grey the blue Touch the sky, as the horizon greys the blue; Hold your breath, can you feel my burden's weight? The road to perdition, a dead ending dream--Will you paint the horizon if it leads to the end?
oh boy
| Why in the world had they thought this would be a good idea? It was doomed to failure from the beginning...And the only way they managed to make it this far was a constant cycle of attempted pep talk within their mind. It would be worth it, they reasoned, think of all the coin that could be made... But even with that, it really was a surprising show of willpower that they even showed up to these festivities at all.
By the end of the day, they really had made nothing, and were worn pretty ragged by the high levels of stress and anxiety that came with being around so many people. Their breathing was slow, their movements flighty... Slender fingers curled about the fabric of their cloak to pull it tighter about their lanky body, as if that could somehow help protect them from all the prying eyes upon them -- real or imagined.
Why, why, why, why--they chided themselves constantly, an internal mantra of reprimands. Just one more thing that could be added to their list of negative qualities -- stupidity and ignorance. It really shouldn't have been much of a surprise, truly... They really were the epitome of what not to want in an individual.
...
Just when they thought it couldn't get any worse, there was a loud, thunderous boom -- fireworks, to be exact. Kyveli had never experienced fireworks, being so socially withdrawn as they were, and the sights and sounds took them completely off guard. It was enough to whip them into a wild panic, lithe body thrown into motion as they tried to flee the festival grounds.
This really could only end poorly though, what with their path being so erratic, and their attention mostly on trying not to touch anyone as they ran by...
So it was only a matter of time that they ran, thunk, right not a stranger after they swerved to avoid a lady carrying a child.
A loud, panicked squeak escaped them as they fell back on their rear, stunned momentarily. | © seadra of gs |

Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU The music, the people, the food, and everything in between is what Sterling loved. Well, maybe not so much the people but everything else was pretty awesome. He was able to freely move about as everyone was too much in awe for the things happening around them. Children of both races scampered by here and there while parents called out to them to get their little asses back here.
Couples walked through the crowd hand in and hand. Games where being played and prizes won. Yes, this was a nice day to be out and about. No one gave him any mind as he walked proudly through the crowd. He was dressed simply in a pair of jeans, sandals, and a button up shirt that was left wide open. A few clips pulled his hair back out of his face and that as it.
He sucked lightly on a sucker he picked up not to long ago. He ventured into the crowd and stopped moving once the fireworks took to the skies. Ah yeah, now this was pretty badass! But the blond had just one question that left him perplexed. Why had his view suddenly been destroyed of the colors bursting in the sky...and why was he on his ass?
It had happened oh so fast that he never seen it coming until it was too late. "Goddammit!" He declared as he rolled slightly to rub his ass. He turned towards the person that ran into him like a battering ram. "Dude, whats the deal?" He asked while staring at the person who ran into him. "You need to watch where the hell you're going."

| Kyveli had barely enough time to parse what happened, before the person they had ran into was exclaiming loudly at them. It made each breath they took come a little quicker, as they were rooted to the spot thanks to an overly large dose of anxiety and fear. And it wasn't like they could apologize either, their voice as unwilling as ever to sidle out of their throat, leaving them to sit there, mouth agape, lithe body trembling ever-so-slightly. What should they do? What could they do? ... More importantly, what was this stranger going to do to them?
Blinking in panic, they gulped for air, trying to calm themselves to no avail. Really all they seemed to be able to do was to work themselves up further, as they remained still and in place, awaiting for some blow they were sure was coming. A beat passed, then another. After a couple of seconds passed in what felt like eternity, Kyveli thought, maybe they wouldn't die just yet (yes, their anxiety had the tendency to make their internal musings rather dramatic).
When they finally were able to coax their limbs to move, their thin body lurched into motion as they flailed to get up into a crouch...and pretty much shot across the little path to dive underneath the fabric of a nearby stall's cover. There they remained, the only thing being visible was their hands as they reached out to begin signing,
s - o - r - r - y
Their thin fingers spelled out quickly in apology, before they yanked their hands back underneath the fabric. Realizing that in truth their hiding spot was extremely flimsy and unreliable, what only being a couple of wooden posts, a platform and some fabric...But it was all they had for the time being, so they were going to cling to whatever semblance of safety they could muster. | © seadra of gs |

Well, you're a hot mess I'M FALLING FOR YOU Sterling just sat there being confused. For a moment, there had been a person in front of him and then suddenly they had vanished from his view. "Da Hell?" He said softly with a head cocked to the side. He knew he had a bad attitude but he didn't think it was bad enough to scare someone away so quickly. Well, he was an ass but oh the hell well.
Green eyes went in search of the figure. A moment later, Sterling took not of where the person ran when Sterling finally stood up. He was half tempted to just leave the idiot but he looked so pathetic it hurt. Sighing softly, he approached the other at his own pace. Once he was in the others bubble he promptly leaned on the stall with his shoulder.
"What the hell dude?" Sterling asked with raised brows. "I'm pissed but I ain't going to beat you senseless, shit man, stand up."
