| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US. Well some of them are walking. Others are hobbling, limping, crawling, or flailing helplessly while unable to get back up off their back.
Most Camlorn citizens are hiding indoors out of justified fear. The town's smaller police force are frantically attempting to protect their civilians. When this newest wave of undead entered the town, the rumors were proven to be true. In regards to where you are at the time the emergency sirens began blaring in response to the invasion, you find yourself next to two other people. Seems like surviving the current situation would be easier if you worked together.
OOC ☠ You may write for npc characters in this event. If you want to keep a lost child safe for instance to spice up your thread, you have permission.
☠ It is up to the first poster to set the scene. Are you outside running towards the siren to see how you can help? Are you inside a building trying to keep the swarm from entering and harming npc human civilians inside? etc etc, up to you.
☠ Each member is allowed 48 full hours to reply when it becomes their turn. After two days have past, the next person in line is allowed to respond.
☠ A staff member through out the event may post random occurrences to throw you guys a curve ball.
☠ The undead in this event can be categorized under the classification "roamer". Their souls have moved on and their brains are most likely decayed so there's no memory or basic logic that you can expect from these guys. If they hear sound in one direction, they will follow that lead. They do not use tools such as a rock to break a window, they will merely slam themselves against it. If there's a target on the other side of a broken bridge they will walk off the bridge until there's enough of a pile to possibly get across. (For the sake of the event, consider these to be a reoccurring spawn of sorts; the event will end when the staff post that all the bodies drop)
☠ If you get bit there is no spreading of zombie-ness. These undead are the work of a necromancer's magic, not a virus. They are entering from outside the town inwards, seeming to be searching for the one who summoned them. Cemeteries, morgues, the mass burial ground of magi from the nearest etc, The older an undead, the slower they move. For instance, a body of a recently deceased person from a hospital will be able to run while the body of a 187 year old corpse will be jauntily hobbling at best.

When the zombies were first seen, it didn't seem like too big of a threat. I mean yeah, they were disgusting and hard to put down, but most civilians thought that the hunters and local police would protect them. Not long after that, they had blamed the magi, of course. Even though the event was covered up and the survivors laughed off as crazy people, the rumours spread like wildfire, adding fuel to the already burning hatred that the humans held for the magic users. In an effort to clear their name, Yami was sent to Camlorn to investigate whatever was happening, meeting up with a handler in the city that would update him on the situation, as well as a few others that would be assigned to the case. He had arrived early for the meeting, and spent his time walking around the shops, listening to the residents and their rumours, covered by a cloak that masked his body and the lower half of his face.
When the alarm sounded, he was forced into one of the shops by an officer, but left quickly by sneaking out of a back room window. Not wanting to sneak around the streets he located a ladder leading up to one of the rooftops, and raced towards the meeting place that had been arranged, using his sand to launch himself across the gaps he was unable to simply jump across, making good speed. About five minutes later he reached the alleyway behind the liberation owned building, only to find the scene unlike what he had imagined.
His handler, who he assumed was once a pretty, young woman, laid on her back, covered in blood with extensive wounds littering her body, inflicted by a weapon obviously lacking in finesse or precision. If Yami didn't know better, he would say that it was the work of some vicious animal, the way it almost seemed like she had been fed on. Taking a quick glance around he looked for the attacker, a small ball of sand making it's way into his hand and forming a spike, ready to be fired off on command.
"Whoever is there, show yourself now!"

Mod Step Shuffle (District Four)he shuffling of feet was discordant, disjointed and cumbersome sounding, but the voiced challenge was out of place, given the terror of the forbidden arts he had seen thus far. Stepping over to the edge of the building he had been sheltering atop of, he looked across a gap in the rooftops, to see another Magi, another Earth bender it seemed, facing away from him, and standing over the body of a mauled young woman. A grunt and crash of feet on steps, turned Ro's attention back to the access point he had used to get up here to start with. A large middle aged man, who looked to have died at some point in the last week, stumbled up the stairs, his right side looking slightly crushed, and accounting for his crooked gait. Moving to the edge of the rooftop, he dared not take his eyes from this apparent threat, as he called out to the other Magi; "Magi! What madness grips this town?" his hand reached into a pocket, and drew out a piece of flint and a bit of metal, which he used to strike out a burst of sparks, showering out like a weak shotgun blast, covering the Zombie in smoldering embers that Ro' then reached out to, and turned into a blazing fireball that flashed brightly for a few moments, as his fingers and hands moved, drawing the fire back and forth like a saw, and like a saw, it cut through his decaying flesh right at the knees, knocking it over into a burning pile of dead flesh. Looking back to the other Magi, he pointed a still smoldering finger tip at the mangled girl at his feet; "What happened to her?" made by ira of stf and ww

The dream of the future you see, dissolves...
The rumors she had heard out in Dagos about this place hardly did it justice. Upon entering the town of Camlorn it became readily apparent that the ones she had heard must have been hopelessly diluted by the time they met her ears. She had heard rumors of a crime spree releasing a band of dangerous unstable prison inmates or a terrorist Zero somehow managing mind control, a far cry from the shambling mass of corpses which now made their ways about the streets. Worse yet, it seemed she arrived in the middle of the whole mess. [break][break] Down a street, into an alleyway the small statured young woman ran with an anxious quiver plaguing her arms and legs. Three corpses animated from a crashed ambulance managed to follow with an impressive speed for the living dead, but fortunately their balance was poor from what she had to guess were broken pones impeding their process. Still, these things were single minded and she could not afford to stop lest she end up another poor statistic mangled on the street. [break][break] Before long Fey's ear caught the sound of shouts, from above. Different than the ambient groans of the beasts and screams of civilians. They sounded sentient and purposeful. The girl's teeth grit together, she hadn't planned on mingling with anyone else on this visit, but this was hardly a normal job. Fey quickly yanked a handheld torch lighter from her dress pocket and flicked the switch to produce a small flame. A split second later, just before the first of the corpses that followed reached her, a billow of flame burst from her feet with a small explosion. [break][break] The force rocketed the girl upwards, and a second blast sent her careening further upwards towards the buildings roof. The zombie below was scorched by the flame and Fey came tumbling onto rooftop a moment later in a haphazard roll. Wincing in a small bit of pain from the impact she pushed back to her feet, quickly glancing around to take note of two male magi only a relatively short ways away. She tugged a hood down and shook thick hair out, revealing a pair of curling horns atop her head. [break][break] Fey jogged over to the edge of the building she stood atop to get a look at what one of the magi pointed towards, the mangled body of a woman on the street down below. “This is awful” She muttered to herself, eyes fixed down on the street below

Before Yami could respond to the other man's question, he had his own problems to deal with, namely in the form of one of the zombies, presumably the one that had attacked the poor girl, shambled from behind a dumpster as it was drawn out by the commotion currently being caused. He wasted no time in firing off his sand spike, as it impacted the things head instead of piercing it spread to cover the head, smothering it in a thin layer. Focusing once more Yami clenched his fist, and the sand compacted all at once, crushing the dead things skull instantly. That way there would be less blood to mix with the sand, as liquid hampered his control a fair bit when there was any real concentration of it.
With his attention no longer on the threat, he turned again to where the voice had come from, to see two other people, Magi he assumed, as the male had addressed him as one without fear or anger and currently had a burning finger, and the girl's horns spoke for themselves. Happy to at least find people who probably wouldn't try to kill him right away, he gathered the sand back into his hand and formed a ball instead, not seeing any need for immediate hostilities. "I was hoping one of you might know what happened. I was meant to meet with this woman but it seems there were...complications. Do you have any idea what is really happening?"

he appearance of another Magi gave Ro' a measure of hope, and given how skilled she looked to be, he felt better about the odds of getting out of this strange and possibly deadly situation. Greeting; "Ro' Yang Xaio Dax... This is bad is it not?" he looked to the end of the alley and saw more of the undead stagger by, some looking to be in far better shape than others. Retaliative as he had to admit that was. The sounds of more undead clambering up the stairs after their charred and crushed fellows drew his attention for a moment, before he weighed his options and sized the other two Magi up, and finally decided on his course of action. Looking around the rooftop for a few moments, Dax then looked to the other Magi, and nodded towards the next rooftop over, the top of what looked to be a small convenience store; "That place is already locked, and the back will likely be secured. This place won't be safe for much longer." reaching to his back, he pulled his grandfathers Gemini Sword from its scabbard and doused the flicker of flame on his other fingertip as he set his feet into the rooftop; "We stay here, we might die, but I think I know of a path to safety." he looked back over his shoulder at the other two before smirking slightly, the light glinting off of his scared face as he crouched and then sprinted forward, swinging his sword, to drag it along the top of the roof, creating a shower of sparks that swirled up and followed him, dancing upwards towards his back, and forming into a pair of sparkling and glowing dragon like wings, that boosted him as he lept up and over the gap onto the rooftop beyond. Landing with a roll, Ro' swept around swiftly, and checked to ensure that it was in fact safe. nothing appeared out of place, or dangerous, so he waved the other two over with his free hand. It was almost immediately apparent the other two she caught sight of were Magi like herself, evidenced by a spear of sand piercing one shambling body through the skull only to crush it a moment later, and a flicking flame atop the finger of the other. The girl gave a sigh, judging by their words it seemed neither of them had any more of an idea about what was happening here than she did. Her nerves trembled a bit, but now wasn't the time to let a bit of social anxiety get the better of her. There were many more real threats to deal with at the moment. “I think this has gone past bad... But I have no idea whats going on here.” She bit back some hesitation as she spoke, eye drawing from the street below, to the two men, and then back down to the street. [break][break] “I guess I'm here to find that out... huh.” Fey stated to herself, confirming just why she was here as if to not become distracted. When the other fire magi gestured over towards another rooftop Fey took a glance in turn. A store which had apparently been secured. “Right...” She muttered a quiet reply, that was the best bet they could have looked for she supposed. Either way the man with the scarred face was right, it would be better to keep moving. [break][break] Following suit Fey took some steps back allowing her to break into a run towards the edge of the roof. As soon as her foot hit the edge a billow of flame exploded from the sole of her shoe sending the small girl rocketing towards the next roof, a small cloud of dust and shrapnel from the buildings edge raining down on the street below. A moment later she landed on the next roof with a small slightly stumbling jog. [break][break] Tentatively, she stepped towards the other fire magi, ultimately coming to a stop still a fair distance away. “I'm not sure anywhere will be safe for long with these things around. This place should be... evacuated.” Fey spoke idly, her voice trailing off slightly with the realization of how unlikely an evacuation effort would be in this situation. It would need force and sturdy transportation at the very least, which seemed in short supply at the moment.

he sounds of the zombies on the street below grew more sparse, as the pack that had been advancing on the building across the way filled it with their shuffling forms, searching for the Magi who had just left the rooftop for some safety. Looking to the access hatch on the roof next to the Climate-control exhaust port, Ro' looked to the others and pointed down the hatch as he hoisted it open; "We should get out of the air, if they can track us by sound, then they might be able to track us in other ways as well."Climbing down the ladder quickly but quietly, Ro' examined the storage room he found himself in, and then quietly moved to the door, and pressed his ear against it listening to see if his hunch was correct, or if the Zombies had broken into the store from where he could not have seen. made by ira of stf and ww

| THE DEAD WALK AMONG US.
POST
The damage of the attack would be shown all throughout the small city of Camlorn and waypoint between the two major cities of Ethea Felici and Dagos. For whatever reason the characters had found themselves in the city it would most certainly be an experience they would not forgot. From the dead rising to the fact that they were trying to eat innocent citizens who had done nothing wrong. Everyone certainly had an experience of some sort.
City hall had been set on fire, a gasoline station had been blown up, and the dead roamed into the streets of the small city. Things had certainly happened and the people around would certainly learn to cremate their dead soon enough. If there were no bodies, this meant there was no chance of the dead rising for the next meal. The people of Camlorn would soon be wiser from this event.
As such, everyone would be amazed to see that the dead would fall silent. Their bodies not moving, keeping still against the floor where they would fall. If prompted they would not wake, this time most certainly deader than dead. The zombies were fallen once again, leaving only a mess, disaster, and confusion in their wake. Along with the fallen dead people, two would fall as well, exhaustion overpowering their limbs, eyes growing heavy as both, Fiamma, and Aiden would pass out, drifting into a slumber.
Slowly, citizens would emerge from their buildings, and a cheer would rise. The dead had fallen. The threat was over. The living had emerged victorious, and they had conquered over a zombie infestation. It was awe inspiring and each of the group would witness a camaraderie between all races, a party beginning to be thrown as the bar owners would break out the booze, and the clubs blaring music. There would be a party in the streets as citizens would focus on finding family and friends ensuring their safety.
A member of the public would approach each of the groups that had emerged during the conflict. Each would offer a small reward to each member. The Heroes of Camlorn had the citizens gratitude, and were welcome any time, no matter the race of the people. Race seemed to be of little consequence when the dead would rise and attack.
Slowly but surely it could be said that Camlorn would rebuild, cremate their lost loved ones, and grow again into the prosperous stopping point between Dagos and Felici. For now though, people were focused on their safety and the safety of their family and friends.
