| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US. Well some of them are walking. Others are hobbling, limping, crawling, or flailing helplessly while unable to get back up off their back.
Most Camlorn citizens are hiding indoors out of justified fear. The town's smaller police force are frantically attempting to protect their civilians. When this newest wave of undead entered the town, the rumors were proven to be true. In regards to where you are at the time the emergency sirens began blaring in response to the invasion, you find yourself next to two other people. Seems like surviving the current situation would be easier if you worked together.
OOC ☠ You may write for npc characters in this event. If you want to keep a lost child safe for instance to spice up your thread, you have permission.
☠ It is up to the first poster to set the scene. Are you outside running towards the siren to see how you can help? Are you inside a building trying to keep the swarm from entering and harming npc human civilians inside? etc etc, up to you.
☠ Each member is allowed 48 full hours to reply when it becomes their turn. After two days have past, the next person in line is allowed to respond.
☠ A staff member through out the event may post random occurrences to throw you guys a curve ball.
☠ The undead in this event can be categorized under the classification "roamer". Their souls have moved on and their brains are most likely decayed so there's no memory or basic logic that you can expect from these guys. If they hear sound in one direction, they will follow that lead. They do not use tools such as a rock to break a window, they will merely slam themselves against it. If there's a target on the other side of a broken bridge they will walk off the bridge until there's enough of a pile to possibly get across. (For the sake of the event, consider these to be a reoccurring spawn of sorts; the event will end when the staff post that all the bodies drop)
☠ If you get bit there is no spreading of zombie-ness. These undead are the work of a necromancer's magic, not a virus. They are entering from outside the town inwards, seeming to be searching for the one who summoned them. Cemeteries, morgues, the mass burial ground of magi from the nearest etc, The older an undead, the slower they move. For instance, a body of a recently deceased person from a hospital will be able to run while the body of a 187 year old corpse will be jauntily hobbling at best.

Of all the assignments Culan had to take this month, this one seemed to have caught his interest. Well it’s not that he volunteered for it this time, the Hunter Organization was a bit concerned about the strange events happening in Camlorn. Both Umbrage and Dullahan were sent to investigate but had failed to report back a few hours ago. According to the information they got, corpses suddenly began to rise and attack the citizens. It was believed that the cause of it was a Magi who possessed dark powers over the dead which is known as necromancy. And Culan thought Necromancers were just a myth, but with Magi around, anything can happen.
Culan and Aeon weren’t alone; they were accompanied by 5 squads in 5 military transports. Umbrage and Dullahan lead the advance teams, Culan and Aeon are those who will be bringing reinforcements if something were to go wrong. As much as possible the area must be cleared, once it’s cleared, the town of Camlorn shall be put under containment as the next wave of reinforcements will come later.
There are 6 sectors in Camlorn, Culan and Aeon’s objective is to take their squad and secure city hall while the 2 pairs of squads will go around the city in search for Dullahan and Umbrage and clear the area of all threats.
Culan clicked on the coms “Alright you know the drill boys, secure city hall, establish overwatch and clear the town while searching for Dullahan and Umbrage, understood? From this point on we’ll be in the deadzone, there will be no radio contact until we reach city hall, good luck squads.”
He grabbed Aeon’s shoulder and shook him a bit. “Scared? Cause I am.”
As the trucks were to move in, the two pairs of vehicles separate while one makes a beeline to city hall. The sheets were dropped and rifles were pointed outside to fire off lead at the undead.
What made this worse was that another truck was coming right at them.
“INCOMING!” Culan shouted as the transport was hit by the truck from the front. Soldiers and Hunters lost their balance, the driver was long gone and the horde seems to be coming up slowly, citizens were seen running around in panic or being devoured by the dead.
“Out of the truck let’s go!” Culan shouted as everyone in his party exited the van and engaged the undead.
“We’ll have to go by foot, plow through them!” Culan grabbed Aeon and looked at him right in the eye. “Listen to me, it’s imperative that the squad reaches the city hall, it’s a few blocks off, and you can’t miss it.” The City hall was just within their reach but a lot of obstacles were blocking their way, such as car wreckages, collapsed poles and fire in the streets. Culan dived right into battle and thrust his lance right at the heads of the undead; he’d pierce their bodies and swing them around.
“Go Aeon, the Router must reach City Hall!”

Well it was very well paid job, but it was dangerous one, which is probably why it was so well paid. If he didn't die he'd get a lot of cash. Aeon had made his way to camlorn with other hunters. Good, because there was no way he'd deal with freaking undead zombies on his own. He'd have liked it to be a prank of townspeople, but judging by the amount of people the Hunters had gathered for this mission that was highly unlikely. He could even smell it as soon as they got close to Camlorn the hideous smell of what he imagined were thousands of undead roaming the city. Great. He was yet again working with Culan, that in Aeon's opinion even though he was a flirt with the ladies managed to make a somewhat decent hunter. Really, why was he so interested in going on woman after woman? he did not understand, but he considered him kind of close to a friend... he guessed. He was glad he got reinforcement duty, not so glad when he heard they would be moving inside of Camlorn for search and rescue. He wasn't sure if he expected these undead to be like zombie skeleton or zombie body, but he was about to find out. A quick prayer was raised to ask Kalidas for protection, before they moved out. Culan would touch his shoulder and Aeon looked at him with slightly furrowed brows. "It'll be fine, Culan. We need to stick together and cover our backs." - he replied. Having to deal with a horde rotting undead was not his version of having a lucky day, but if he thought too much about the dangers he wouldn't be able to do the job. So for now, he'd follow his orders and do his best not to have his brain eaten by a zombie... or whatever these dead people would do to him. He took a deep breath, trying to keep himself calm. If worst came to worst he'd have to rely on the other hunters to help him. They were moving in the truck towards the city hall and as they got there Aeon took the chance to check on his ammo and other weapons. Little did he know, he had boarded the unlucky transport as they were fully slammed by a truck. He had barely a few seconds to grab onto his seat when he heard Culan's shout. What happened next could be described like the scene of a horror movie. Aeon had hit his head a little bit and rubbed his forehead while some of the hunters and soldiers left the safety of the transport. As soon as Aeon followed he watched the civilians running in all directions. He could see them and also smell them. Ugh, some of them smelled so terrible it was making him feel dizzy. To make matters worse the undead had already wrecked some obvious havoc around the town. He took a gun out of its holster and started to shoot, his aim was utter crap, so it only took a couple of shoots before he realized the gun would only help him if the shot was point black. Shit, this what happens when you get greedy. He could see the other hunters were doing so much better than him. Man, he was happy not to be on his own. Culan suddenly grabbed him almost giving him a heart attack (he thought he was goner lol). Aeon looked him back swallowing and gave him a nod. Though, he wasn't very convinced they would be able to get there. "Understood, captain. City Hall it is then." - he said looking at Culan while trying to look trustworthy, the other could probably see he was barely keeping himself together with all the chaos around them. His life was in the line here, if he reached the building they could block the entrances or manage something somehow. "Y-you can leave it to me." - He added with a forced smile, giving him a very shaky thumb up. His eyes glanced at the street filled with cars and varied dangers in their way. That's lovely.Aeon watched Culan dive right into battle and he started running with some of the other hunters through the street heading towards the City Hall. First obstacle a car set in flames Aeon and two hunters flanked it through the side as they defended themselves from the few undead on their way, it would seem these one weren't very smart so pushing one towards the fire and shooting at one in front of him cleared them out of his way. Only Zombie #1 was now chasing him on fire and Zombie #2 quickly got up with a cute bullet hole on her chest. Aeon struggled to reload, but he couldn't hold the cartridge steady while running. His luck be damned the other hunters seemed to be busy clearing their own paths. "Move ahead guys, to the City Hall!" - he yelled his eyes watering a little bit as he ran as fast as he could with his two new friends behind him. Come on, come on lady luck be on my side for once. Aeon started to run towards a fallen firefighters' truck trying his best to reach for an axe dropped by the side. If he managed to grab it, it would certainly be more helpful than the gun he had brought today. Kalidas, let me survive this. He stopped to scoop up the axe reaching with one hand to grab it quickly.

Hours earlier Today had started off so nicely. The fresh country air was proving to be an invigorating change in scenery in comparison to the confines of city life or the mundanity of rolling sand in the deserts back home. The people tended to know their place in the world and helped those that they could; some were even likeable. After spending the night with a rather lovely couple, Valkorion had been ready to continue onward to his destination in Felici. However, his plans changed as soon as the screaming began. Current time Valkorion looked to the streets below with an expression approaching grim acceptance. From his position atop what he guessed was the town hall gave him a bird’s eye view of most of the town. To say that the place was under siege was more than a bit of an understatement. Fires were blazing out of control through most of the buildings and the few that weren’t burning were bared tightly against the undead (for they could be nothing else at this point) or completely overrun with shambling corpses. Luckily, one of the first places that the android visited—and one that was currently ablaze—was a warehouse stocked to the brim with hunting supplies. The place had already been stripped bare of firearms and the ammunition thereof. They were, after all, the most effective and easily available, even in the hands of an untrained combatant. However, archery was a much less common skill and that fact played into Valkorion’s favor. Dozens of quivers filled with arrows surrounded his position. The chances of him running low on ammunition were slim. A loud crash drew his attention to the edge of town. Large groups of armed men and women were engaged with the undead. Typical that they would arrive so late to the party. Still, additional help would be beneficial. His arrow’s weren’t limited after all. He selected a target at random, knocked an arrow, and sent it sailing into a child-turned-cannibalistic corpse. It was time to start clearing the way for those soldiers. (OOC Notes: Sorry about the delay in posting.)

“God help the kid” Culan prayed as he drive his spear into the head of a zombie, impaling them and swinging their bodies around as if he enjoys playing with them. There is no way for them to coordinate and contact the others teams without the Router going up the city hall since all communications went down during the epidemic. As culan were to finish of the last zombies of the wave, he started walking to where he needs to be, looking out for his junior. Culan decided to go exploring, taking the scenic route to city hall only to discover the reason why there were no communications. The telecommunications dishes were knocked down by a truck that was infested with zombies. “So this is why…” Culan huffed as he twirled his spear to clean the block. With his sense of hearing, he can hear arrows fly and it wasn’t far. He turned to one corner only to see Aeon’s group coming closer to the Town Hall, plowing through the undead as an unknown shooter was providing support from a distance. Perhaps they were what remain of the advance team when Dullahan and Umbrage arrived here? Well either way, everyone is gonna need all the help they can get and city hall is the main objective for Culan’s team. Of course the Lancer was not in sight and would go by the means of taking the scenic route, clearing whatever corpses comes his way, a few pokes and they were already down. Though Culan doesn’t need to worry about ammo, it’s just that having to strike fiercely at enemies at mid-range is a bit taxing and would cost a lot of stamina. But Culan is capable enough to survive and meet the entire squad in the city hall. Whether Aeon’s team went first or he doesn’t matter much, he’d be glad to know that Aeon got the entire squad safe. Once communications are up, Culan will try to contact the shooter that had supported Aeon’s team. Aeon Marks Valkorion (Sorry guys, something came up, let's continue to take City Hall)

Valkorion continued granting fire support to the teams of soldiers whenever he deemed it necessary to hurry their progress along. They acquitted themselves well for grunts with guns if he was to be honest. One in particular showed a great deal of skill in the way that he employed his polearm. It was quite the sight when the android shifted his gaze in that area to watch his battle unfold. One occasion he was rather sure would end tragically for the blue-haired spearman, but his intuition proved wrong. Then, the man came to an area occupied by the shattered remains of communication arrays as well as a large group of walking corpses. Taking a moment to judge the other team heading for the city hall, Valkorion determined that they would do well enough on their own for a while longer and instead turned his attention to assisting the spearman in his endeavors to clear the communications array of hostiles. His optical enhancements zoomed his vision in until he could see the flesh sloughing of the dead in all its grotesque glory. The rotting one he ignored in favor of the fresher bodies that sprinted like wolves closing in for the kill; these were the most dangerous and therefore should be the first to fall. Valkorion calculated the distance and compensated for the windage and drop. Then, he let fly with two arrows that slam punched clean through a pair of running zombies well before they were close enough to endanger the spearman. He continued to pick the faster creatures off as he saw them, leaving his compatriot to deal with the lurching lumps of rotten flesh. (OOC Notes: Been more than three days. Took my turn.)) @paracelsus Aeon Marks

| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US.
DM Post
In all the chaos that was happening in the small quaint town of Camlorn, it would be suggest it could no longer be called quaint. The town being overrun by the zombies was one of the most exciting things to happen to the small town, let alone the most deadly. Where the sound was, that was where the zombies were headed. So the sound of the running truck? That was what the zombies were currently heading towards. Soon enough the truck would be overrun by zombies on both sides, with the reawakened dead people aiming for anything that moved and looked tasty.
All of our heroes were heading towards city hall, but knew not what lied in wait. As soon as they approached the steps that would lead up to the building, a car would explode behind them. This would unfortunately draw the attention of some very hungry dead humans. The first to fall, was out of the second story window. Straight towards the first group that approached. Somewhat quickly for zombies, the windows soon became broken due to the falling bodies. The double doors would break open to reveal a horde twice the size of the ones outside. Each wanting more flesh and shambling towards the sounds of life.
It would soon become evident that City Hall had become compromised, and the hunters surrounded. Each of the groups would notice this just a moment too late, and the zombies would have the advantage in the next move. They would shamble towards the hunters, and they would leave a trail of flesh in their wake. It seemed that they had snacked on the poor civilians that had holed up in City Hall.
It was unfortunate however that one zombie in particular would go past a sparkling electric panel. Hence the fried flesh of a decomposing rotting once alive person would catch fire. Even more unfortunate, was that this particular zombie would shamble towards the Hall, and the very historic building being made of wood, would catch fire. It’s official, City Hall is now aflame.

Just as Culan was about to strike, an array of projectiles shot down all the zombies that were walking towards Culan, it was the shooter from the top of the building. Culan shot a glance at the shooter who provided him support and smirked, he doesn’t care who he is, as long as they are on his side. Just as he was about to go down the clear road that would lead to City Hall, something terrible happened? Barricaded doors were brought down from the inside, windows shatter before the corpses being thrown off the building and a massive horde emerged from the entire building. To make matters worse, some parts of City hall are on fire, and he scorned. The objective was lost, the Camlorn police were long overrun probably minutes before they had arrived here. The explosion of the car only made it worse, creating a wall of zombies that may prove difficult to pass, runners were spawning out of the building and some were already on fire. Though Culan may have been safe because of the shooter, what of Aeon’s team? They still have the router that could provide overwatch for the entire city but with the City Hall gone, Camlorn has fallen and an alternative location for overwatch would be an option. Communications are short and some kind of atmosphere is blocking most of the radio waves preventing anyone in Camlorn to call for reinforcements. “DAMMIT BE SAFE!” Now he realizes that leaving Aeon was a huge mistake, Aeon and his teams are in danger and if they fail to contain the situation in Camlorn, then the roads between Dagos and Felici will be cut and Ethea would be in danger. There’s still a way to get out of this mess if they can set the router up high to a safer place or at least with the proper equipment to tune it up. Regrouping with Aeon is priority, finding an alternate Overwatch comes afterwards. This is a nightmare, everything is falling apart and there’s no way to communicate with the teams sent to find Dullahan and Umbrage now. Culan can only struggle to fight and pierce through in order to get to the team at once. And as much as possible, he’d avoid getting swarmed himself. Valkorion Aeon Marks KitCat

Valkorion’s assessment of the situation suddenly went from good to bad, then from bad to worse. Not only had the building he’d chosen to make his stand against the tide was now a charnel house full of undead civilians. Apparently, a veritable feast for the creatures took place within the walls and that feast gave birth to an even large horde that what was already outside. Further complicating thing was the fact that one of them seemed have caught themselves aflame and done so to the building in turn. A few rapid recalculations in regards to his odds of survival atop this place were made. It was obviously no longer viable to use City Hall as a vantage point from which to fight; a new location would need to be chosen, and soon. The android gathered up as many quivers as he could carry (four to be exact) and ran for the edge of city hall.
He leapt across the gap towards the roof of the nest building, taking advantage of the fact that it was significantly lower than his current location. He landed with a roll to help dissipate the impact from his fall and continued running. The escape route he’d planned previously included a ladder that was thankfully clear of undead, who seemed far more preoccupied with the large team of armed men standing outside their realm. He took the time to launch several arrows into the undead engaged with the spearman (partially to assist the man and partially to relieve some of his load) before climbing down to ground level and proceeding to his ally’s location, firing all the way.

He twirled his lance and strike, but not with a confident grin. He was worried about Aeon and his squad and there’s no telling where they maybe amidst the chaos. The dead just grew in number and culling them down is starting to become a problem, no matter how skilled Culan maybe, he was just human who can be easily tired out. A volley of arrows was shot of from the high ground, eliminating the corpses that were creeping on behind Culan’s back. It was the shooter from before, forced to the ground after having lost his vantage point, one more for the boat. As the undead were cleared, there was a moment of silence as his eyes met his, smirking to see the archer up close. “Hoh? I haven’t seen you around before, but you have my thanks. I have the feeling we have met before but now isn’t a good time to stand and chat now right?” he exhaled as by hints of his exhaustion. “If you’re not an enemy of the Hunters or the government for that matter then I can solicit your aid as I need to reunite with the squad that I separated from.” He twirled his lance and stared right at what’s in front of them. “You better not hit the wrong targets” Culan said as he started running in search of his squad. Whether the Archer be his ally or not, as long as he’s not pointing one at the Lancer, nothing will go wrong. Note: Sorry about that Valkorion , I was lagging behind on posts.

| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US.
POST
The damage of the attack would be shown all throughout the small city of Camlorn and waypoint between the two major cities of Ethea Felici and Dagos. For whatever reason the characters had found themselves in the city it would most certainly be an experience they would not forgot. From the dead rising to the fact that they were trying to eat innocent citizens who had done nothing wrong. Everyone certainly had an experience of some sort.
City hall had been set on fire, a gasoline station had been blown up, and the dead roamed into the streets of the small city. Things had certainly happened and the people around would certainly learn to cremate their dead soon enough. If there were no bodies, this meant there was no chance of the dead rising for the next meal. The people of Camlorn would soon be wiser from this event.
As such, everyone would be amazed to see that the dead would fall silent. Their bodies not moving, keeping still against the floor where they would fall. If prompted they would not wake, this time most certainly deader than dead. The zombies were fallen once again, leaving only a mess, disaster, and confusion in their wake. Along with the fallen dead people, two would fall as well, exhaustion overpowering their limbs, eyes growing heavy as both, Fiamma, and Aiden would pass out, drifting into a slumber.
Slowly, citizens would emerge from their buildings, and a cheer would rise. The dead had fallen. The threat was over. The living had emerged victorious, and they had conquered over a zombie infestation. It was awe inspiring and each of the group would witness a camaraderie between all races, a party beginning to be thrown as the bar owners would break out the booze, and the clubs blaring music. There would be a party in the streets as citizens would focus on finding family and friends ensuring their safety.
A member of the public would approach each of the groups that had emerged during the conflict. Each would offer a small reward to each member. The Heroes of Camlorn had the citizens gratitude, and were welcome any time, no matter the race of the people. Race seemed to be of little consequence when the dead would rise and attack.
Slowly but surely it could be said that Camlorn would rebuild, cremate their lost loved ones, and grow again into the prosperous stopping point between Dagos and Felici. For now though, people were focused on their safety and the safety of their family and friends.
