go?”

Let the drinking begin.
"Police chief, huh?" Orion mused, still smiling a little. "Yeah, I can see how that might scare some people off. Hopefully, it was just the ones that need be avoided anyway."
At the mention of his muscles, he blinked in surprise at her forwardness, and then chuckled a little. He liked her more and more, because he appreciated her forthrightness. It was refreshing in a city where there were so many women who seemed utterly in awe of a man who carried a weapon. Perhaps having Hunters as brothers had eliminated the possibility of her acting that way, but he was more inclined to think that it was having so many brothers in general that had made her that way. Or maybe she was just naturally brusque, which suited him just fine. He didn't like dealing with people that he had to tiptoe around, or who tiptoed around him. It was a waste of time and energy.
When she invited him to go in, he followed with that smile playing about his lips. The steakhouse itself was a little busy for his taste, looking at the parking lot, but he could hardly ask to go somewhere else when he'd been the one to suggest it. Walking up to the front door, he held the door open for Kelri before walking in behind her. He didn't get much attention upon walking in, which was a nice change of pace. Because of his height and his sword, he wasn't often overlooked.
It didn't take them as long as he'd thought to get to their seats, but the scent of the food had made him far more hungry than he'd been when he'd walked in. There was a Magi in this place, and he'd pinpointed the man within a few moments of walking in, because he was seated near a vent, but Orion was fairly certain that there wouldn't be trouble. The Magi, air by the smell of it, hadn't even turned around, didn't seem to register that there was a Hunter nearby. With any luck, that trend would continue. Orion himself couldn't spot any traits that would have outed the man as Magi. Perhaps no one had realized it.
Realizing he had zoned out on Kelri as he contemplated the Magi, Orion quickly looked down at his menu. The scent of beef and cheese was heavy on the air, and he was getting hungrier all the time. He quickly located something on the menu, and looked up as a waitress headed over. She gave him an appraising eye, which he didn't quite register as he looked over at Kelri.
"Can I start you with something to drink?" she asked, her tone just a little too warm for Orion's comfort.
"Sincom Irish Whiskey," he said. "On the rocks."
The waitress's eyes lingered on him for a second, and when he didn't say anything or look at her, she switched her gaze onto Kelri and took her in at a glance, her eyes lingering on the earrings and then at the lack of a wedding ring on her finger.
"And you?"

Kelri could only nod with a small smile at Orion semi agreeing with her. She shifted the strap that had fallen off of her shoulder, and looked up at her date. “Eh, danger just calls to me. Didn’t you figure that out yet?” Kel was very obviously joking with Orion and he should take it as such. “Sometimes though, I’m the one who scared people off.” Smirking she looked up her date. “Luckily I haven’t scared you off yet.”
Kel grinned as the man seemed a bit surprised at her being so... honest we will say. Kelri did try to be honest. She knew that she could come off as a little too extroverted sometimes but hey, at least that was who she was. She flashed a smile over to the towering hunk of a man. It was a relief when he chuckled at her antics and she tilted her head up to him. “At least I’m honest eh?” The cupcake of a woman smirked, thinking of the many times her brothers had been a bit crude. Granted they had all been raised better, but in her father’s words -boys will be boys and men will be men. She couldn’t judge them too harshly, and instead just called them out for it when they were too much. It was all she could do.
Kelri grinned as she saw Orion smile back at her. At least they were both mutually hungry. The steak really did smell good and she was excited to have some. Though maybe they should order some appetizers? That way it wasn’t a full dinner that they would be dancing on. Instead they could only get more drunk as the night went on. That would most certainly end in a good idea. Right? Kelri smiled as they walked in and waited to be sat. This would go well, right?
The scent of heavenly food floated through the restaurant and Kel knew that this was a major selling factor for the people who could smell the deliciousness from outside. It wouldn’t take them very long to get seated, and as Kel pulled out the chair she shifted her skirt underneath her to make sure that her thighs wouldn’t stick on the chair when she tried to get up. That was guaranteed to be one of the worst feelings that people who wore skirts would experience. She would smile as the host would make sure that they were comfortable and wait for their waitress to show up.
Kelri would watch as Orion seemed to zone out, disregarding anything she said. She had been only thinking aloud as to what she wanted to get. The menu was quite extensive for a steakhouse, but honestly, if you went to a steakhouse you should probably get steak. Kel knew she had enough to pay for her own share, she knew what she was getting. That and a marshmallowy goodness sweet potato, for even the sweetest of people needed a little extra sweetness in their life. She smiled as the waitress approach and was going to talk when she noticed the look that the waitress was giving Orion.
Smirking Kel shrugged looking over at the waitress with that same look. Hey she could appreciate her own sex. Especially in shorts that short. Were they degrading to the females who worked here? Probably? Were they still candy for luscious well-toned legs? Yes. Kel wasn’t putting up too much of a fight. She could appreciate a good pair of legs as well as anyone else.
Kel grinned as Orion was looked over and asked what he wanted to drink in an almost sultry tone. Oh wow, this waitress was good. Smirking she took the time to think on what it was that she wanted herself. Tequila would get her drunk way too fast. Maybe some good old Jameson? That would definitely do the trick.
Patiently Kelri awaited her turn to order. She smiled as the waitress turned to her, asking what she would like. “I’m glad you asked.” Kelri would then wink at the waitress and make sure she knew that she was giving her a once over. It would be very clear that Kelri was checking out the waitress. “As much as I love what I see in front of me, I do need to order and actual drink don’t I?"
Taking a moment to fake think, let her eyes drift over the waitress’s long legs, Kelri would turn back to face Orion and wink. “I think lovely lady, I will have Jameson and Ginger.” Kelri grinned before looking towards Orion. “After all we are going dancing later , and I have to show him whose boss at it.” She giggled before looking at the waitress again. “I’m lucky to have such a handsome dance partner don’t you think? I’m surprised he even agreed to go out with me on a date."
And there it was. The D-word drop. It should be enough to dissuade the waitress from further pursuing the subject, but if she did, she would find that Kelri had no hesitation in flirting with girls just as well as guys. Oh she was sure Orion would be just a smidge confused, but hey, at least she was entertaining. Besides, Kel had never met a guy who hadn’t liked that she had flirted with other girls. Especially if they knew it was harmless flirting.
She promises it is all in good fun Orion. Really.

Awwwwkward.
The waitress laughed while Orion gave Kelri a wry look. He didn't know why she was hitting on the waitress right in front of him, and he was trying not to be bothered by it. Was she trying to make him jealous or something? Or did she really just flirt with everyone she met? The thought was mildly unsettling, knowing as little as he really did about her. Was she one of those people who didn't care how many people they dated at once? Orion had never been one of those people. He could really only be comfortable pursuing one person at a time. Still, he said nothing, not sure how to feel about it. When Kelri winked at him, he blushed and looked away, clenching his jaw.
When the waitress finally trotted off to get their drinks, he turned his attention to the menu. He was starving, and he tended to eat a lot of protein to support his work-out schedule. Perhaps it was best to get an entree and an appetizer, just to be sure that he had enough food to fill up. Fortunately, at a steakhouse, just about everything was filled with meat and cheese. He was still contemplating the menu when the waitress came back with the drinks, and he felt a wave of relief. Thank Kalidas... the booze was here. He took a small sip before putting the tumbler back on the table. The liquid burned a track down his throat, and he smiled at the hint of honey in the flavor.
"Are you two ready to order, or do you need more time?" the waitress asked, winking at Kelri with a smile.
There wasn't much amusement in Orion's expression as he put his menu down, but he kept his expression carefully neutral. He didn't want to be in a bad mood, but she had put him in somewhat of an awkward position. If it had been a man hitting on her, he could have knocked him out. But it was a woman. And Orion didn't hit women unless they were armed. So that meant he got to watch a stranger flirt with his date, and he had no recourse. Great.
"I'll get a plate of barbecued chicken wings for the appetizer," Orion answered, glancing up at the waitress for a moment. "And the steak special. Medium well."
The waitress didn't seem to register anything off about his tone, but pulled out her notebook and wrote down his order with professional speed. With that done, she turned her attention back to the flirty young woman.

Sweet talkin' lady, love how you entice. Sugar, with just the right amount of spice
| ◀ | [attr="class","PrettyInPink"]
Kelri grinned as she conversed with the waitress. It always paid to be sweet to people, especially when they were ogling her dates. She much rather make them sweet on her, then have to get into a fight over something little like a comment. Besides, it was much better to be nicer to people, rather than be off standish.Flirting was an art that kelri knew she was good at, and with women it was incredibly subtle, unless she was doing it in self defense, as was the case now. Giving a slight grin towards Orion, she finished her conversation with the waitress not pushing it any further. The blush on Orion’s face was sweet enough for her. Besides, he looked incredibly cute when he was flushed.
She put on a smile as she watched Orion pick up the menu and seem to study it. Smiling she peeked at him from behind her own menu, wondering if he would make eye contact any time soon. Kelri gave a shy smile towards him as she watched him scan the menu. If it was a steakhouse she was sure that she would be getting steak, but she wasn’t sure about an appetizer. She knew she was definitely hungry, she had worked a long day after all, but it was important to consider her date first. She would see what he wanted before she would order for herself. And in no time at all the drinks were here. Kelri thanked the waitress, and smiled as both she and Orion seemed to have the same thought. Boooooooooze.
Kelri had just finished taking a sip of her drink before the waitress turned and winked at her. She had seemed to like the attention, but Kelri had also noticed that Orion well, to be blunt, hadn’t. She gave a small smile and shook her head before motioning for Orion to order first. The smell of a passing plate of cheese fries solidified her want for them. They may not be the most nutritious, but they would certainly be delicious.
Kelri smiled as she watched Orion get ready to order, setting the menu down and speaking to the waitress. Goodness he was handsome she set her head on her hands leaning towards him watching as he spoke to the waitress. She took another sip of her drink as he did and flipped her hair back a little.
After he ordered Kelri looked towards the waitress with a dreamy sigh. " A man after my own heart.” She grinned. “Can I get an order of cheese fries for the appetizer, and the steak special as well?” She tilted her head a bit and looked over towards the waitress. “Medium rare please and thank you.” Kelri smiled as the waitress nodded at her order and wrote it down. “I’m lucky I’m on a date with a man who will eat as much as I will.” She let out a little giggle as the waitress smiled and walked away from the table.
Turning towards her date she gave him a grin. “Thank you for agreeing to come out with me tonight. I’m excited to dance off all the calories I will consume tonight." She laughed before readjusting her necklace. “I’m sorry if I offended you before.” She gave a small shy smile to the man across the table. “I find it is easier to... oh what’s the word...” She tilted her head in thought and snapped her fingers when the word came to her. “Redirect attention.” She winked at Orion. “I was only flirting with her so she wouldn’t flirt with you.” Kelri is quite honest when it comes to these sorts of things, and believe in communications. “I didn’t mean to make you angry or anything, just wanted to establish that you were my date.”
At this Kelri would blush a smidge before shaking her head and hiding a bit behind her hands. "I...hope that's okay." Now it was her turn to be embarrassed.

Introducing... generic dating small-talk.
Orion blinked at her in confusion, completely nonplussed. She'd been flirting with the waitress to get her to stop flirting with him? That didn't make much sense to him, but then he would never try to argue that he understood how the female mind worked. Maybe it was an effective tactic in Kelri's experience? In his, ignoring the person who was flirting was a tactic that would work only about half the time. The other half of the time, it seemed to encourage the flirter to try harder, which got increasingly irritating as it progressed. Perhaps her tactic had a better rate of success than his? From the way the waitress was acting, he wasn't certain it was entirely wise.
Shaking his head to clear it of the circular thoughts running through it, he cleared his throat and took another sip of his whiskey, buying time before he had to say anything. She had a distinct talent for rendering him speechless, but somehow he enjoyed it. Most people were some kind of predictable, and yet with Kelri it seemed there was a surprise every moment. He wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to say, even as he opened his mouth.
"No, I..." he said, putting the glass back down. "You... took me off-guard is all. It was the last thing I was expecting. Not sure I'd ever dare to try it on a date. I'd probably get myself stabbed with a fork or something."
He flashed her a small smile at that, running his thumb along the outside of his glass to wipe some of the condensation away. He wasn't entirely sure why he'd reacted so strongly to her actions. Hopefully, he hadn't hurt her feelings or embarrassed her. He didn't get a whole lot of practice in the dating game, after all, so he felt a bit lost and off-balance already. The curveballs she kept throwing him didn't really help, but it was oddly endearing. He needed someone to challenge him and his expectations, and she seemed more than capable of it.
"So, tell me about yourself," he said. "Did you grow up in Felici?"
The appetizers came out before long, and he ate his chicken wings as they talked, using a napkin to clear his fingers of sauce as he went along. They were a little bit too spicy for his preference, but not unbearably so.

Kelri knew her tactic was a little unorthodox, but she also knew that it was a much nicer way of getting attention off of someone she didn’t want it on.Kelri was much more likely to redirect the attention to herself to negate any negative emotions that the other person could do. If they got a little handsy? Kel’s unarmed combat skill came in handy. She knew how to defend herself, and would never let a situation escalate from good harmless fun.
With that being said, she didn’t often go on actual dates. Kel’s love life was more of a ‘Oh hey, you look pretty and your flexible, we should hook up maybe.’ the girl knew that she wasn’t exactly traditional with dating and having a relationship in general. Most of that was a fear of what her family would say. For one thing, it was almost impossible that Kel would bring home a girl. Like ever. That just wasn’t a thing that the Anderson family would ever want in public. For another, the extensive amount of background checks and character checks that any potential suitor would have to go through would be daunting even to someone who was open to Kelri’s family name. Thus she didn’t go on many dates.
She smiled over at the man sitting across from her. “Not gonna lie, I don’t go on dates very often, so it probably should have gotten me stabbed with a fork.” She smirked and looked over at her date. “Can you blame me if I’m a bit... protective?”
At least she was honest. Kelri wasn’t afraid of really offending Orion, though it wasn’t her intention. She was more worried about giving him the wrong impression. Yes she was still interested, and she hadn't meant for him to think that she wasn’t interested. She smirked and offered her hand out. “If you want to stab me, go ahead” The woman wouldn’t hold it against him, in fact she was curious to see what he would do. Smirking she tilted her head and nodded, giving affirmation it would be okay.
At the question Kelri would nod. “Yes. I’m the youngest of six brothers and one sister.” She gave him a pitying grin, knowing what would be in store if she ever introduced him to her family. “My mom was born to a family of high status, and was a runic professor. Now my sister is.” She nodded noting that her mother’s side had always been aligned with the runic university. “My dad was chief of police , and many of my brothers have followed, and have gone into some sort of government work.” She grinned and sighed. Why did the men in her life insist on being dangerous? “And some of them chose the hunter route.” She supposed that they had so they could kill magi for no reason. They claimed that it was for the protection of the human race. Kel thought it was bullshit. “Jasper and Fletcher, those are the two that are in the hunter’s guild.” She nodded thinking about the two who always seemed to disappear. “I hope the god of the hunt appreciates their devotion.” And devoted they were. She shook her head slightly, offering the man a small smile. “I just worry sometimes.”
Kel grinned as the appetizers came out and the small talk ensued in the span of them eating. The woman grinned as the meal came soon after. This particular restaurant was known for their steaks and they did not disappoint. It was well worth the bill that would come at the end of the dinner. Kelri would insist on paying her share, and would offer her hand to Orion as they made their way out of the restaurant. By now it was later at night and the clubs were just starting to open.
"Aren't the stars pretty?" Kel asked as she nuzzled closer into the young man's arm. The night sky was adorned with the stars, and they were shining quite brightly tonight. As they approached the club Kelri gave a small smile before waving at Lenny and walking in. The party had already started, and the DJ had some pop playing on the sound system. Making sure she didn’t lose Orion Kel made her way over to the bar and smirked up at Orion before addressing the bartender. “Hey Maddi, keep my stuff behind the bar like usual?” She grinned and motioned up to the man standing behind her. “I brought a friend!” She smirked before raising an eyebrow. After getting the affirmation that Maddi would hold their stuff Kel spun on her heels to face Orion. “So am I gonna have to buy you another drink to get you to dance, or do you think you are ready?” Cue the smirk and twinkling eyes.
It was time for the main event of the evening.

The poor man.
The food was excellent, though the bill was too steep for him to go there more than every once in a while. Most of the money he lived on came through his Hunter's Guild contacts, despite the fact that he was given an adequate stipend from the University to pay for his expenses. He had been planning to pay for Kelri's meal as well, but she wouldn't let him. She was stubborn, and he liked that about her, though he did kinda wish she would have let him do that one nice thing for her. His father was very old fashioned, and would have given him an earful if he found out that Orion had let the girl pay for her own meal on a date. He put the thought behind him as they eventually left the restaurant and headed toward the dance club.
He was beginning to wish that he'd not eaten so much, because he was getting more and more nervous as he contemplated what was coming next. He didn't have the first idea how to dance, and regardless of how coordinated he was on the battlefield, he was convinced he was going to make an idiot of himself. The easy conversation that had started at the restaurant subsided as they walked, mostly because of his rising anxiety. At least she was letting him hold her hand... That was really the only thing that was keeping him from trying to come up with some excuse to stop. Her hands were warm, but her hands were covered with the calluses that spoke of hard work. He respected that.
She nuzzled into his arm, and he smiled at her, murmuring an agreement. He hadn't really been looking much at the stars, but she was definitely beautiful. He had been born and raised in Dagos, where the city lights tended to block out the starlight, and Felici wasn't usually much different. Most of the visible ones were actually planets or satellites, but he was beyond caring. The brief moment of happiness was dispelled instantly when the arrived at the club.
"Uhhh..." he stammered, looking a little alarmed as she addressed him.
She clearly came here often, considering that she knew everyone on staff by name, and they knew what she liked to drink. He had no doubt that she was probably a great dancer, whereas he didn't even know the basics. He would probably make an idiot of himself. No doubt he needed a lot more alcohol for this.
"Is this a bad time to mention that I don't know how?" he asked her, his cheeks reddening.

| ◀ | [attr="class","PrettyInPink"] Kelri had also enjoyed the walk that had taken place after they had finished their dinner, though it seemed that Orion had once again gone quiet. For some reason or another that kelri wasn’t aware of he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. It was an interesting position to be in, and she did try to keep a conversation. Mostly she was met with nonverbal agreements of disagreements. She smiled up at him anyway. Just because he was quiet didn’t mean that she was willing to give up on her dance partner so easily. She was however, quite happy when he actually started holding her hand. Goodness she hadn’t done this in a long time, an actual date? With hand holding? Normal Kelri dates started with dancing and ended in fun times. This was not normal. That didn’t mean she wasn’t enjoying it though.
The night was a little chilly, but it overall wasn’t that bad when you have a six foot five inched man to warm you up a little. Hence the arm grab. It was nice to see the starry sky intertwine with the lights in the city skyline. It wasn’t often that people took the time to look at the stars that were hidden by the lights that peppered the city.
She smirked as they approached the club and knew she was in her element. It would be a fun night, one way or another. She raised an eyebrow as he looked a little alarmed and seemed to be questioning the validity of this date. “Well?” The question would resound as she waited for him to finish his thought.
Kelri really did like the club here. The bouncer’s didn’t tolerate any malarkey, and the bartenders were always respectful. She also liked most of the djs who played. She was having a fun time nonetheless.
Kelri ended up raising both eyebrows as he said he didn’t know how to dance. “What? You don’t know how to dance?” She giggled before shaking her head and offering her hands to him. “Everyone knows how to dance. It’s all about movement and letting the music flow through you.” She had to raise her voice a bit as the music had just switched to a loud popish style sound. “Besides, I’m curious to see where you are.” She nodded over to the bartender and ordered a shot of tequila for herself and a car bomb for her date. “If you don’t know how to dance we will just have to get it out of you with the booze.” This would certainly be fun. She hadn’t drank tequila in a while, so they would see where the night went.
