The children stopped to stare as a new stranger appeared in their midst, and their reactions were very different. Efram was concerned, staring at the third eye and the horn as if they could snake out and attack someone. Part of him was afraid, and the other part suspicious, but the stranger didn't seem hostile. So Efram just watched and waited, wondering where the person had come from. Was this the person that the woman had spoken of? Lara was excited to see a new face, especially one so interesting. The little imp was about their size, and clearly friendly. She hopped off the porch to get a closer look, a smile on her face. When she got a little closer, it was a little harder to ignore the spiritual power that she was starting to sense. She slowed her trot, coming to a stop a couple feet away. She looked at the hands, but there didn't seem to be anything threatening about the strange looking person. She gingerly took his hand. Efram jumped forward as he saw his sister take the stranger's hand, but nothing bad seemed to happen. He approached more cautiously, looking at the offered hand as if a weapon might appear at any second. When nothing became apparent, he took the creature's other hand.
"It's about time we found some new hiding places," Lara said importantly, putting her other hand on her hip. "I've found all of the best ones here, and Efram gets bored.""So where are we going?" Efram asked, tilting his head in curiosity. "Is she coming?"He pointed at the strange woman, then extended his free hand towards her in an offer to join them. Now that they were both touching the strange person, they couldn't help but trust him. There was a sense of rightness that had been missing for a long time. There was an odd sort of relief, though he didn't understand why. Tags; @pink, Tatara DM Notes; We're almost there. |

When she saw the diminutive deity, she experienced a sensation in her ectoplasm similar to the way a person's blood might run cold in sudden shock. Any semblance of warmth or kindness would fade as she stared at him: Tatara. Despite her many months of living in fear of seeing him again, he seemed rather jolly, and happily made his way to great the children. However, his third eye would stare at her in a way that kept her paralyzed; more by her own fear than any supernatural means. He was gentle and kind, and won over Lara easily. Efram was quick to stay by his sister's side, and even though she was far from their touch, she could see the peace that overwhelmed them when their hands met his. For a moment she felt a pull towards him. Perhaps he offered the peace she sought? Then she remembered Samuel, and she looked away. She would not leave without telling him she was going. She would not leave without saying goodbye. She was not sure she wanted to yet, for she had still not yet found what she sought, nor determined whether it was impossible or not. Then Efram's question broke Azalea from her thoughts and almost made her wince. She looked away, and was unsure how first to respond. The guilt was overwhelming. She'd gotten them to pass on, but had no intentions of doing it herself. Still, she didn't want to cause them to hesitate, "I've got to talk to Tatara first. However, I'll definitely be right behind you." She left out the word someday. She'd gesture for them to go, "Don't worry about me, though. You guys are going to have tons of fun, and I'm sure it'll be wonderful where you're going. I'll be there soon enough, okay?" (Don't worry, Bone. You're wonderful. ^_^) |

The god paused then to ponder his answer to best suit the child’s needs. ”To your new home.” But now the question of the woman came into play. All three eyes of the god landed on Azalea. ”Hmmm, that is a good question young ones but one I can not answer. However, she is welcome to come along if she chooses.” Waiting patiently for her response he would then sigh upon hearing response. He knew would say something along those lines but had hoped the children would of convinced her to move on into the next life.
However, her choose did little to break his ever gleaming smile. Turning to the children he offered them a small shrug. ”No worries, she will join us soon one day. But for now, would you like to see my amazing tree? I have the best peaches and I can tell you all about the next places you can hide in….I got some awesome tips on hiding.” Winking at the children and if they where willing he would usher them along to where they would belong. He would then turn towards the young woman with a tired look in his eyes. "You still wish to run from me?"

Efram frowned at the strange woman who had brought the imp. She'd wanted them to meet this strange impish creature, but she didn't want to go with them? Then why had she brought the man in the first place? Did she want the house that they were leaving behind? Perhaps it should have bothered him, but if they were finding new places to hide, they wouldn't need the house anymore. Lara would be safe, and the impish stranger would be there to keep them safe. He smiled at the imp person, imagining the taste of peaches. It had been years since Efram had tasted anything. Lara wasn't thinking about the strange woman at all, but about the idea of all of the new hiding places that they would find. Maybe there would be a lot more kids there, too. Maybe they would be more enthusiastic about playing games than Efram was, since they'd been playing for so long. The twins knew each other so well that there was little fun left in trying to find one another. They had become predictable. But she was ready to move on to new places now, as long as Efram would be coming with her. The impish fellow was certain to prove a friend, so they would be safe wherever they were going. The pair didn't even spare another glance at the house that they were leaving behind. Tags; @pink , Tatara DM Notes; Congratulations, you have convinced the children to pass on. She felt the guilt within her, and clutched pointlessly at her chest. " Tatara ." Her voice caught for a moment, but she took a deep breath, still conflicted as to what it was she wanted, "I know now why I stayed. I sought a peace and contentment in happiness as I once experienced as a child. My whole life, whether I knew it or not, was lived towards that end. That's the reason for my aggressive pursuit of any happiness, and the reason for my cowardice at any conflict. Since my death, I've had to face myself, especially today when I faced these children." "Efram, that young man, I could not lie to him so easily. He's smart, and I had to be sincere with him in order to get him to think. In doing so I realized I'm chasing something completely impossible." "I'm dead. I can't have children. I can't find someone who loves me. Every day I spend on this Earth I deny myself, my future, reincarnated self, that right. - and that is unbearably cruel." "So..." she'd pause for a moment, the gravity of her decision causing her ectoplasm to tremble, fear of the unknown and the perception of death as strong now as it was the first time he'd come to return her to where she aught to be, "if you will take this," she'd take the Lantern from her hip, and extend it towards the god, "to Samuel , and let him know I have chosen to pass on so that he does not spend the rest of his life in worry, I will come with you. I realize I am in no position to barter, but I cannot in good conscience go with you without first letting him know. These are my terms. I'm tired of fighting this. I want my peace, and I saw it in those children's eyes: I know now that the closest I can get in this lifetime is in accepting that I can not have that which I desire most, save by doing what is right and natural." She'd look down, not yet feeling the peace that seemed to have overwhelmed the children. She felt like she was giving up, giving in, but she kept her arm outstretched with the Lantern in hand, even as it trembled, and hoped that she had not made a mistake as the anxiety of waiting for his response grew increasingly uncomfortable. Tilting his head softly to the right he smiled gently at her. She had a such a kind soul even if she caused him some trouble. With a small gently laugh he approached the woman. With each step, a part of his changed. He grew taller,his antlers shrunk and his hooves increased. Within moments he went from an tiny imp to a full grown man with a thick mop of hair.
He took the latern that was offered to him and then her hand in his next. "He will be made aware of your choice." He assured her ever so softly. With that, he started towards where the children had once been, taking it slow. "Its time to meet your new future, darling along with these children."
