I'm just out to find the better part of me So her keeping books was something that was seen as a negative thing? She was reading! She was learning! Nobody had had a problem with it before.
"I apologized. I don't see what the problem is." She just hadn't had time to read them as fast as a bookworm. She used to be a bookworm herself, but holding down a job and studying had left her with very little time to do so. She hadn't known that was an issue though. Apparently it was.
Rachel had warned her. She had. And Dehlia had willfully ignored. She learned that had been a mistake when she felt something pressed against her back. Suddenly she couldn't move any of her muscles. Dehlia's ears also heard a trigger word and mentally groaned. She couldn't actually groan because she was paralyzed. Fortunately she was still standing, and alive. Obviously this small woman was a very good rune user. She heard the woman lecture her about books, and ask Dehlia a question.
Perhaps this small woman wasn't quite as smart as Dehlia had originally given her credit for. Asking a person you just paralyzed YOURSELF a question did not seem to be the most prudent way to go about things.
Interrogation rarely worked if the person you were interrogating COULD NOT SPEAK. Dehlia would've rolled her eyes had she been able to. Unfortunately every way to show her attitude required her being able to move muscles and that just WASN'T happening right now.
Wasn't she allowed to defend herself at least? | NOTES: it is next to impossible to get the word count when she's paralyzed holy cow WORDS: 255 |

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Was Ami fully aware that Dehlia couldn't speak? Yes. Did she care? No. The tiny mouse was downright pissed by this...this...this fool who not only had been checking out books for nearly two months (an eternity as far as the petite woman was concerned) but had also asked about Amelia's height. The only one who could do that sort of thing and even remotely get away with it was her sisters, Diya, and a small handle of other close friends she had. But this woman? Hell no.Fortunately enough for Dehlia's sake, Amelia's sisters still existed. They weren't exactly looking to get kicked out of a store because their elder sibling had blown up a girl right outside. A feat they both new the tiny woman could accomplish if the paralyzed individual had really done something to earn the older Rose's ire. Rachel had let Ami say some of her piece to indicate what was frustrating her so much, but now she tried to speak. " <Amelia, you know we can't just leave her out here like this.>" The words came out cautiously and slowly. Nonetheless amber eyes flicked over rather quickly. Dehlia, despite being the subject of the conversation, was temporarily forgotten. " <Rachel this is my problem. I finally found her so I'm going to deal with it.>" Snapped the petite woman. " <And what are you going to do? Kill her or something?>" That question was enough to make Amelia frown, though there was the faintest of hesitations in her cold expression. " <What? No! I'm only going to teach her a lesson. She not only kept these books from me, but asked about my height!>" before Rachel could speak up in response though, a third voice chimed in. " <Amelia please.>" Both Amelia and Rachel glanced over at Paige, who'd come out from the dressing room once Amelia had appeared again. Like Rachel she was exercising some caution, but she was also concerned. " <We both know you could do all manner of things to that girl, especially as she is now,>" there was a glance Dehlia's way before Paige looked back at Ami, " <And i think she's gotten the point. I sincerely doubt she meant any offense to you. I hardly think she even knew. Besides, you're scaring the workers here and causing a scene. Please just let her go. I'm sure now that she knows you she'll turn the books in.>" With both of her sisters trying to talk her down, it was hard for Amelia to keep up her pissed off mood. Well okay, she was still pissed off but there was logic behind her sisters' words that she couldn't deny. She was causing a bit of a scene, and the last thing she wanted to do was get her sisters in trouble. They'd done so much for her already. With a little groan, the petite woman deflated. The ice melted from her expression, leaving before frustrated flustered that at least wasn't as deadly. "Fine." Caving in, she switched back to normal speech before deactivating and removing the rune from Dehlia. Though there was a split tense second of pause where the tiny mouse almost debated on putting it back on. Luckily it passed, and instead she shot Dehlia a glare. "......Just make sure you put those books back unless you intend to actually read them this time. And if you don't, then don't take out so many." With that the girl moved past the woman to head back into the store. ---- *Words within the < >’s are said entirely in french (I simply don’t want to utterly butcher the language trying to type it out using french words) | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini”] Dehlia [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone2 [attr="class","burstmini"]596 [attr="class","burstmini"]Thank the gods for sisters |

I'm just out to find the better part of me Dehlia was being lectured. She could scarcely believe it. She, Dehlia Senka, was a twenty four year old woman. Full grown and an adult. She hadn't been lectured since she was probably about ten years old, but here she was. Paralyzed and listening to a diminutive woman who she apparently went to school with. She was going to have to be more careful in the halls of her favourite place from now on. And all because of some blasted books.
Dehlia heard the sisters talk to Amelia, and seemingly a flurry of reasonably frustrated French words. Dehlia recognized the language, but she'd be hard pressed to understand it at the moment. That's one thing she should study, actually. It would be good to have a better grasp of languages other than Olden Language and English.
Then she heard the 'fine' and gathered that the sisters had done a good job talking their sister out of this. And then she wasn't paralyzed anymore, thank goodness. Yet another lecture about being careful how many books she took out.
"You're not the bloody librarian." The words slipped out before she could stop them, but she figured it would make little difference considering Amelia was already walking away. Instead of getting angry, Dehlia settled with glaring at the small woman and picturing one of her arrows flying towards the frustrating individual.
Dehlia was not a happy woman when someone was able to best her just because of an ambush. One thing was for certain: she did not like the mouse woman. She would be avoiding the woman as much as possible.
Hopefully they weren't in the same class. It would be better for shit to not hit the fan. And with that, Dehlia left the store, her books the only things in her hands. She was done shopping. That had been rather unpleasant. Time to parkour to try to get the frustration out of her mood. Going to her job frustrated and distracted wouldn't do. | NOTES: and that's a wrap! WORDS: 333 |
