Personality overall
Drew is a person of vast duality. His baseline personality is that of a musician, quiet and introspective. He was originally very shy and kindhearted, but this aspect of his personality was changed by the process of experimentation and the mistreatment that he suffered under, which made him more prone to violence than he would have been otherwise. He is still a very capable guitar player, but he is no longer the personable man he could have been, if his life had turned out differently. Instead, he tends to avoid others when he is off of work, trusting no one that he has not investigated beforehand. He is a naturally patient man, which allows him to control the aggressive side to his instincts better than a lesser man could have, but he is quick to violence when he feels that he is in danger. Observant to a fault, he appears calm on the outside, but can be jumpy if he is approached unexpectedly.
From a psychology side, Drew is a rather unhealthy person. His behavior is what scientists called dissociative, and he thinks of the fractured sect of his personality as "the wolf," who often surfaces to protect him when he experiences trauma. The wolf is a manifestation of the feral aspect of his personality, to the point that it doesn't understand any spoken language, but behaves more like an animal. This aspect of his personality is very aggressive, and has no sense of caution. While it is cunning, it doesn't use any real tactics. In addition to this dissociative tendency, Drew experiences many of the symptoms of PTSD, including nightmares, insomnia, and over-alertness.
Among others, Drew is a natural leader. His size and persona allows him to give the impression of authority easily, which aids him in his line of work, but it also creates a personal barrier between him and friendships that he might have formed with those who are intimidated by him. He is very protective of the people around him, and is likely to put himself on the line to protect innocent bystanders. In combination with his size, his personality makes it difficult to stay hidden, because he cannot stand by when someone is about to get hurt. However, if he is pressed, there is very little that he will not do to protect his loved ones, no matter how distasteful.

[PTab=APPEARANCE]
locked away in permanent slumber
appearance
Drew is a massive man, about 6'6", weighing in about about 300 pounds. Aside from his considerable musculature, his wolf aspect includes a thick black wolf's tail that he keeps hidden by a dark red cape. His black hair is black and spiky, serially untidy. His skin tone is dark and unmarked by freckles, though he has a mole on the small of his back. Because of the experimentation, the escape, and the subsequent fighting, his dark skin is marked by scars in many places, not least of which is a thin scar across the bridge of his nose. He also has a couple of slashes on the side of his neck from a pair of bullets grazed him. His eyes, which are dark brown, and glow pale blue when he uses magic, and become lighter in color when he is angry or very alert, reaching a pale gold. From the experimentation, he has a barcode tattoo on the back of his neck, which designates him as AE2466513.
His wolf aspect is a change to his physicality that becomes exaggerated when he is upset. Although his teeth always look a little longer and sharper than a normal human's, when he is upset, his canine teeth grow sharper and longer, and his eyes become amber in color. As he loses control, he grows black fur along the back of his face and neck, as well as along his spine, to match the black wolf tail that he always has. At the final stage of this, his usually pointed fingernails also grow and thicken into claws, but this level of transformation is extremely painful and difficult to control. Oftentimes, he doesn't remember his actions when he loses control to this extent.
Fashion
Although Drew can usually be found wearing blue jeans and a black tank top, he often wears armor that he picked up on his travels, especially if he is expecting trouble. A long red cape tends to hide his wolf tail, but he only wears it with the armor, or when traveling among humans. At home, in Haven, he dresses much more casually. In whichever outfit, he wears sturdy black boots.

biography
Drew was born outside of Bruniik, Wuld, the son of Maxwell Schultz and Maria Schultz. His mother, Maria, was a second-generation immigrant from Suraja, but more unusually, she was a fire Magi who married a simple human farmer. Although her powers were great, she lived in fear of the burden that it would place upon her young son, knowing from experience that such power was often difficult to control. When he began to spontaneously create smoke at four years of age, she knew that she had to train him. Homeschooling him instead of allowing him to go off to pre-school, Maria worked with Drew to teach him how to control the power inside of him. By day, Drew would help his father work the fields, and sometimes would learn to play the guitar from his father, but by night he would train with his mother on the incantations that allowed him to wield his powers.
Maxwell was a simple farmer, descended from Fokradiin immigrants who had come to Wuld before Magi were in the world, but his land was extensive, and his refusal to sell the land that his fathers had worked gained him some enemies, particularly the Pike family. This unfriendly business started out small, with them refusing small favors, but it grew rapidly to scaring off the farm hands and preventing the Schultz family from getting loans. Without the power of attorneys behind him, Maxwell could do little but do his best to keep out of the way of the Pike family’s path, since they had far more capital and big city lawyers to back it. The rivalry culminated in the attempt to burn down the Schultz family’s home.
In the dead of night, the eldest son of the Pikes, Redmond Pike, set fire to the small farmhouse where the Schultz family lived. Had the family been awake, they might have escaped the flames, and one of the two fire wizards in the family might have been able to stop it before it got out of control. As it was, the family didn’t wake until the entire first floor was already well on its way to engulfed. Maxwell died first as the smoke rose to their second-story bedroom. Maria desperately tried to get to her son, but the lack of air stopped her from being able to get there. When she reached Drew’s room, she tried to get the pair of them out, but the stairs had already collapsed. When the rest of the house followed suit, Maria died protecting Drew from falling debris.
By morning, the flames had died down and the fire department found Drew unconscious but alive, miraculously (from their point of view) unburned. The event made the papers, and attracted the attention of the Axium Corporation, an outfit of criminals that had interwoven itself with the governments of Bruniik and Dremyolok. They found him in the foster system and had their operatives legally adopt him before taking him to an underground facility as an experiment. At the time, their interests were invested in trying to create a subject that would be able to hide its animalistic Magi traits, and they decided that Drew was the perfect subject. Erasing his past and memories with a trick of technology, they gave him the designation AE2466513, and performed dozens of DNA experiments, eventually granting him the ability to retract his fangs and claws, and even round his ears.
Thrilled with their success, the scientists began testing his abilities immediately. Pitting him against other trapped Magi, they didn't wait to train him before putting him in the ring with Magi who were half maddened by the pain of their experiments. After a few times of Drew being seriously wounded by this technique, they found an operative to train him in fighting. This operative, a Fire Magi himself, taught Drew how to protect himself, and how to use his growing physicality. Although the operative would never give Drew his real name, he called himself “Virgil.” Virgil called Drew by his designation, like the scientists, but eventually took pity on the subject and told Drew his real name, under the condition that Drew would keep it a secret.
Drew did a good job of pretending to be the obedient soldier, to the point that the Corporation even considered contracting him out to the government for missions, but they were hesitant to let the government know the extent of their experiments, and the idea died out. Instead, they began to use him to put down other experiments that got out of control. He became their pet killer, and for a long time, he was afraid that it would be the only life he would ever have. For years, he did only what he was told, and endured medical tests that were meant to determine how he had been such a successful experiment when so many others had failed. He killed many other experiments who were either unsuccessful in accepting their new lives or were deemed too unstable to continue.
He bided his time, until the chance came to escape. At 28 years of age, he finally managed to find his way to the records room and retrieve his file. Although the name of his hometown didn’t seem familiar, he knew that it was the place to begin his new life, even if he was an orphan, as his file indicated. He escaped that night, and he was long gone before the scientists even knew he had left his cell.
It took him a few months to locate the town where he had been born, and he found that his old land had been bought by the Pike family, in the absence of anyone left to claim it. Believing, however, that the Pike family had received the land because they were friends or relatives, he approached the farm to find out more about the life he had lost. The family was now headed by Redmond, who had burned down the house all of those years ago. Redmond, who didn’t know that Drew had lost his memories, accidentally admitted what he had done. Memories came flooding back in disconnected pieces. Rage came with it. Losing himself to the wolf aspect, he slaughtered Redmond and his elderly wife.
With that grisly sign of his presence, it didn’t take the Corporation long to track him down. In a shootout that left some dead, some wounded, and Drew seriously hurt, he managed to escape into the Dremyolok. An underground doctor found him near death and nursed him back to health. Once Drew was healthy again, the doctor put him in contact with the crime boss who became Drew’s employer. Although he didn’t want to continue to kill people, he consented to act as a bodyguard for the crime boss, on the condition that the boss should run interference with anyone who was trying to find him.
This arrangement has worked well for a few years, but it wasn't meant to last. At the age of 31, Drew met a woman named Lilith, and soon fell in love with her. For a few months, the pair of them were happy together, until an old fling of hers began to stalk her. Although Drew tried to protect her, Lilith went to confront the stalker herself, and found herself kidnapped. Drew managed to fight his way through the hired bodyguards and free her, but not before she'd been terribly brutalized.
In the weeks that followed, the men who had escaped Drew's rampage tipped the police that he was responsible for the bodies that had been dropped. Although the police could not make any of these accusations stick, a dirty cop who worked for Axium Corporation saw the tattoo that marked Drew as an experiment, and reported it. Within less than a week, Axium tracked him down and kidnapped him again, taking Lilith along as a means to control him.
Recaptured, Drew did all that he could to protect Lilith throughout the new round of trials that were intended to see how much of the animal traits they could draw out of him. Unfortunately, there was little he could do to protect her from the effects of the mind games and torture that they suffered under. By the time that the pair of them escaped, she was no longer the happy-go-lucky woman he'd first met. Returning home for a brief time, he was forced to pay off the debts to his old bosses by acting as their hired gun, for however brief a time.
The fear that they would be recaptured, however, was too much for him to stay there long term. It wasn't long before he took Lilith and began the long trek to Ethea. In the course of the journey, he scrounged a massive longsword from the body of a Magi that had been assassinated in the middle of nowhere, and he started to use it as his own weapon. It took them a few years to get there, since Drew doesn't drive, but they eventually settled in Camlorn, near the edge of town. Unable to get an honest job in the city because of the wolf tail that he tries to keep hidden, he works in Haven while Lilith commutes to the University.

[PTab=SKILLS]
THEIR GNASHING TEETH AND CRIMINAL TONGUES CONSPIRE AGAINST THE ODDS
Default Skills
Flame I: Just as most Magi Magic, the flames must already exist. So be prepared to carry around matches and lighters with you. You are able to grow fire from your immediate person to double your arms length.
Heat: The ability to cause at least one appendage of your body to warm up at a time (arm, leg, etc). Your skin can get to the point of burning someone upon contact if you wish or remain at a comforting warmth. Judging your own character's level of experience and practice, they may be able to heat up their entire body at once.
Unarmed Combat (STARTER): You know the basics and can hold your own in a street fight. Drew's style is based off of krav maga, a style that is quick and brutal, always looking to disable within the first few seconds and end the fight quickly. It is effective in close quarters against groups of opponents, but is not recommended for sparring or friendly bouts, because most of its strikes do serious damage.
Purchased abilities
Magi Traits Enhancement: The time spent nurturing the magic inside of you has manifested in a new or stronger animal trait. Drew has a strong sense of smell, about as keen as a normal wolf. He also has more physical endurance than a normal Magi, a result of his wolfish traits.
Magi Trait Enhancement The time spent nurturing the magic inside of you has manifested in a new or stronger animal trait. Drew's wolfish nature has granted him the ability to see very well at night. He can see almost as well at night as he can during the day.
Flame II: (Upgrade of Flame I) Can control a higher amount of flames that can reach up to 12 feet away from its origin.
Flames III: (Upgrade of Flame II) Your flames can grow or be shot out to a distance that varies from individual to individual. At the extreme most one mile away. With Master level monks these fiery projectiles have been known to border the speeds of bullets.
Fiery Aura: (Upgrade of Heat) With enough concentration and practice you will see a layer of magical flames dancing over (up to) the entirety of your body, making each punch or kick that much more spicy. This will cause issues to anyone sparring with you since the flames can in fact exist apart from your touch and may spread if they come into contact with something flammable. Note: Whereas your body will not burn your clothes most likely will. I hope you're comfortable naked~
Grenade: As you may have guessed those fiery projectiles aren't just burning someone now if they land. Upon making first contact with whatever it does it will explode with the approximate same strength as a military grenade.
Flame Propulsion: Need an extra boost of speed? You are now capable of using your hands, feet, or all four as thrusters to shoot yourself forward at a much faster rate. It might take some time for the noobs to be able to keep up coordination with the speeds you're going at.
Higher Resistance to Downers: Takes double the amount to bring down.
Pilot: (Upgrade of Flame Propulsion-Gifted by the Goddess Arithelia) You are now capable of flight using the same thrusters as mentioned above. Rather self-explanatory but if you need a reference look up how Iron Man gets around~
Combustion: You can now heat up an object from a distance until they burst into flame. What you're capable of performing with these fires is dependent upon the Flame level you are at. Note: this is not an explosion, just a birthing of flames.
Purchased weaponry levels
Unarmed Combat II: You have improved in this skill and can accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weapon-ed attacks.
Unarmed Combat III: You are extremely talented in unarmed combat within the field that you have chosen to study in. Not only are you more able to defend yourself against melee weapon-ed attacks but you have a high chance in getting your opponent in dropping their weapon as well if given the chance (the fumble concept also applies to firearms as well).
Melee Combat I (STARTER): Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with melee weapons. Drew's main melee weapon is a sword, but he is also proficient in the use of knives in close quarters combat.
Melee Combat II: You are now better able to dual wield if you wish to. You are more likely to better a melee level I.
Melee Combat III: Depending on your character's insinuated realism a character can be up to a mastery level with this purchase. Even up to being able to slice a bullet from mid air. You are more likely to better a melee levels I and II.
Melee Mastery (KNIVES): At this point your mastery has become world known. People come from all over to learn from you. Few can beat you in your chosen Weapon. You're even able to slice a flying bullet. You are more likely to better a melee levels I, II, and III.
Firearm I (STARTER): Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with firearm weapons.
Artifact
Crest of the Draco: When Magi were first created, it is said that Arithelia granted her firsts-borns with crest to mark themselves above the rest. The Fire Magi received a golden ring with a cat's eye as the center stone. The ring Increases the heat of the manipulated fire, turning it blue. This artifact now negates the cancellation effect of hunter weapons.
