A second generation immigrant from Fokradiin, Talia has faced a lot of prejudice because of her ethnic background. As a result of this, and of her poor upbringing, she is fiercely opposed to prejudice and a natural-born fighter. However, she sees the mess that magic has made of the world, and doesn't approve of its use. With that being said, she would never look down on a Magi or a Cyborg simply because they were a Magi or Cyborg. She stays mostly out of these sorts of politics, but instead stands for the rule of law. She frowns upon the slaying of Magi who haven't broken the law, and dislikes anyone who is too bloodthirsty. So much so that her superiors have considered making her a liaison to the Hunter's guild, but they have not done so because they don't want to get into any direct confrontations with the Guild, and Talia isn't known for her diplomacy.

Her difficult background has left her with some psychological scars, which manifest themselves as self-loathing. She has been known to drink too much, smoke too much, and sabotage her own chances at work, simply because she won't keep her mouth shut. Not the most kindly or cuddly of people, she is very good at her job, and is one of the people that you call in when there is a job that absolutely has to get done. She doesn't play very well with others, and is very good at undercover work. On the job, despite her lack of organizational skill, she has a good understanding of how the crime world works. She knows just how far to push, without revealing herself as a cop.

In a fight, she uses her speed and agility to keep herself from harm. Because she is purely human, she has to rely on defensive and evasive moves to keep herself safe. Her mental agility aids in this, and her unpredictability is sometimes the only thing that stands between life and death.

Talia isn't a particularly tall woman, only 5'7", but she is scrappy enough to make up for it. The thick muscle in her arms and shoulders is evident wherever she goes. She has a sizable tribal tattoo across and over her right shoulder, which signifies "warrior" in her native land of Wuld. Luckily, this unconventional design helps her in her undercover work, allowing her to fit into the street culture more easily. Her black hair is normally down or in a ponytail, but her long bangs often hang in her face. Every now and again, she dies the tips of her hair purple, to match the unusual hue of her eyes. Her eyes, which are a maroon purple color, are reminiscent of her home country, but are sometimes mistaken for a symbol of being a Magi.

Often seen with a cigarette between her lips, Talia is a heavy smoker who always smells a bit like tobacco. She rarely smiles, unless she is in the middle of combat or too drunk to care. If it wasn't for her constantly dour expression, she would probably be considered very attractive. As it is, she looks more like a punk street kid than a police officer, which she uses to her advantage. It is very rare to find her without her dual pistols.




Talia almost never can be found with her police uniform on, since she works undercover a lot. Instead, she wears what she considers her "street uniform," which usually includes a black tank top and matching black jeans, along with combat boots. Her shoulder holsters are the only outward proof of her status as law enforcement, and it is often taken as a symbol of a law breaker instead of law enforcement when people see her. To protect her hands when she fights with her fists, she always wears a pair of black finger-less gloves, which both protect her knuckles and leave her fingers free for using her pistols. She also wears black jeans and combat boots, which make it easier for her to chase after her targets.

Talia's story begins before she was ever born, in the frozen country of Fokradiin. Anya Ivanov was the star of the Hjall Academy, a warrior that only came around once in a generation. She trained hard for her place, and was lauded by the time that she graduated at age 18. She decided to enter the military, and seemed to be on her way up when disaster struck. A terrorist attack from the separatist movement saw the death of her parents, who had been very wealthy and influential. Left with wealth but no family, Anya fell into a deep depression, and eventually dropped out of the military. Her closest friend suggested that she leave the city and all of its memories behind, and she took his advice. They had once night together, a stupid, angry, sad night of desperation, and by the time that Anya left for Ethea, she was pregnant with his twins.

With her money, she didn't have to work for a while. She gave birth to twins, Talia and Elena, and for a while, things were good. All of that changed when a series of bad investments left them penniless. Moving from their high rise apartment to a tiny flat in Pauvres Square, their life of luxury abruptly became one of trials and disappointments. Talia watched out for Elena, who had been born just an hour after Talia, but who was more prone to get picked on, because of her blonde-white hair and introverted personality. Talia inherited her mother's eyes, which were a color common to the upper class of Fokradiin, but her hair was pitch black instead of pale. She also inherited her mother's fighting spirit, and got into a lot of trouble in school and out.

Her juvenile record, while currently sealed, has a few of her scrapes with the law, mostly from shop-lifting and vandalism, but also from her experiences with the street gangs. Although she never officially joined any of them, she was known to all of them as the protector of her pitiful apartment complex.

Life as a foreign family wasn't easy in a country that took every opportunity to display its intolerance for anyone different. She fought for her place in the police academy after graduating from high school, while her sister went to the Hunter's Guild instead, believing in the ideal that the Guild presented to the outside world, but not understanding the reality of hatred that it represented. Still, Elena flourished in her new job, and Talia slowly made her progress in the police department, rising above all expectations to graduate at the age of 20. She soon proved her talent for blending in with the criminal culture, and became a detective and occasional undercover cop.

Still with the police department, Talia is now looking toward the random violence that comes from the animosity between the Magi and the Hunter's Guild. If she can manage not to piss off the upper management, she may find herself in the official policing of this area. Fat chance, really.

- Firearm I (STARTER): Can accomplish fundamental and basic feats with firearm weapons. As a police officer, Talia carries two sidearms. At this time, she cannot use them both at once, but carries one for back-up.

- Unarmed Combat I (STARTER): You know the basics and can hold your own in a street fight. Talia is a brawler, who grew up in a bad neighborhood and thus has learned how to defend herself from low level fighters. Against formal styles or people with training, she is at a slight disadvantage, but experience has allowed her to overcome those limitations on occasion in the past.









Unarmed Combat II: You have improved in this skill and can accomplish more impressive feats in the fighting technique you've chosen for your character. You are now also able to defend yourself better against melee weapon-ed attacks.

Unarmed Combat III: You are extremely talented in unarmed combat within the field that you have chosen to study in.
Not only are you more able to defend yourself against melee weapon-ed attacks but you have a high chance in getting your opponent in dropping their weapon as well if given the chance (the fumble concept also applies to firearms as well).

Firearms II & III: You are now better able to dual wield if you wish to. Specialized ammunition unlocked:
Explosive: bullets can explode upon contact
Short-circuit: bullets can short-circuit a cyborg limb temporarily
