Cry The Air Mage [attr="class","derm"] TAG: Valkorion NOTES: Job opening for Valkorion WORDS: 348 [newclass=.derm]background-image:url(https://s12.postimg.org/4v94hal9p/image.png);color:transparent;height:450px;width:150px;opacity:.9;overflow:hidden;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;[/newclass] [newclass=.derm:hover]height:450px;opacity:.6;overflow:auto;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;color:white;[/newclass] The thing about circumstances is that they never seem to favor you the most when you break the laws of society, crime merits suspicion, pursuit, capture and execution. The world used to be united under one single flag and all it takes to burn it down was light a match and everything simply just falls apart.
We are cyborgs, created to become the cogwheels that make society function without difficulty, if neither a mage or a human may perform such dangerous tasks, it is up to us to accomplish what they could not.
There was a job opening which involves the assassination of one of the Dons in Dagos who leads an operation on Magi trafficking. The client of course was a Magi themselves, her name is Cry and she’s currently looking for help. It was hard trying to choose the right person for the task as she only wanted her fellow magi free from the evil don’s grasp. This is something she cannot do alone so she went into the underworld to form a party. Of course this wasn’t posted up on the board. There’s a certain place in Dagos which allows one to simply rent a room for clients, if the room is occupied by a client, it means there’s a job waiting for mercenaries, it was a way to disclose the job details only towards the mercenary who’s willing to accept the terms.
Course it’s really not a perfect system as a lot of people could take advantage of it but nevertheless it was the only chance Cry has. Cry is an Air mage and wishes to speak to anyone who isn’t affiliated with the government whatsoever or rather yet has any connections to the Don.
OF course should they be part of the government, the captive magi the don holds would be taken to the higher bodies of political authorities instead or worse, the Hunters. Cry sat by the table, her blue skin revealed before the light of the room as she waits patiently for the mercenary willing to carry out the job.

Valkorion checked the small slip of paper in his hands for what could have been the tenth or eleventh time in almost as many minutes. The object in question was a hastily written note detailing a job opening of sorts open in the tavern. It didn’t give any specifics on the details beyond the fact that they would be explained upon meeting the client. The original owner had been on the way to meet this person, or persons, when he ran afoul of Valkorion. All the android had wanted was a few directions to the nearest casino so that he might try his luck for a few moments. The man responded with the words “Piss off, kid, I’m busy.” Of course, Valkorion took offense to that and told the man as much. Then, the fight broke out and it went in a much different direction than the man anticipated. Now, he was bleeding out in a dark alleyway with nothing but the pair of pistols he carried on his person and an empty wallet.
Valkorion looked at the paper once more before finally proceeding inside. The tavern was as one would expect it to be. Hard men with dangerous faces mingled around a bar at the back of the building while others huddled over one of the many tables dotting the space. Some of the patrons were beset with loose-looking women looking for a little company of the pleasurable variety. There were a few drunkards that appeared to have had more drink than their constitution could handle passed out on the floor where they were left. A set of stairs leading to a collection of rooms stood to the right with a helpful holographic display denoting which rooms where occupied and which were not on the wall next to the first step.
With his destination at last in sight, Valkorion ascended the staircase after taking a moment to note the room specified by the note. He opened the door without a knock, let himself in, and sat at the table where a blue-skinned magi (and how could it be anything else but a magi?). “So you are the one that put out the request. I must say that this appears to have the makings of an interesting mission.”

Cry The Air Mage [attr="class","derm"] TAG: Valkorion NOTES: For the next post, you shall orchestrate when, where and how you will get the jump on the Don and will be in charge of narrating it. I will play as the NPCs, you narrate and I'll follow. Simple exercise just to develop a bit of feel about Valkorion performing this task. WORDS: 290 [newclass=.derm]background-image:url(https://s12.postimg.org/4v94hal9p/image.png);color:transparent;height:450px;width:150px;opacity:.9;overflow:hidden;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;[/newclass] [newclass=.derm:hover]height:450px;opacity:.6;overflow:auto;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;color:white;[/newclass] Finally, someone has answered her call. She didn’t expect that the response would have been this quick, it’s only been about an hour, but today luck was on her side. Cry had Valkorion come in and so he sat with her by the table, her eyes would meet with his. As it stands, a cyborg answered her call, it was better than no one and in fact she did heard that cyborgs proved to be able fighters than humans, she only prays that Valkorion doesn’t have any strange connections that she may not like.
“Yes, If you’re up to it…” Cry removed her hood, allowing Valkorion to see the blue beauty that is… “Cry is my name” she stated. “You may have heard of a particular don that has been hoarding mages to do his bidding, he got my friends and my family captive and forced them to do labor they aren't capable of doing” she whimpered, funny how her expression matched her name.
“Do whatever it takes to free those magi and when you do, eliminate the Don who heads the operation, your rewards will be whatever you managed to find there as well as the gratitude of us magi.” She passed Valkorion a folder, the Don was supposedly rich due to illegal operations and slavery of magi, selling out their body parts for a high price and to do manual labor for him. There was no instruction given how Valkorion will carry out this mission, the only thing given to him was information and the state of the organization holding these magi captive. It all leaves to how, where and when he will strike.
“P-please…. Bring them back to me and make him pay for what he’s done.”

Valkorion arched an appreciative eyebrow when Cry fully revealed her face to him. She was quite the looker this one and the blue skin added an exotic quality to her that did nothing but augment her beauty. Even when she took on the very same emotion for which she was named she was still attractive to him. He smiled reassuringly as the woman explained her plight. While he wasn’t at all opposed to the idea of capturing magi for profit, the fact that their lives were being wasted so carelessly sat ill with him; at least find tasks that your assets are capable of completing. “You needn’t worry Cry. Your friends and family will be saved and this don of yours will face judgement.” The android smiled as he stood, giving a polite bow of the head before leaving. There were plans that needed laying, information in need of gathering, and traps to be set. Killing a don would be no small task, but Valkorion was sure of his ability to complete it. Several Weeks Later
In the hours following his meeting with Cry, Valkorion set to work. His first objective was to find someone with a greater understanding of the don’s operations and pry him for information. The man in question had barely been any larger than a minor player in the larger game, but an operative in charge of acquiring magi for sale could be useful. It wasn’t much of an issue to bait the man into attempting to capture him by posing as his preferred prey and even less so convincing him to divulge everything that he knew of the don’s workings; the torture helped. When his first target revealed the name of his employer—a man by the name of Alexander Romani and a member of the don’s inner circle—Valkorion decided that he’d outlived his usefulness and disposed of him within a rival gang’s territory. The resulting turf war gave him the opening he required to infiltrate the ranks of Alexander’s personal guard as a mercenary for hire. Over the next few days, Valkorion fostered the old man’s need to teach the rivals a lesson that wouldn’t soon before gotten while simultaneously making himself an indispensable asset. He slowly worked his way into a position as the man’s right hand. Afterwards, it was a simple matter to arrange an “accident” for the elderly fool that saw Valkorion rise to his position. Now, he was in a perfect position from which he could orchestrate the perfect rescue, for there was to be a meeting between the don, his closest subordinates, and a selection of their guards. Valkorion would not be attending that particular function; at least, not in the expected fashion. Instead, he would be stationed a good distance away with bow in hand and a quiver of arrows to his side. Twelve of them (one for each of the target’s inner circle) were simple things constructed for the simple purpose of killing. Each of them were dipped in a neurotoxin that would stop a human heart in moments. A separate arrow was reserved especially for the don himself; it would deploy a net upon entering a certain range of its target. Valkorion used his enhanced eyes to focus in on the group through a window in the rundown warehouse chosen for the meeting, sighted down the shaft of a toxin-coated arrow, and sent the projectile down range. He followed the shaft closely with second, and a third, and a fourth, until he finally came to the net arrow and sent it sailing after its fellows.

It saw everything especially the way Valkorion fought off the rival gangs that threaten the Don’s territory. Now the drone would have fled as soon as the gang war between crime families concluded, along with it was information that caught her eyes. “Interesting…”
Of course Valkorion presented himself as an upstart to the Romani family, some of the Don’s made men grew suspicious of his actions and decided to keep a close eye on him. The first few shots fired at the inner circle landed their marks but the Don himself has yet to be assassinated, Valkorion was spotted by some of the Don’s men, drawing their small machine guns, they opened fire at him to where he’s at. They had yet to identify the shooter but once they get close enough, they will find out who it is and eliminate him to ensure Romani’s safety.
The Don was in panic, one of the men in his circle shut off the lights in hopes the shooter would lose sight of the targets. Gunshots were fired and now the entire Romani family was on full alert, it was time to evacuate the Don, shame that the only men capable of successfully protecting Alexander were the first ones to go down. There were only 2 parties guarding the meeting, though this wouldn’t be much of a problem, if the Don escapes and tries to contact Valkorion, his cover be blown.
Meanwhile, watching the entire thing was Cry from a distance hoping and praying that her brethren be safe and Valkorion’s sucess. The Don believed that the assassin could have been the same one that had killed the man in charge of shipping off magi to different places. A firefight in the abandoned warehouse began, the Don’s clients fled to safety, Alexander went deeper into the building, away from the windows as he sees one of his men struck with an arrow that had slid down the stairs. The car was the only option but misfortune struck only to realize that the tires of their escape vehicle had been torn flat. Who could be doing this? Anyone dare make a mockery of Romani?
Romani’s client and his party fled by boat and sailed off while the firefight was still going on but as soon as they made it out of the docks, the boat exploded, incinerating the captain’s deck and the passenger’s seat altogether. An incendiary bomb was planted on that boat and as it sank, so did the remains of the don’s client.

It took little time for Valkorion to notice that there were some on his former employer’s payroll that were not quite as inept as he’d hoped. A plan had obviously been in place to prevent the don from being slain and the defenders appeared to have something in the way of forewarning. It wouldn’t matter in the end. He already knew enough about the inner workings of the organization to publicize some very damning evidence that would bring the authorities down upon it. On top of that, the various other families would be scrambling to fill the power vacuum left in this assault’s wake.
Still, his position was exposed now, and fighting a group of machinegun-toting thugs was an unacceptable waste of his time. They were unimportant. Valkorion slung his personal quiver across his back and selected an arrow when it was secured. He nocked the projectile and let fly. The shaft flew true upon its path towards the asphalt. The android shielded his eyes the shaft struck the ground, shattering it and igniting a chemical reaction that induced a blinding flash of light.
Valkorion made for the door that had granted him access to the rooftop but stopped when he heard a detonation from the direction of the waterfront. It seemed that a client had just met with an untimely, extremely violent demise. Interesting. His death hadn’t been part of the contract, thus Valkorion left him be. That meant that there was someone else here on this particular night. He filed that away for later use before continuing upon his path. There was a don that needed killing.

Cry A fate woven by tears of relief [attr="class","derm"] TAG: Valkorion NOTES: All yours, meeting starts soon WORDS: 282 [newclass=.derm]background-image:url(https://s12.postimg.org/4v94hal9p/image.png);color:transparent;height:450px;width:150px;opacity:.9;overflow:hidden;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;[/newclass] [newclass=.derm:hover]height:450px;opacity:.6;overflow:auto;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;color:white;[/newclass] “Objective complete” she stated as she stood from under the docks. She wore an eye patch and tapped into her communications to access the visual overlay. From above, blending in the night skies was a drone that oversees the entire area from above. Romani has yet to leave the warehouse but with the escape vehicle impaired, Romani couldn’t drive out of here so quickly but he still has a chance.
“Now then, time to greet him.”
The Don rallied whatever was left of his men and decided to head out of the warehouse. If Valkorion had fired from one side then the Don would have escaped through the other, using the old abandoned structure itself as visual obstruction while a party starts their pursuit for the assailant. However they aren’t so sure how many assailants are currently present right now, the explosion from the ship can be heard from here and it seems that Romani was set up.
“We need to call Valkorion now, tell him to leave the stronghold and come to my side immediately!” shouted the don as his men dialed up his cellphone to contact Valkorion. If picked up: “We’re dealing with multiple assailants, come to House E-4 immediately, our escape vehicle fell flat” said one of his men.
It would take some time for some of the human members of the organization to respond but they knew that Valkorion would arrive here faster. Indeed, only Valkorion can end this mess but not in the way Romani and his men would have hoped for.
Now the little air mage skips towards the industrial district to attend to a man that she wants dead. How will Valkorion do it?

Valkorion tapped a button on the earpiece he generally wore when he heard it chirping in his ear. “I’m already aware. I was just ambushed by one another set of thugs. Someone found us out and laid a trap. This whole thing was a set up from the start of it.” And it wasn’t exactly a lie either. Someone had indeed found the location of this particular meeting and he had just been attacked by a some of the don’s brutes. All things told, he was technically telling the nothing but the truth; he was just keeping some of the facts to himself.
“I’m already on my way to your location and should be there shortly. Keep Mr. Romani safe until I arrive.” Valkorion ended the call and made his way towards the warehouse in question. He gave the squad that troubled him a wide berth as he circled around to the other side of the building. A side door gave him access to the interior. The android searched the area thoroughly for his employer and, when he found him and his guards, drew an arrow with a yellow strip along it’s shaft.
“It’s good to see you safe, sir. We should hurry and relocate you to a safer location before our rival hear of this and get any foolish ideas in their heads.” He continued walking until he was within sight of every single man around the don. Then, he closed and averted his eyes before launching the arrow at his employer’s feet. After the flash abated, Valkorion sighted down each man within reach and let fly two arrows at a time into their chests. Alexander was the first to receive the treatment.

Cry was already making her way inside the area, and all the more she grew quiet upon hearing the man that had wronged her drew the sharpest breaths, the last he would ever take.
Romani was on the floor and things were pretty grim, tonight is the night that the Romani crime family falls with no heir to inherit the seat. Two arrows struck the don’s chest as Alexander would fall down to the floor and before his men could draw their weapons, it was too late.
“W-what’s the meaning of this?” The don was struggling through the pain, his eyes were bloodshot with anger, his hands shake, grabbing both arrows and trying to get the arrows off his chest. “C-curse you… Curse you, cyborg!” The don was putting all he can to standing up and running through the shipping yard, latching onto walls as he desperately makes his way. Valkorion was hasty in his attack but this caused his arrows to slightly deviate from the don’s heart but no doubt he’s suffering from internal bleeding.
Alexander fell down and decided to crawl only for his hand to meet the foot of the air magi. As Romani stared into the lifeless eyes of hers, he recognized who she was right away, the magi that had escaped him has come to get revenge on him. Romani was no more as he finally collapsed, he was no longer breathing nor was there any pulse. And the air magi simply just cried “Did I make the right decision in killing him?”
She was asking Valkorion’s opinion, although he was an accomplice; Cry was the one that killed the don. It would only be fair since the don had driven some of her people to their deaths but why didn’t she feel relieved to see Romani gone?

Valkorion followed Alexander as he made his pathetic attempt at an escape. He was careful to keep his distance from the man, lest he attempt something foolish that would force him to waste another arrow or two. When the man finally expired after glaring into the eyes of the one that had instigated this mess, Valkorion stopped and tilted his head questioningly.
“If you personally believed that he was worth killing, then that make you right in the end,” he said. “What does it matter now anyway? He’s dead and your friends and family should be safe to live their lives.” Valkorion knelt down to search the corpse of what up to that point been his employer. It was obvious that he was searching for something rather specific when one considered that he ignored the various expensive-looking rings and a golden watch. He even pulled the man’s wallet, fat with a several cards loaded with credits.
After several seconds of patting him down, he finally found the object of his search and held it in the light triumphantly. “Ahha, found you!” In his hand was a cellphone of high end quality. While the device itself was worth quite the substantial sum, the data locked within its internal memory was more valuable by a vast margin. It was almost guaranteed to contain information on the current whereabouts several of magi slated to be sold on the black market as well as the other useful information.
The android rose to his feet. “Alright, I believe that the time to free your relatives has come at last.”

She was grateful for Valkorion to have ended it all tonight. Word has not gone out that the Romani’s Don has already been slain and perhaps they could use this to their advantage. Of course if they did find out Valkorion killed Romani, Alexander’s men would avenge his death and will disband when they succeed which would give Valkorion some trouble if left unchecked. Whatever the outcome was, Cry had reunited with her brethren and decided to sail off to different shores, they have stolen a boat and refueled it so that they would reach Ikigai. It was only when the dawn breaks did Sileria revealed herself, leaning onto a wall with both hands behind her.
“So tell me something, if you were hired to do something that would cause disorder, are you willing to carry it out just for the sake of money?” Sileria had eyes on Valkorion the entire time from start to finish. She was unarmed as by means she didn’t show herself to fight him.

It hadn’t taken very long for them to locate Cry’s family and friends within the warehouse and even less time to free them all. After a brief exchange of familial love, Valkorion ushered his client and her family to the docks. There he found them a boat and convinced the owner to part ways with it before insuring his silence with an arrow to the back as he fled. It would’ve been easy for him to blame the sudden disappearance of a lone, elderly fisherman on the battle that had taken place here tonight.
Valkorion watched for a little over a minute as the magi and her family made their escape to ensure that the mission was complete. It was only when the vessel was little more than a shrinking dot on the horizon that he turned away towards the warehouse. His reward had been anything that the building contained. He tried not to ponder too long on the fact that he’d allowed the most valuable portion of his bounty to sail away into the rising sun.
His looting began with his former employer’s body. When the man was relieved of his jewelry and cash cards, Valkorion moved on to the next corpse and repeated the process. Eventually, the carrion tactics earned him a sizable pile of wealth that he began stuffing into a makeshift sack. He didn’t bother to turn when the voice of a woman sounded behind him; there most likely would’ve been a hole in the back of his head if they meant him harm.
“Unfortunately for some, money is what the world operates on,” he said. “If one does not possess the means to better their lot in life, they are doomed to live forever in squalor.” Valkorion turned to face his observer, the sack of stolen goods slung over his shoulder. “So the answer to your question is yes. I would gladly undertake a task to better my position. Even if the price for said task was the creation of chaos.”
He tilted his head inquisitively. “What would your price be, I wonder.”

Cry A fate woven by tears of relief [attr="class","derm"] TAG: Valkorion NOTES: Hence the reason for this thread WORDS: 274 [newclass=.derm]background-image:url(https://s12.postimg.org/4v94hal9p/image.png);color:transparent;height:450px;width:150px;opacity:.9;overflow:hidden;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;[/newclass] [newclass=.derm:hover]height:450px;opacity:.6;overflow:auto;-webkit-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s; -moz-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-ms-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;-o-transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;transition:height .8s ease, opacity 1.5s ease, overflow 1s ease .8s;color:white;[/newclass] “So you’re telling me that you’re willing to give yourself a problem to worry about in the future than prevent such means today just so that you can gain a benefit no matter how small or temporary it is. I expected that you’d think bigger.” Her shoulder shakes, chuckling off his answer.
“Money is the blood that flows through society and keeps its functioning, what you seek isn’t just money but the benefits it can give you. My words may probably bore you but I hope the next set of words will.” Just by his answer and his tone of voice, Valkorion sounds like a typical mercenary, with a pessimistic view of the world. Sileria tapped her feet and began walk towards him, staring him right into the eye.
“You are much likely to understand the consequences of loss and gain since you seek some kind of benefit and satisfaction. That much is respectable, so I’m here proposing that we team up, you’ll scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours. What do you say?” Sileria offered.
As of now it was obvious that the woman before him was a mercenary like him and is probably the one responsible for blowing up Romani’s client with an incendiary charge. It was quiet in the compound and though Valkorion may have eliminated Romani and the men protecting him, the one that eliminated the thugs that pursued valkorion could be no one else but her.
“I’m probably worth keeping as an ally, in this world you’re bound to create a lot of enemies, but it’s an occupation hazard. Therefore we should search ways to minimize that.” she answered.

Valkorion’s eyebrow rose an inch higher at the bionic woman’s proposal. Then, a smile creased its way across his features as he considered the benefits of having a fellow mercenary to work with, a partner in crime if you will. His shoulders began to shake gently in sympathy with the chuckle building in his chest. The chuckle slowly gained in volume until the android was laughing aloud as though it were the funniest thing in the world. Eventually, the fit of pure mirth subsided and his processors returned to the task of observing the world around his mechanical frame. He couldn’t fathom exactly why he’d gained such enjoyment from the request. Was it because the way in which she posed the question made it appear that she was demanding his cooperation? Maybe it was her attempt at a life lesson or the insinuation that he could possibly require her help. Who could say?
He found himself sizing the woman up as his defiant nature screamed for him to refuse simply because he could. He had his doubts that she could force him to do otherwise even if she wanted to; she was, after all, seemingly unarmed. The android forced that thought away and deleted it, suddenly finding his thoughts turn towards more accommodating waters.
“It would seem you’re a woman after my own heart, my dear,” Valkorion mused. “It’s true that this line of work will eventually lead me to make enemies, and it is also true that you might be a worthy ally.” He paused as though he were taking advantage of the quite to ponder the suggestion. Then, with a nod, he said, “Very well. You and I shall have an accord. You’ll scratch my back and I will, in turn, scratch yours.”
Valkorion offered his hand. “I suppose that we shall begin this partnership with a proper exchange of names. You may call me Valkorion.”
