Drugs, drinks, sex, fights. This cozy little hole in the wall had all the makings of an excellent spot to have a party. Here and there were any number of ways one could enjoy themselves. You could walk in any one direction and find something interesting. Hell, the place was scant blocks from the red light district and the slums. You could drink to your hearts content, then go to a whorehouse to buy yourself the pleasurable company of a man or a woman or both if that’s what struck your fancy. And if pleasures of the flesh didn’t interest you, there was always the option of roaming into the slums and finding yourself a beggar to pummel senseless.
All were tempting options; all equal in the enjoyment of the act.
For a man like Valkorion, Dagos was an excellent place to live life to its fullest, partake of every conceivable pleasure. Merely roaming down the streets was enough to excite his blood (figuratively speaking that is). Every step was an adventure that led into another. Gazing into the darkened alleyways might yield the spectacle of some poor wretch taking the beating of his life or the sight a young couple delighting in themselves with carnal knowledge of one another; said couples might either stop with shamefaced looks or continue on as if none had noticed.
Anything was possible and everything was permitted. Valkorion could think of only a single way of describing it.
“Hell of a place,” the android said. Such was the exuberance in his voice that one would’ve thought he’d stumbled upon paradise, because in his mind it was.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"][break][break] While Valkorion might consider this area to be paradise, Kaveri saw it in a different light. He often had to travel through the area when making his round to the temples or when he had to get anywhere in this awful city. His rental home was located in the slums which made it impossible not to pass through this hell hole. He hated walking through this area for a number of reasons, one being the violence he spotted and erm, the other bits. He kept his eyes low as he passed by an alleyway, careful not to really look into it for the oblivious. Another reason he hated coming through here is because of the Black Market. He had heard rumors that the place would have kidnapped Magi and try to sell them as slaves to those with enough cash or even whore out the unexpecting regardless of the fact there was more willing ones in the area. [break][break] Thus, it was no surprise that Kaveri made sure that he just blended in with the locals and not draw attention to himself. He had traded in his normal white attire for a pair of black harem pants with a neon blue sash around it. His sleeveless top was also black with a hood trimmed in the same blue. He put the hood to good use by pulling it over his blond and rainbow mixed locks. As stated before, the less attention he pulled the better. Kaveri had just exited a building not long ago from taking care of some personal business on collecting some information from a fellow Magi about the local happenings. Who to avoid, who to look for and what needed his attention. Mostly, what magi’s he might be able to recruit into fixing the old temples or train in the old ways. [break][break] With a small sigh, he was unhappy with most of the news given to him as none of it was useful today nor was the information he really craved. Anything about his missing child that he had lost so long ago. He supposed he was merely looking in the wrong direction. Slipping his hands into his pockets, his bangles jingled lightly against his wrist and ankles while he walked bare footed as normal. [break][break] He came to a cross walk and waited there, for it to give him the go to cross. He was heading out of this hell hole before anyone would have a chance to bother him. Well, that was the plan anyways but his plans never seemed to pan out like he wanted half the time. Valkorion was forced to pause in his little stroll on account of the whims of a crosswalk hindering his progress. Unsure of the direction he wished his night to take, he decided that he would make for the slums to see what troubled soul would dare their luck and try for his belongings; he was positively giddy at the prospect of putting some unfortunate wretch in their place. Failing that, there was always the possibility of perusing the delightfully immoral decadence that was housed under lights of red. Perhaps a whore or two would entertain him for long enough to find proper employment. There might have even been a gentleman’s club worth the name.
His eyes roamed freely as he waited, judging the worth of those around him. Most were poor if their clothing was anything to judge by. Few could pass as little more than beggars, and fewer still looked to be on the lower fringes of the lower middle-class. Valkorion was swiftly growing tired of the game when he finally came across someone that had even the slightest sense of fashion, possibly a male if his judgement of the build was of any worth.
The android smiled. Finally, someone worth talking to! Sure this person was a breed apart from the other degenerates that surrounded him. He plastered his most dashing smile across his face and modified his speech patterns with a Surajan accent. His experience had told him that there were some in the world that appreciated a touch of an exotic twang, making them more likely to indulge in conversation.
“Hello there, my friend,” he said.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"][break][break] Kaveri rocked back and forth on his bare heels while watching the light above him. He jingled lightly with each rock and no one seeemed to mind him at all. Eventually, the light flashed for him to cross and he did just that. He followed the people around him and easily crossed the street. However, he was not prepared to be stopped suddenly by a random stranger. He had just finished crossing and stepped past the man when he heard him speak out. Startled, Kaveri turned and looked over his shoulder and then both directions. He wanted to make sure he was actually being spoken too before replying. Clearly, after a moment he realized the taller male was indeed speaking too him. [break][break] For a good moment, Kaveri stared at the other and carefully eyed him. Not in a sexual manner or anything that could be portrayed as interest but mostly evaluating if he might be a possible threat. Kaveri was anything but dumb and he had learned in his long life to be weary of those on the Red Light District. Especially, when he had first arrived in this city so long ago. He couldn’t see any malice from this man or any signs that might set him off to take off running. No, he seemed innocent enough but the Jellyfish remained a good five feet from him. [break][break] He stepped off to the side as a few people elbowed past him rather rudely. ”Um, Hello.” Kaveri replied softly with a small smile on his features as he tired to be friendly. He noticed the man’s accent was very different from his own and those he normally spoke with. Huh, was he perhaps a foreigner of some sort? Kaveri had never traveled beyond this country and thus never had been to the homeland this individual would possibly be from. So, on that note he figured the other might be seeking directions but for what he hadn’t a clue. [break][break] ”Is there anything I can help you with?” He decided to ask kindly as he was uncertain what to actually say to the stranger. His hands remained in his pockets and only came out briefly to adjust his hood back slightly so he could see the man more clearly. Blue-violent eyes once again took in the man with a mild curiosity. “Yes there was actually,” Valkorion said. He continued his charade of oblivious foreigner as it was achieving the desired affect for the moment. He also took great care to ignore the various others that were pushing their way past him to go about whatever vastly unimportant or uninteresting business they had on que for the day. It would’ve been normal for him to punish such annoyances in a very brutal or unorthodox manner. He set his own pride aside though, difficult as it was. Beating a few dozen fools into submission was quite possibly a surefire way to send the potential source of information running for the hills.
That would be unfortunate.
“I am new here, you see,” the android continued, playing as though he were having difficulty grasping a language he knew well. “I have no… gah, what is word.” He snapped his fingers rapidly to help himself remember. “Idea! Yes, I have no idea where to go or how to do things. You will help me, yes friend?” He flashed another smile, big and friendly. He wanted this man to believe that he meant what he said; he did in away. He was, in fact, lacking in the knowledge required to direct himself in any sort of productive manner. His deficiency in familiarity regarding his current setting was distressing to him and he wanted to remedy that deficiency as quickly as possible. If he could learn even the smallest bit of information could lead him down the right path.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"][break][break] Glancing around as he was bumped into by another individual, Kaveri finally moved in a bit closer to the man and off to the side. Almost using the man and pole behind him as a shield he was finally able to stand without being shoved around. He sighed peacefully, now that he was no longer stuck among the sea of people he could fully focus on the subject at hand. Valkorion. He had to wonder for a moment, as he studied the man again, where he was originally from. He looked a little different then most people in the area. Furthermore, his accent was much thicker then a moment ago. Or rather, it seemed that way to Kaveri but he also had trouble hearing at first due to the amount of people today roaming the streets. [break][break] Listening to the other, he smiled softly at him and scratched at the side of his head. Well, he supposed he could actually help the man out. He hadn't planned to do anything when he was done here other then just go home or to the temple. Home sounded really good though. But alas, he put those thoughts to the side. "Idea? Oh." It took him a moment to realize what the other was saying to him. "Oh, so you need help finding a place to stay? I can help you with that." He spoke with a helpful tone and smiled brightly. He then rotated on his bare heels to take in his surroundings to get himself orientated. [break][break] "Well," he stated softly with a finger to his lower lip in thought. "Depending on how much money you have, you can stay here in theslum area for a pretty cheap price but that's also a bit chancey. There aren't a lot of nice folk in these parts. But if you want to stay somewhere nice I would advise on the main strip or near a casino. Those have much nicer hotels and less ...um... well, ya know." He rolled his hand idly in the air almost embarrassed like. He didn't want to call anyone a murder or a thief but here in this part of town, well, they roamed everywhere it seemed like. "You have this countries currency...right?" He asked just to double check and be a little less awkard. “No, no, I am new here,” Valkorion continued. “Have not earned much money from this place. Need good job to make cash quick cash and find place to charge up. You help me do this, yes?” His eyes widened pleadingly to the man before him. He seemed a nice enough sort and he might even lend a bit of help to him. It had been almost a full eleven hours since his last charge. He’d like it if he weren’t forced to break into some random building or another tonight; not that he was very squeamish about it in the least seeing as it was his normal method of charging since coming to this city. Either way, it would be nice to maintain a low profile for the moment. Another person bumped him and nearly drew out his baser instincts. He stared after the woman in question. A mental note was made to find her later and make her pay for his insolence. Why her in particular when so many others had done the same? There wasn’t really a reason beyond the fact that she’d been the most recent. There was also the possibility of him using the woman as a means to an end in regards to his current situation. “People here very rude,” Valkorion observed. “Why they not stop to say hello?” He looked back to his new friend with in curiosity before a look that spoke of sudden realization devoured it utterly. “Gah, I am sorry, friend. I not tell you my name.” He pointed to himself. “My name Afzal. What yours?” Kaveri Dali

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"][break][break] Kaveri looked at him with some uncertainty but remained smiling. Oh, so he was new-new in these parts. Okay, well he could work with that but he wasn't at all sure how he could even help the fellow. Kaveri wasn't rich by any means and he didn't have any money to give him to help out either. This made him a bit sad but he shoved that away to try and be a bit more logical on the matter. "Quick cash?" He muttered softly and looked around. He wasn't sure how to make quick cash. The only way he knew of was to...well...join the Red District. Which, of course, was not something most desired. [break][break] "Well, Im not too sure on the quick cash but I am sure there are plenty jobs around." He spoke hopefully and when the need to be charged came up he looked at him strangly for a moment. Was this person a cyborg or an AI? How interesting. "Um, I think there is a hotel near by that has ports you can use? I think its down the road here past the ah.." He cleared his throat, "The, um, that house." He gestured towards a whore house and looked clearly embrassed by it. [break][break] A change in subject fixed that issue as he could focus on other things then what was around them. "Oh, well, the city isn't always the friendliest of places." He admitted with a soft chuckle. "But once you get to the nicer side of town people are more friendly then." Unless you are a Magi but hey, this guy had a better chance then he ever would at finding friendly folk. At announcement of his name, Kaveri brighted considerably. He loved meeting new people even if it started out a bit awkward. "I'm Kaveri. It's nice to meet you."[break][break] Tag: Valkorion [attr="class","iconie"] [attr="class","tagsie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

“Nice to meet you, Kaveri, my friend,” Valkorion said. “You help me very much, yes?” In truth, the man hadn’t been of very much assistance to him, but maintaining the friendly demeanor he’d started with was important to making a good first impression. There was not telling what having someone friendly towards him in this city would help him achieve later on. Besides, Kaveri did provide an interesting distraction from the drab monotony he’d seen thus far. Sure, it was interesting to watch the lower dregs of society bleating and scurrying and rolling in the muck, but even that could get boring at times. It reminded him of the time he spent on a small boat with nothing to do but capture spiders for his own amusement. He’d originally attempted to force them to form a cooperative society based on the model of ants. He failed miserably because one spider would usually kill and eat the other, but it did provide an interesting pastime watching the newly discover arachnid colosseum. Humans and Magi were the same way in a manner of speaking. They were all of them fighting and eating and killing one another instead of collaborating with one another for a greater goal. It was also comical how much they and the spiders were alike in the way they battled for domination. Valkorion eyed some of the skeevier-looking humans. “I think that I will walk friend Kaveri home, yes? Too many bad guys out tonight. Want you safe and sound.” You’d be difficult to make use of if you were to suddenly perish, he added silently. Kaveri Dali

Kaveri scratched at his head as he was very unsure on how to help the poor fellow. He was new in the city, didn't have any of their currency and apparently pretty lost. He could understand his situation and he wanted to help him with it as much as he could. That was when the idea struck him. He had gotten in trouble taking a hunter into his home once but this guy didn't look like a hunter. So, he was probably pretty safe!
He gave a soft nod at the other, "Sure, you can walk me back. It is a bad neighborhood here..." And so where some of the people. However, Valkorion didn't look like a bad person nor did he come off as such. So, surely it would be all right to help this fellow out!
Kaveri offered the man a smile as a thought suddenly occured to him. Valk was going to walk him home so why not? "Well, how about this? You can stay with me for the night and then tomorrow we can figure out on how to get you situated to live here? Would that be good?" He would feel horrible not helping him and just leaving him out in this town with no place to go...especially with no money. Kaveri was a bit broke himself and knew the pains of it. He was once in the man's shoes when he was first released from the camps no too long ago.
Kaveri lifted a hand and pointed down the streets. "I don't live to far from here. It's a place I sorta rent when I'm in the area. Its in a better neighborhood too. Come on." Kaveri jerked his hooded head to the side and started down the road and it would be up to Valkorion if he choose to follow him or not.

Excellent! It appeared that there would be no need for breaking and entering for this night. That was an excellent way of earning himself a reputation that he could sorely afford this early in his stay here. Plus, it appeared that Kaveri would be assisting him in his endeavors to find suitable accommodations and perhaps even a means of earning himself a livelihood. “Of course, friend Kaveri!” Valkorion smiled excitedly. He’d not entirely been expecting such kindness so quickly. It would be a welcome change not needing to break the law simply to fulfill his basic energy requirements. He started jogging briefly to close the short distance that grew between them before settling into a more comfortable stride. “How often does friend Kaveri stay in Dagos? And why this place? It not seem very friendly place. Kaveri too nice for it.” And it truly was odd to him that the man was staying in the one of the most dangerous looking cities the android had ever seen. Kaveri didn’t seem the type of man capable of defending himself easily, if at all, though he did seem intelligent enough to stay out of the more dangerous areas. Perhaps there were others that insured his safety on his behalf. Another possibility was that the man was simply more that he appeared to be. Both were valid options and Valkorion had seen other oddities in his travels. Few men that he’d encountered thus far were simply what they appeared. The kindly young man before him might well be proficient in any number of forms of self-defense. Kaveri Dali

Was this a good idea or a bad one? He had no idea what kind of man this fellow really was but he trusted him enough to believe the guy was good natured. Plus, his sweet nature wouldn't allow the fellow to be stranded in this land with nothing. But with his luck this might be some random guy who worked for the Black Market that was looking to catch a Magi to sell to make some big cash. Hopefully, this was not the case.
Kaveri offered him a small smile as he lead the way to his home. "Not often, I come and go randomly. I mostly come to check on the temples here in and repair them." He answered honestly as he slipped his hands back into his pockets. He went down the brightly colored sidewalk and took a left turn down a sidewalk that had less people but still full. "Thank you, it might be less then friendly but its a bit safer then Felici." Though not by much. A lot of questionable folk roamed these streets and to Kaveri, Felici was a lot safer.
Again, Kaveri took another turn and eventually the crowd of people would start to die out as well as the loud noises of the Red Light District. "We aren't too far away now." He informed the other as he took a right this time into a small apartment district that looked worse for ware. It was not a pleasant looking place but it was nice enough. "It's a bit run down looking from the outside but its nice inside. Um, so, what will you be doing in Dagos?" He asked as he started to dig around for his keys to his home. "That is, if you don't mind me asking."
While Valkorion might think Kaveri had some amazing skills for self-defense, he really had none. Kaveri was not a fighter and relied heavily on his magic to get him out of trouble. It wasn't the best thing to fall back on but it was all he knew.

Valkorion walked a step ahead of the Kaveri as they traveled. There were dozens of skeevy looking fellows glaring hunger at his friend, but the android met their stares with one of his own. He did his best to convey a warning not to interfere with their progress with a malevolent smile. This dark expression was enough to dissuade most; for the rest, all it took as a brief, threatening flash of the bow strapped to the duffle bag on his back. Not many of the vermin were bold enough to assault prey that could actually fight back. Like all carrion, they preferred the easy prey and left in search of it. “I am surprised that there are temples in this place,” Valkorion said. “Does not seem very faithful to gods.” They rounded the corner leading away from the Red Light district and into more reputable part of town. The faces here were much friendlier than those of the previous area by a vast margin. It was also much more quiet here; there weren’t nearly as many voices clambering to be heard over the hustle and bustle. In a word, it was peaceful. With the danger seemingly gone, Valkorion allowed himself to fall a step behind his new friend, forming wall of steel between him and any pursuers that might have worked up some courage. They arrived at Kaveri’s home in short order and without incident. Valkorion waited contently as the man dug through his pockets for his keys. He was quick to concoct a hasty response. “It very sad story to tell, friend Kaveri. My papa not like my free spirit, so he want me not so free anymore. Ran here to try and make new life.” Kaveri Dali

After a few minutes of fiddling, Kaveri found his keys and allowed himself and Valk into the home. He would then close and lock the door once the other finally entered. Kaveri sighed softly, kicking off his shoes and dropping his keys off on a small shelf by the door was he walked into his home. He turned on the lights to the small studio flat. ”There are temples everywhere. Some are just in a very poor disarray but I hope to fix that one day.” He spoke honestly to the other with a soft smile.
Ruffling his blond and rainbow locks he yawned lightly while moving towards the small living space. ”Please, make yourself at home and help yourself to anything you like.” He smiled brightly at that and then frowned at the story he was getting from the other. ”Im sorry to hear that, it’s a very sad tale.” He spoke thoughtfully. ”I do hope you will enjoy making a new life here on Dagos though. it’s a nice place, just a bit rough around the edges.” he mused. Kaveri then moved towards the small hallway that would open to a bathroom to the right and a closet to the left.
”I hope you don’t mind, but I think I will take a quick shower.” He chuckled, shrugging off his hoodie like shirt in passing. He put it in a small hamper in front of the hallway revealing that he was wearing an undershirt that kept his upper torso decent still. With his back turned towards Valk, he ruffled his hair once again to unknowingly reveal his numeric tattoo. ”Is there anything you might need before I hope into the shower though?” He inquired, turning to face the other brightly.

Valkorion nodded his appreciation. Restoring the temples of fallen and forgotten gods was a noble gesture worthy of someone of Kaveri’s disposition towards kindness. He stood to gain a great deal of respect and influence from the deed, though Valkorion very much doubted that the man had the compacity to realize it. Perhaps that could eventually be used to his advantage… He set his duffle bag down in a discrete corner of the apartment and began stripping his upper body of its encumbrances. The first to fall away was his jacket, followed swiftly by his breastplate and the shirt he wore underneath it. With his torso completely bare—revealing a chiseled chest and abdomen (father did so enjoy having a perfect son with the physique of an Adonis)—he could focus on the next task of finding the most comfortable looking chair he could and dragging it over to the nearest outlet. Next, he found the seam where his synthetic skin could be parted and carefully peeled it away. Then, he set the skin to the side along with the rest of his belongings, sat down, and opened a panel near where his heart would be, exposing his power core, his proverbial heart. A magnetic conductor connected to the outlet and began drawing energy from the power grid. Finally, Valkorion allowed himself to relax into comfortable position, keeping his movements to an absolute minimum. “It is fine, friend Kaveri,” he said. “This is Kaveri’s home. I just guest here.” The bar code resting at the base of his host’s neck caught his interest. He didn’t take the man for one that would possess such a tattoo. Unless of course it wasn’t put there of his own volition. “What it tattoo for, friend?” Kaveri Dali
